Visited this wonderful site and although the weather did it's best to spoil our holiday my wife and I had a great relaxing stay at this beautifully manicured site.
The whole team go out of their way to make you feel welcome and ensure that the whole site and facilities are kept spotlessly clean, even when the weather was against them. There are two sets of toilet/shower blocks so that when the cleaners are in there is always a male and female facility open.
The bar / restaurant / clubhouse are as you would expect clean and the staff friendly. The scenery and walks are lovely, particularly recommend the climb to the top of the hill that overlooks the site. The panoramic view is breathtaking.
The managers couldn't be friendlier and go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. When we left the site, the manager had his head under the bonnet of a campers car trying to rectify a problem.
All in all the best site that we have visited to date and will take a great deal to beat. Thoroughly recommend this site even though you have to drive to get to the surrounding towns and attractions as is the case with most sites.

My family and I have just returned from a 4 night stay at Park Cliffe. The site is wonderful! Follow the sites directions not your Sat Nav otherwise you could get stuck with a longer caravan!
Check in was easy and straightforward and the setting of this site was just beautiful. We were shown to and helped onto our pitch by Tim. We have just started the school holidays so the site was busy but the pitches were not cramped and ours was fully serviced.
There is a lovely bar and restaurant and convenient shop. However it was the park and the delightful stream that kept our 5 and 3 year old happy.
The walks are what attracts so many visitors and close proximity to Bownesss, this said a car is useful but beware the whole of the lake district charges a fortune for parking. A taxi shuttle was a cheaper way to get into Bowness so splitting the costs with other guests at the site.
All told the facilities were excellent and very clean, the staff friendly, the site very pretty in a beautiful part of the world. If you fancy a drive out the Masons Arms at Cartmel Fell, a 3 mile drive is a great pub!

Beautiful location, some nice views from the site.
Not the easiest access, a very tight turn onto the site.
This site has every amenity you would need all in good clean order, although all we required for our 2 night stay were loos showers and pot wash.
Site is nicely laid out so you don't feel overlooked by neighbours.
At £30 a night we thought this was rather expensive but I suppose if you stayed longer than we did and used all the facilities you would probably feel it was worth it.
Lots to visit within driving distance from this site. We went to Coniston Water and picnicked waterside- incredibly beautiful like most of the Lake District but this area is expensive - all parking is pay and display. We actually joined the National Trust whilst we were there as they own a lot of the car parks.
This site would suit people who like luxury camping.

Fantastic site. Stayed on first bank holiday weekend in May on ehu. Views are breathtaking and parents stayed in one of the pods which was great and had even better views. Had try to stay before but the same pitch was waterlogged in September after some very heavy rain but thankfully this time was fine despite some wet weather again. The facilities are among the best we have come across with fantastic showers and tiolets, on site shop selling basics and a great pub which served some great food - gigantic fish and chips. Will definitely return

I have just got home after a fabulous 3 nights at Park cliffe with my wife and 2 children.
We arrived at around 6pm on the Friday and the check in was done very efficiently and the receptionist showed us to our pitch which I'd pre-booked and hand picked for its location using the parks website map.
The pitch location was ideal and had both an electric hook up point and a water supply right next to the pitch.
The main facilities were just over a small, quiet lane and just about everything you could possibly need was available and in excellent condition.
The toilet and shower blocks were both immaculate and well maintained and the pot wash facility was undercover and next to a lovely stream that meanders around the site.
There was also a laundrette room but we didn't need to use this but looking through the door I could see that there was plenty of machines available including washers and dryers and even an ironing board and iron.
There was also a small games room with a small number of arcade machines plus an air hockey table that both my children enjoyed immensely.
The main building contained a good sized dining area spread between two different rooms with a bar in between. There was two good sized plasma TV's within the two rooms and also a pool table.
Also within this area was a small but reasonably well stocked shop with most essentials that you would expect, although the prices were obviously higher than the average supermarket.
Outside the main building there was a good number of picnic tables situated alongside the stream which looked like a great spot to enjoy a meal or a few drinks. Although we didn't actually eat from the restaurant because we cooked our own meals the food that I saw being served looked very nice and were very generous portions too.
As well as enjoying paddling in the sites lovely stream my children also enjoyed the play area which was situated at the far end of the camp site.
The only minor gripe I would have and it is only a very minor one is that the site is pretty much out of the way and a good 4. 5 miles from the civilisation of Bowness with no shops or pubs within a reasonable walking distance.
We actually did the walk into Bowness on our second day there and it took us a good 2 and a half hours to get there. For anyone less able bodied or less adventurous than ourselves you would definitely need to use a car or similar mode of transport if you wanted to have days out away from this site.
Overall this is a really wonderful campsite situated in a really lovely part of the Lake district and in my opinion has justified the numerous awards they have received and achieved over the years. We fully intend on returning to this site in future and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone, especially families with children and/or dogs.

