I can highly recommend this camp site. It is very clean, the staff are very friendly and the scenery is lovely.
The walk into Barrow - phew! Being quite keen walkers we looked at the instructions that the lady at reception had kindly printed out and said, 4 miles, - easy. Waking up the next morning and being unable to move as I was so stiff - not so easy!
Had a beautiful breakfast in the restaurant though which eased the pain some what.
We didn't go to the bar, but from the restaurant experience I would imagine it's first class.
Highly recommended.

We have just got back from a 5 day visit here.
It was fantastic! Depsite the weather being 90% poor, me and my partner had a great time. The site had everything we needed.
Pitch was big enough for our tent, car, table and chairs. Pitch condition was excellent until the heavy rain came, which caused mud, but that is expected.
Shop, bar, restaurant. And at very reasonable prices!
The food in the restaurant is beautiful. Think Wetherspoons prices but even better quality! Bar prices are no more expensive than what you would pay in a local pub. They have games such as Scrabble and Jenga that the kids can play with while you're having a drink.
The staff are very helpful and friendly. Everyone was so laid back because anything you would need is already there. All at about a 3minute walk away.
Toilets and showers are always spotless. Plenty of hot water. Also refeshing to see litter pickers walking about keeping the site clean and tidy.
Games room on site was VERY entertaining after a few bevvies. Especially the Time Crisis game.
All in all a very pleasant site to stay at. As first time campers, we felt very comfortable with every aspect of Park Cliffe. Easy to see why it won Campsite of the Year. Would recommend this site to anyone. 4 stars.

The sites facility's are super, better than some of the cc club sites we've been too, clean, tidy and modern.
The staff are all happy and helpful. The on site restaurant is reasonably priced and produces some simple but good food. On site shop has most of the things you would need although not a lot of fresh produce, nearest supermarket is Booths in Windermere.
Nice site for the kids, little stream is great free and endless fun, gets a bit lively and a heavy rainfall and its Cumbria, it will most likely rain. There is a park hidden up behind the caravan area. Small mountain is also good fun to walk up and marvel at the sunset and views. Or sunrise if your keen enough.
I read these reviews before going to this site and decided to make up my own mind about the 'undulating slopes'. We stayed on Fell Side (non EHU) and it is what we call a 'free for all pitching' ie You can pitch where you like.
It lives up to its name and it is effectively on the side of a hill of varying terrain, there are flat areas, slightly sloping area's and majorly steep areas. When we arrived, the flat ones were all gone so we found a slightly sloping area to pitch our 5 man tent. To be fair, the flat areas were rather hammered by constant use and became rather boggy when it rained.
With a small tent, slopes are not that bad but if your pitching a big tent its gonna be a battle against gravity!

On arrival to the campsite you are overcome by the beauty of the location. Most pitches are slightly uneven although this is insignificant when you consider the quality of the facilities on the campsite.
The toilet/shower block is very clean at all times with noticeable cleaning taking place throughout the whole of the day. The shop sells a good selection of food and campsite essentials. Whilst the play area is great, it was never busy as the children were entertained by the pictures brook.
There are many simple walks close by, and the location is a great base for visiting the surrounding areas. A site we will definitely revisit.

Don't use a Sat Nav to get here if in a car as you end up going through a Ford and because of the amount of rain it was running pretty deep. Aproach from Newby Bridge as the turn up the drive is a very sharp corner and difficult to get around.
Instructions over, now enjoy this fab site. Very clean, well maintained, helpful welcoming staff great facilities. Pitches on the non ehu (Fell something) are on a serious slope you'll have to be very lucky to get one on the flat bit at the bottom near the stream. Pitches on Ghyllside much flatter but not very big but we did fit on ok. If you like to put windbreaks around and set up camp this may be difficult. Even then the tent pitches have stones under and I was really worried about our groundsheet. Take another tarp to put under to be on the safe side.
We had amazing views over the lake and from the site is a fantastic walk up a hill. You must go to the top and watch the sun set, the gasping for air is worth it. The one negative about this is the cost. Two of us in a tent, no ehu,one car £108.00 for three nights!

Just returned from a 11 night stop at this site. Having had the miss fortune to arrive on the back of a low loader courtesy of Britannia rescue!
I found the staff to be extremely helpful in placing my van on its pitch for me, and also supplying me with details maps etc of the local Peugeot dealership with which to drop off my car!
Nothing was too much of a problem. This helpfulness continued throughout our stay.
I would have no problems in recommending this site, the facilities were the best I have come across. The toilets and shower blocks were always kept clean at a very high standard. The site overall was a very well maintained. The flowers and plants at the entrance showed the level of effort in keeping up appearances.

This is by far the best site we have ever stayed at.
We were pitched at an EHU pitch. We don't use EHU, however it was worth paying the extra for these pitches. Unlike some of the other pitches, these are very flat. These are also a mixture of tents and motorhomes, making it very quiet both at night and in the morning.
The facilities are excellent. There are 2 blocks of ladies toilets and 2 blocks of mens, plus 2 shower blocks for ladies and 2 for men. They were immaculate every time we used them. There were 4 pot washes, which seemed enough as we never had to queue.
There is a nice restaurant on site, which was very welcome after we took our tent down on a very wet day. The restaurant also had board games which kept the children happy.
The location is great, prime lake district with penty of walks directly from the site.
We would highly recommend this site and will be returning.

What a really great place to stay.
All the staff were very polite and helpful nothing too much trouble.
Has won awards for campsite of the year and very well deserved they are to.
Everything was spotless and cleaned regularly and lots of facilities as well.
Has a small restaurant and bar with shop and has wifi available too which we found very useful.
Well worth a visit and I would really recommend them to anyone.
Looking forward to my next visit.

Excellent site, very clean with nice modern toilet block, nice pitches with great views, and friendly staff, as well as a nice club house and shop that is pretty reasonable. Great location, fell foot park is worth a visit.
Moor how is a bit off a hill located within the grounds of park cliffe and is a friendly walk for kids and takes you up to some fantastic views of lake windermere.
If your going in a tent, get there early as some pitches a very sloping but there a few level areas to be had. Overall, a very nice site, now just prey it doesn't rain as it seems to a lot in the lakes!

Once you've visited Park Cliffe you will know why it won Campsite of the Year 2009. The facilities were immaculate, the staff extremely friendly and it all comes with a fantastic view of Windermere and its surrounding hills.
We only booked for one night as it was a stop off point to Loch Lomand but would definitely return. The food served in the on-site restaurant was reasonably priced and tasty. They stop serving at 9pm but were flexible enough to serve us with a smile at 8:58!
You choose where to pitch your tent and there was plenty of space available. The bar is open until 11pm with a relaxed atmosphere and the site was not at all noisy after closing time.
Due to the bad weather conditions the previous evening (35mph winds and torrential rain!), we over-slept but again, staff were ok with us checking out 30 mins late.
Shower & toilet block was spotless with plenty of hot running water. Would happily recommend this to anyone wanting to camp in The South Lakes. Excellent!
