Our 1st time camping in the lakes and did we pick a great site. We arrived and had a lovely welcome and they walked us to our ehu pitch across the road.
We had a great Easter weekend break and joined in with some of the Easter events they had going.
The wardens soon dealt with some noisy campers one evening and you could see the wardens walking around late at night.
Pub and shop where fine and all staff where friendly and helpful.
We where pitched across the road from the main site and the road is a route to other villages so a torch is a must at night when going to the loo's.

Parke Cliffe was my attempt to find another gem like Keswick Caravan club site.
The reception area is professional and the on site shop is an impressive supermarket selling everything you would need - even a freezer section.
The fee includes a pass to their bar and entertainment venue - however this was a busy weekend and we were placed in the overflow camping field (2 fields from venue) and as we have dogs we did not use the venue (even though inflated ticket price was paid) Toilet block in overflow was a portacabin/clean - toilets/shower block in next field was good/clean.
The site is in a beautiful area to walk and the dogs loved the river flowing by.
You would miss the nearby village if you blinked - small shop and a tiny camping shop.

Camped over the Royal wedding bank holiday & pitched on Fellside which is the unallocated side without electric hook-up. Second time at this site.
Welcomed much better weather than we got last time which made it so much better but windy as always. Facilities are fantastic. Good food at the restaurant, nice pint at the bar, on-site shop quite well stocked,
Very clean and hot showers, toilets clean, wash basins. Also you can book the bathroom for a 45min slot for a refundable ( when you return the key ) £10 deposit. Wife loved relaxing in a hot bath as a camping treat.
Friendly with plenty of patrols to keep an eye on things & to keep the site litter free ( most of the time ) without being invasive.
Great location for local walks, sightseeing & lovely view from the top of the site.
If I had any negatives it would be that it is difficult to find a flat pitch & the ground is probably the most rocky I have come across. Bent majority of our pegs.
Take rock pegs to this site, we had to buy several at the shop, 80p each, to get by. That said the facilities more than make up for any gripes & the geology of the site can't really be helped.
All in all I would recommend this site especially if you are new to camping or don't much like having to rough it as this site has all you need.

Excellent campsite, with fantastic facilities, modern toilets and shower block (which are kept exceptionally clean), private bathrooms for use for £10 returnable deposit (great for families with small children), good food at restaurant, lovely welcoming staff & well stocked shop.
Few points to consider;
There is an issue with commercial vehicles being parked on site, we were asked to move our van to the car park.
Children's play area is for older children 6/7+ with larger climbing apparatus, however we didn't need it-the stream & open field kept our 2. 5 year old entertained.
Cherry pick your pitch; flat level pitches are limited.
A great base for exploring, we will return!

This was our visit camping trip and we could not have chosen a better site.
The facilities are first class, daily litter picking, the toilet blocks and general areas were always immaculate.
We used the family bathroom every day, which we booked for the same time every night of our stay. They had loads of spaces and this was a week when the site was full.
The kids loved the games room, the stream and just cycling everywhere. They played very little in the playground, but that also was very good.
Highly recommend the walk up the hill, steeper than it looks, but the view is worth it. If you also go across to Ghyllside you can watch the sunset over Windermere.
We did not eat at the restaurant as we had 5 glorious sunny days which we BBQ'd, but it did look very nice.
Do follow the route via Newby Bridge and not the Sat Nav route we took. A four foot deep ford was not the best route for a fully laden car.
We did walks from Pattersdale to Silver Bay at Ullswater, Tawn Hows and then Olde Dungeen Ghyll to Blea Tarn = all highly recommended. South Lakes Zoo and Fellfoot Park were favorites with the kids.
We will be visiting again

Just returned from Park Cliffe, very welcoming warden showed us to our generous sized pitch, right next to a stream with our very own small waterfall. I liked the way the pitches were angled, not all in rows. Facilities were great the toilets and showers clean but there was a bit of a draught (a heater would be good). Didn't use the bar or cafe because we had our dog with us but they looked nice.
Very pleasant, helpful lady in reception told me what we could do in the area. Very central for visiting lots of places. Great to see kids playing in the stream, getting wet and muddy! Even though there were quite a few children it wasn't a noisy site. To make the weekend perfect we had two gorgeous hot sunny days, must be a first for the Lakes !

