A lovely peaceful site, very sheltered lying at the bottom of the valley. There is a river which the children (8 and 10) spent hours in fishing and building dams. The highlight was the opportunity to take a goat for a walk around the site on a lead.
The facilities were clean and adequate. A hook in the loo to hang up your wash bag would have been useful. The showers were 20p for 7 minutes which was plenty for me - not nice enough that you'd want to stay in longer!
The playground looked fairly limited but my daughter was happy for ages!
There is a small but well stocked shop on site and another village shop a couple of minutes walk up the road. We ate at the crown at the top of the hill - the home made pies are excellent!
The Stiperstones and the Long Mynd are very close (i think you can catch a mini bus to Church Stretton and walk back over the Long Mynd to the campsite - about 10 km - unfortunately too far for our youngest - would have been the Long Moan rather than the Long Mynd!).
We will visit again and may take up the offer of leaving the tent there and returning the following weekend.

Our family of six went here for a long weekend, we pitched in the far field next to our friends, the river behind the tents was very nice,(not good to listen to late at night after a few beers!)
The site itself was superb, very clean, good plentiful facilities, tidy with a relaxed atmosphere, the countryside setting was great, our children, and the adults, had hours of fun wading up the river with our wellies on.
In the evening we wandered up to the inn on the green for an hour or two. Our large group, and our pet pug were all made very welcome in the lovely beer garden.
After camping in the summer in devon, this made a nice end to the season with something a little different to coastal holidays,
All in all very well recommended

Arrived to a water logged pitch told we couldn't view prior to paying, advised it was a field not a 4 star hotel, staff unhelpful. Shop well stocked for camping items. Toilets and showers clean and ok, 20p for a shower that is either scalding or freezing, spasmodic hot water for washing up but plenty of loo roll and quite clean. Playground 2 swings and a log of wood. Pitch 5 the best I thought
Quiet, food good at the Inn on the Green and the Crown, Wentnor stores spotless cheap and helpful, area beautiful

Spent a super weekend here. It is cheap and has all we needed. For an extra £3 (which goes into a box for the Air Ambulance) we extended our stay until late afternoon. We have taken advantage of the offer to leave the caravan there for the week, free of charge, and will return for another weekend next week when we will bring the caravan home. The site is large but doesn't seem so as it is split up into several small sections. We were able to get in with a phone call on Friday morning. The reception was warm and helpful. There was plenty of space on the pitch for our small caravan and canopy, our car and still there was space to spare. The toilet/shower block was adequate - plenty of toilets and showers and dish washing facilities were good.
We enjoyed a quiet relaxing weekend even though the site seemed to be quite busy. The pub just 2 minutes walk from the site served a wide range of meals, many at very competitive prices. I am sure we will return here again.

We tried this campsite as our first family solo camp, that is without anyone who knew what they were doing. It was a perfect family site - facilities were nice and the people friendly. We will be back soon.
The stream provided the perfect location for play on a hot sunny day with lots of creepy crawlies to be found. When my child tired of that there was a limited play ground. Undoubtedly the highlight of the weekend was goat-walking, the owner uses pygmy goats to keep the grass down on some steep areas, all the kids found this very exciting.
Even though we had brought the wrong gas for our camper, only one bung (but two air beds) and our cheap tent leaked on the last night - everyone had a relaxing time - I'm sorry I cannot comment on the surrounding area as it was so very relaxing to throw open the tent, let the kids run around playing with lots of other kids in a sheltered site and put the kettle on to relax with a good book! I felt more like I had holidayed for a week rather than 3 days.
The pitch was a good size and well kept, the recyling facilities were excellent and though the shop was small, it sold everything we needed.

My fiance and my two daughters, her son and I stayed in a tent at this site over the for a weekend.
We had a wonderful time. We overlooked the stream. We could sit, relax and watch our daughter kids in the stream. The toilet and washing facilities were immaculate.
The pub was friendly and welcomed us with the children. Didn't eat at the pub, but food did look nice. The Crown Pub in Wentnor, just a short 10 minute walk up the hill - had great views of the long mynd and watched the gliders whilst sitting in the beer garden.
The my oldest daughter enjoyed taking one of the goats for a walk on a lead. Found it to be very novel and she still hasn't stopped telling people about it.
I would recommend this site to anyone, is a very nice, clean, family friendly site. We are definitely going to return for many more wk ends away.

My husband, daughter and I stayed in a tent at this site over the May Bank Holiday weekend.
We had a wonderful break. Our pitch was on 'The Island' and our tent overlooked the stream. We could sit, relax and watch our daughter play in the stream (only ankle deep) with the other children. The shop supplied all our needs during our stay, and the toilet and washing facilities were always immaculately clean.
The pub nearest to the site was child friendly but the food was average. For a good home cooked meal, in lovely surroundings,I'd recommend 'The Crown Pub' in Wentnor, just a short 10 minute walk up the hill - it really is worth the effort!
The highlight of my daughters stay was not only making lots of new friends, but taking one of the goats for a walk on a lead. The site has three resident goats, and the lovely lady in the reception is more than happy to let the children take them for a stroll.
I would whole-heartedly recommend this site to anyone who enjoys a nice, clean, family friendly site. We are definitely going to return this summer.

Arrived late, and no staff, but they had left info on where to pitch on the reception door, which was great, well organized. Site is very clean, and tidy, great washing up area, plenty of showers, toilets, etc, cleaners constantly keeping it all clean. Shop well equipped, should you forget anything, cheap toys to keep the kids happy. Amazingly quiet at night ,to say how many people were there, it was busy, but never felt crowded. Showers didn't always work, so you have to swap cubicles, which was a bit annoying, but hey, it's still a great site. Kids enjoyed it, everyone was friendly. I highly recommend this site, so peaceful, beautiful surroundings, just perfect really!

Managed to get on the site at the last minute for the bank holiday weekend. It was busy, as expected, but there were plenty of showers/ toilets, so never had to wait.
Showers/ toilets were not the most luxurious, but did the job, and were clean.
It appeared to be a very child friendly site, but it did have an adult only field higher up where you were well out of the way of any ball games etc.
Pub next to site was very good, as was the pub in Wentnor. This is an excellent location to go walking directly onto the Long Mynd - we didn't need to use the car all weekend due to the various walks around the site.
Overall - a very good site in a great location, and would visit again.

We stayed here for the bank holiday weekend with friends on a last minute whim and had a great weekend.
The site is very child-friendly as it has a shallow stream running through it, which is great for paddling and fishing. You may need to take cream to treat nettle stings though - our children seemed to be very attracted to them! There is also a small play area but we found the river more enticing.
We were in a large field with tents around the edge only, leaving the middle free for football, rounders etc. Plenty of pocket money toys in the shop to keep our gang amused.
The facilities were fine but showers needed 20p which had to be put in the meter outside the cubicle and the 7 mins started immediately.
The pub adjoining the site also caters well for children with palatable if unremarkable food. There is another pub 2 mins further but we didn't try that one. We visited Bishop's Castle village which is gorgeous with lovely shops and cafes.
In all, I'd recommend the site if you have children, or a dog as they are well catered for too.