Brilliant site, with great facilities, area for Kids to play away from camping/motorhome area, well away from any cars/roads. We camped with electric, and electric points were basically between every 2 pitches, with loads of water points, and recycling facilities.
It was well lit where needed, and easy access all over the site. The only downside was driving to places, although if you don't mind a good hike you could walk into Bowness in a few hours.
Initially worried as our pitch was next to the road(dry stone wall between site and road, but there was almost no traffic, all that was up the road was a scout camp and a couple of houses, great for walking.
All in all a gem of a site, will definitely visit again.

Stayed at Park cliffe towards the end of April 2012 with 2 friends and there young son. On arrival, our 1st impressions were good. Very clean, inviting and picturesque with an excellent feel. Reception staff were extremely welcoming and swift in booking us in and directing us to our allocated pitches, which, like I requested were neighbouring.
The campsite was reasonably quiet at the time of our stay, and we were not disturbed at all. The facilities were exceptionally clean and accessible which accommodated well for the young family we were with. However, the bar was small and the food didn't look appealing, but we prefer to eat off site or Barbecue at the tent. Bowness and Windermere are a very short drive away with plenty to do, and with plenty of places to eat and drink. We all agree that we will be staying again in the summer and cannot wait to get back there at the first opportunity.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this site, the first time that we have visited in 10 years and this time with children!
The site itself continues to be excellent with stunning views, particularly on fellside, and immaculately clean facilities. The cafe / bar serve reasonably priced (for the lakes!) and good quality food for breakfast and evening meals, which we tried each day. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the play area is excellent for younger children.
The one downside, as other reviewers have commented on, is the fact that a car is fairly essential as it is almost impossible to walk to any towns or villages from the site.
We will definitely return, but if we come at the time of year when we break ice off the tent we may be tempted to try out the pods!

Just back from this site over Easter weekend. First time at this site and I must say that we were impressed. We stayed on the fell side part were you chose your own pitch. When we arrived staff friendly showed us map and area to pitch and explained were the facilities were located.
Some of the pitch sites are on slopes but quite a few flat areas we arrived early so no problem with choice.
The toilets and showers were spotless cleaned at least every hour and never had to queue even when busy. Playground area seamed to have a lot of new equipment and cleaned daily kids liked it.
We ate in the restaurant a bit short of space mainly as weather bad on two night as people went for drink and to use wifi then didn't move service good food reasonable price and we liked it. So eat early if you have kids couples no problem as they can eat in another area.
Word of warning road to camp site the turn in of the main road is a sharp turn if coming in from Bowness direction.
Overall we would stay again if we could get an EHU pitch as we like heating in poor weather.

Now one of my favourite campsites! Great location set only a few minutes distance from the main Windermere tourism areas.
Clean, well maintained site. Toilets were very nice.
Friendly welcome and service throughout the stay.
Peaceful, no road noise or anything that would spoil the peace. So we had a really relaxing weekend away.
It's right next to fell foot nature reserve too.
There are some arcades for kids but I wouldn't say this place was packed out to entertain kids for a long period of time.
I definitely need to come here again soon.
Everything you want!
