May 2002 The site is best entered from the south as the turning from the north is VERY TIGHT and you can easly catch your car underside on the road if you dont line up properly.
The site owner put us in the pre book site with electric hook ups on some piches as they had had heavy rain and this was the dryest area. The pitch was on a sloping part made into small terrace plots. To get the toilet/shop/caff we had to cross the road as we were in a field off the main site.
The toilets and showers are first class , you can book your own bathroom for the week if you give prior notice when you book.
Handy for hill walking, the view from the top of Moor How next to the site (229mtr high )is worth the climb geoff&annb

July 2003 I found Park Cliffe on an awful junction to turn into. once past this junction I found the site with no problems. But once we arrived we found the staff to be not very happy in there work they seemed fed up this isnt what u expect when you arrive on a holiday you plan and look forward to.
The site itself I found the toilets/washing room/shower rooms/shop and restaurant easily and they were very clean and well light and looked after. We chose to camp on the site and the sloping hills means you have to sleep sliding down the tent. People put their tents overlapping the guide ropes with yours and leave you no room to get your car anywhere near your tent. Also late at night there were people who played music into the nught and drank swore and carried on at all times instead of the family site with quiet evening for your kids to sleep in peace.
Despite all of these down points about this campsite we had a fantastic holday with great times had and Windermere and its surroundings are wonderful. We just found this site a family dissapointment but made the best of it.

June 2002 Although we really enjoyed our visit last year, i was saddened and disappointed that we will be unable to stay again this year !!
I called to make a booking and was told that no all female groups will be admitted from now on, the lady i spoke to was VERY abrupt and rude.
We had a wonderful holiday last year and were looking forward to going back!! Although i can understand the problems associated with one sex groups - it makes it very difficult for my partner and i and of course our friends to book. Maybe further undrestanding of the groups nature could be discussed before being bluntly refused !!!

June 2003 PROS : Excellent facilities, shop, bar, restauraunt, free hot showers, clean toilets, childrens games room. Views over Langdale Pikes are outstanding. A very nicely run site.
CONS : Price, it cost me £10.50 for 1 night for a 2 man tent + car - the charge was just for me...£17.50 for 2 people. The site is on a hill so the are practically no flat pitches.
Would I go again....YES but only for 1 or 2 nights. I assume June is not in the High season so the prices will only go up.

2001-2003 Excellent site, although roll together in bed not a problem, roll off is, due to the rather hilly nature of the site. Shower's and toilet block's are good and very clean. There is an abbundance(and if you've ever seen a bun dance)of free hot water. There is the offer, if booked early enough, of a private bathroom. The shop, although minute, is ideal for emergencies and will order anything you require (except a geisher girl). THE BAR although appears to be expensive at first glance, it's good value for money due to portion sizes (spirits served in 35 mil measures and 4 pint pitchures of ale). We find all staff on site very friendly and helpful.

July 2001 I loved this site! It is in a great spot for South Lakes. Not far from Bowness and shops and of course Lake Windermere. The best thing in my mind is the spotless toilets and showers they are a credit to the staff. I would recommend this site to anyone.

August 2002 Excellent clean facilities. Great views from the tent camping area. One minor drawback, there were not many FLAT areas to pitch your tent. We will return here again soon.

July 2002 I definitely second the comment above regarding access to the site - you will see quite a few scrape-marks on the ground on the way in. This is an excellent site with very friendly staff who could not do enough to help us. The bar is great (if a little too quiet), but the food is extortionatly priced (£8 for a breakfast!!!). The shop is very good, with plenty of fresh produce, but no papers or magazines. The toilets are immaculate, and the facilities are right by every pitch (as well as hook up, every pitch has a tap).
Well worth a visit, if a little pricey.

July 2001 A nice friendly site with clean toilets and free hot showers. There is a small but well stocked shop and a nice bar that serves meals. The views are absolutely stunning. One word of caution any car with a tow, travelling on the A592 must approach from the south