This site was recommended and we weren't disappointed! Very friendly welcome from staff, and when we were shown to our pitch, which was quite high up the site so had lovely views, it was suggested that we might like to park our van horizontally on the pitch in order to make the most of the sun.
This was a great idea as despite the fact that it was British summertime in the Lakes, we had lots of sun! Nice play area at top of site, away from vans, stream running through at bottom for paddling, there is a nice walk up a hill overlooking the site, great for kite flying at the top. Restaurant reasonably priced and nice food.
Toilets good. We visited Fell Foot Park (National Trust) which is about 3 miles away, lovely position on Lake Windemere, has 'beach' area which was very busy at the time because of nice weather. Cafe, nice play area.
We hired a rowing boat and a kayak, but lots of people had brought their own dinghies etc, which we would do next time. We also walked to Bowness on Windemere, following instructions from leaflet bought at reception - pretty hard going though. We're not the fittest people but are not exactly couch potatoes, and this walk definitely wouldn't suit everyone.
Had some excellent chips in Bowness - can't remember the name of the chippie but it's opposite Costas, and has a couple of benches outside! Bowness very busy, if you can avoid the school holidays, I would recommend it!

We chose Park Cliffe on the recommendation of our sister in law who had been to the site with her tent over the summer.
On arrival, we were welcomed by very friendly reception staff. A warden then showed us round to our pitch(even though it was literally just around the corner from reception!) and helped us park up. He gave us information about the site, as well as local information and details on walks in the area.
The grounds were well maintained and the site was lovely and quiet - no noise from people returning from the bar, as we have had on previous sites!
The facilities on this site are second to none. The toilets and showers are absolutely immaculate. The shower cubicles are really spacious, especially the family ones. I took my 3 year old into the shower and there was plenty of hanging space for both our clothes and seats to sit him on once he was dressed and I was getting dry. The private bathrooms sound like a fantastic idea, although I cannot comment on what these were like as we never used them. There was plenty of hot water and there was a mop and bucket for mopping out the shower cubicle once you had finished.
The restaurant and bar on the site was excellent, great food reasonably priced and massive portions. There was a lovely little area down by the stream with picnic benches where you could sit and have a drink whilst watching the children paddling.
There is also a well stocked shop on site selling all essentials, plus toys and other goodies.
The children's play area was good, although apart from the swings, there wasn't much for the toddler age group.
We had a lovely walk up the fell on the Sunday morning and were rewarded with fantastic views over Lake Windermere. It was quite a steep hike, but our 6 year old and 3 year old made it to the top without any complaining once!
On the day we were leaving, we called into reception to ask if we would be able to vacate the site later in the afternoon, as we wanted to visit Fell Foot Park. The staff were extremely accommodating and said we could leave at anytime we wanted, at no extra cost. Obviously, this would depend on whether the pitch was free for that coming night.
The only negative is that we did not book for longer!
All in all, I cannot praise this site highly enough and look forward to returning in the very near future.

Fantastic, Thats what we say, from checking in the staff are all so friendly, food lovely and massive portions enough for 2 people.Nicely stocked shop with all you could need and newspapers from 9am each morning
Bathrooms were a god send after a very cold friday night and saturday, even though the sun was out when it went in it did get freezing.
Only wish you could book a pitch on Fellside as we didn't arrive until after 5pm so the flat bits with the views were taken. We ended up pitching on the top slope for the views but could of gone else where on the flat but we wanted views and WoW you do get them up there.
Brilliant site a we will be returning

We stayed at this site after reading such good reviews. Myself, my husband, and our 2 year old daughter stayed on the site for 4 nights and enjoyed every second we were there. The facilities are amazing and all the staff are so friendly and helpful.
We were able to hire a private bathroom (free of charge) for an hour every night so our daughter could stick to her routine by having a bath before bed. The toilet and shower blocks were cleaned on the hour so always immaculate. Potwash area was always clean and tidy as well. We ate in the restaurant once and food was beautiful.
The only downside for me was the playarea, definitely not suitable for a 2 year old (apart from the swing) it has wooden climbing frames and chains and walking beams so not aimed for toddlers really but there is a lovely little stream that you can paddle in (with wellies on!).
Will definitely be returning to this site.
