We had booked this in advance as the facilities and website are excellent. On arrival I was a little disappointed that the 'large' pitch I has booked was much smaller than expected and could only just fit my tent on ( 7 x 4m) and due to poor weather conditions was very muddy, it also backed onto the road which could become very noisy at times. (plot 1 - tent field with electric.)
The facilities itself were excellent, plenty of toilets and showers which were always immaculate and never had to queue at any point. Probably the best I have used so far. The bar/ restaurant also had wi-fi which my teenagers greatly appreciated. The shop was very well stocked for it's size and all the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. There was a small beck which kept smaller children occupied for hours, and the playground seemed very safe too. My parents also stayed at the same time, in their caravan on the opposite side of the park and their pitch was excellent.
The location is approx 3 miles from Bowness so there is plenty of other activities in the area, however that did means trips out by car. I would recommend this site to caravanners but would probably not return with a tent myself unless for a short break rather than a full week.

Found this site by chance, when looking for somewhere to stay for 2 nights on our way back to handing in our rented motorhome.
Lovely, clean site, with well marked pitches, clean and modern toilets, and you can pay extra to get a bath, bliss!
The food in the restaurant was lovely, and fab walks to be had from the site with the dog.
Now one of my favourite sites, we will return!

Had a great time. The camping field was great, some flat pitches, some sloping, but not that bad. Toilet and shower facilities were clean, plug sockets in the showers, washing up facilities, laundry room.
Reception very helpful, you can take your ice packs to reception and put in the freezer. The pitch prices were a little more than we would normally pay but it was worth it. There is a shop, restaurant and bar on site. The restaurant was a little pricey. Drinks in the bar for adults were ok but kids drinks were pricey.
The kids loved the stream, they played for hours. There's a great park for the kids, our kids loved it. Lovely walks around the area, plenty of wooded areas and hills to climb. The lake is in walking distance or you can go to Bowness which is the nearest town, which has all your usual shops and tesco express. We would definitely go back again.

Stayed here with a small group for 3 nights. Facilities were modern and regularly cleaned. Small restaurant and shop on site which was very busy this time of year but the group always managed to find some tables and the service was good. I would definitely come back here - views over Windermere and lots of places to visit nearby.
The only downside is the sharp slope that the tents have to pitch on (non electric hook up), getting your car up to the pitch can be challenging in wet weather.
Lovely river running through the site which entertained the kids more than the playground did, although this was also well equiped.
Atmosphere, even on rainy nights was great, the site seemed to attract the type of people who find areas of beauty interesting.
Worth a visit!

Me and my partner stayed at this site for 1 week in and we will be going back again. The site has fantastic facilities, the toilet and shower blocks were cleaned all the time, they are the cleanest ones I've seen yet
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our pitch was a very good size we had electric hookup and was on the flatter side of the site, the fellside looked a little slopy but you could have as much space as you wanted
The river going through the park is lovely, the kids loved it, its not too deep for them and they had great fun. The bar was nice and friendly and served good food, I went a couple of times when I couldn't be bothered cooking. The shop is well stocked with the basics you need
Park Cliffe is an ideal place for exploring this part of the lakes, you will need to drive a bit though, the closest village is bowness on windermere, it's lovely there. There is some really nice pubs that do good food and lots to do on the lake, it gets busy most days but mainly at the weekend, there is enough parking but it can get expensive
If your a keen walker like us there are plenty around and about, you can buy some walks at reception for 60p which I thought was great. Grizedale forest is a must see, it's brilliant I loved it. The walks are great and there's a Go Ape there. There are also lots of cycle tracks if that's your thing. All in all we will be back again next year.

This campsite, having stayed here previously on a number of occasions is absolutely fantastic. Sites facilities are more than adequate, the toilet facilities are well equipped and immaculate. Heated floors in this area I can say is a god send in October!
The kids facilities were great but when in the lakes these are just adding to the already fantastic scenery and facilities around for both adults and children. I would recommend a walk to the top of the ‘mountain’ as my daughter says. It is the big hill behind the campsite and the views from the top on a clear day is just spectacular.
The surrounding area, well it’s the lakes so I’m not going to go on about it, other than its my favourite place to come and relax.
Love this place so much I have booked a few days during the May bank holiday.

Fab! Just been for the October half term week. Lovely site, extremely friendly and helpful staff, lovely shower / toilet facilities. Fun night at Halloween - campers really got into the spirit and dressed their vans up. Can highly recommend the food. Beautiful stream running through the site. Can imagine it lovely in the summer months in a tent. Brilliant walk up the hill at the rear of the site and Gummers How a little farther down too. If there were any negatives only one would be caravans quite close together and doesn't really give you nice views from your van of another's set up but this does not spoil site for a holiday and would definitely return.

Fantastic campsite, very clean toilet and shower blocks with under floor heating so nice and warm. Pot wash area spotless. Only stayed one night as we where dropping our daughter off at the near by scout camp but will definitely stay again. All the staff where pleasant and helpful. The kids playground was great with swings and climbing frames, our 5 year old didn't want to leave! Site is in a beautiful location handy for south lakes. Site shop reasonably priced but only opens at 9am, a bit late if you want supplies for breakfast! Did not eat in the restaurant but the menu although limited was reasonably priced and the restaurant / bar area was modern and nicely furnished. Stayed on the tent pitch section which is rather hilly but managed to pitch on a flat area, great that you can choose where to pitch in this field. Walked through the caravan/electric hook up area and it all looked really well kept. Will definitely stay again, maybe in a camping pod over the winter!

A lovely site!
We've just returned from 2 nights in a large tent, staying on the upper site (Fellside)and I'm really impressed with the whole site! It was very clean (I saw staff each day walking around with bin liners in case of rubbish) and the staff were really helpful and genuinely lovely, friendly people.
There are a few flat pitches on Fellside, but I'd recommend an early arrival to guarantee a really flat one - or definitely book Ghyll Beck which also has hookup facilities! There are plenty of rocks for adventurous kids to climb on, and the wooden play area is great for all kids - with a stream at the edge for endless fun building dams!
The wash-up and shower/toilet facilities were excellent, and plenty of very hot water!
Easy travelling distance (by car) to Bowness and also to Fell Foot Park. Its a bit more expensive than we've paid in the past, but definitely worth it :-)

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of june on our way to scotland. We have two children ages 8 and 13. We all enjoyed the campsite and the staff were really friendly. We had food some evenings at the bar / restaurant and it was nice. The showers and toilets were the very clean. Now I am home I can say the toilets and showers was the best I saw on my 2 week hols.
