We have just returned from a one night stay
The area is outstanding. The staff are very pleasant and very helpful
The toilets are perfect. The park is very clean and tidy. Children's play area is in a good place where every one can see
The shop is very good value
There is only one sticky point and that is nothing to do with the park but it is the pub the inn on the green its a pleasant enough place but is douse not seam to be a very child friendly place.
The only thing that might go down well on the site might be a little snack bar /tea room.

We were only here for 1 soggy night in April. The site mainly had caravans on it probably because they had a deal where caravans could be left all week for free if you came again the following weekend.
There is a river running through the site and strategically placed bird boxes - we had a nuthatch near us.
There were plenty of toilets and showers which always seemed clean.
The Inn on the Green pub is practically on site and came in very handy due to the wet weather! The food was only average however.
Ludlow and Shrewsbury are both not too far away.
A nice site that we probably would have appreciated more in better weather.

Have just returned from a very enjoyable weekend at The Green. Although very busy (due no doubt to the wonderful weather) the site still felt spacious and uncrowded.
Staff very welcoming and helpful. Site clean and tidy. Shower / toilet block quite busy but never had to wait, can get a bit messy evening and early morning before cleaning but it was a very busy weekend. 20p showers nice and hot and ample time. Good wash up facilities.
Having read previous reviews, we ate at the Crown on Friday evening, this is only 1/2 a mile away from the site, but up a fairly steep hill with no pavement, so we drove. Food was very good and reasonably priced, we both had the pies! Locals were very friendly. We didn't eat at the Inn on the Green (just outside site entrance) but had a very enjoyable and reasonably priced couple of drinks on Sat evening, it was very busy and seemed to be doing a lot of food. Landlord and staff very friendly.
Would recommend a visit to Bishops Castle and coffee in the Castle Hotel terrace, terrific value and views.
We will definitely return to this site.

Visited this site several times over the years as a kid with cadet groups and this is the first time I've come back with my own children!
A busy site but well maintained and ideally located for Shropshire hills. Pitches are smallish but adequate. We visited on a bank holiday weekend so it was perhaps more busy than at other times. Our pitch on the top meadow was lovely and level and a bit of a sun-trap (when the sun shone that is!). The on-site pub was child friendly and served some nice locally brewed beers - always a bonus. The pet goat was a hit with my 2 year old!
The on-site shop stocked everything you would need and was open at convenient times.
Facilities are clean and adequate but were in need of a bit of updating if I'm really honest. There is a play area for the children but it's more for older kids and could be made better.
Bishops Castle is very close by and worth a visit if only to sample the delights at the towns two breweries! Bridges, Rattlinghop Hill and Stiper Stones are also a must if you like to get out and walk.
This site is very close to my heart and close to my home so we will definitely be visiting again.

The weather was perfect and this allowed the children to spend hours in the stream looking for bugs. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a meal at the Inn on the Green, it was ok but I would try elsewhere next time.
For us, there were just two things that would improve this site. The children's play area is very basic and would benefit from being upgraded. Secondly, the toilet waste disposal area was just a manhole cover on the floor and the hose on the tap was so short I was unable to clean the waste unit out. I'm sure this could be easily improved.
Overall we had a very enjoyable time and plan to return later in the year.

Having read very good reviews of this site, my family and I decided to head off to the Green Caravan Park for 3 nights over the Bank Holiday weekend. Admittedly we picked a not-so-good weekend to go in terms of the weather but I have to say I was a little disappointed with the site. The shower and washing-up areas were adequate but every time I visited, were not very clean. I guess this was partly because it was a busy weekend and not all campers are considerate users of such facilities. The children's play area was small and I think would really benefit from a bit of an over-haul. The main road directly outside the park can be very busy and then also quite noisy (but suppose this is less of a problem if pitched further away). Overall we had a pleasant stay

The location is the undoubted jewel in the crown for this site - it is set in beautiful hills and countryside, a real treat. The river running through the site itself is also a real gem - we were looking forward to splashing about with our four year old. Unfortunately our weekend coincided with some generally cold and wet weather, so we missed out on all of that. I think that with some better weather, later in the season, our experience would have been altogether better.
As it was, the facilities were impeccably clean, the shop was very well stocked, and the local pub (just at the entrance of the site) was a real lifesaver. The play equipment was pretty poor though, and since it was too cold for the river, there wasn't too much else for youngesters to do (again not helped by the weather, which kept most of them inside tents / caravans).
It is also worth asking for a pitch next to the river: ours was away from there and although it was just a few metres, it somehow didn't feel as nice.
We had a good weekend, and will probably come back to explore the area more thoroughly in the future - but we'll make sure it's going to be a sunny weekend.

This site was recommended to us by my parents and we weren't disappointed.
It is a lovely well laid out site. It is a large site but due to the way the fields are separated it doesn't feel like a large site. No noise after about 10pm
We turned up late but clear instructions had been left for us and staff were very friendly and helpful when we checked in the next morning.
We were in the first field by the road, there is some road noise but mainly farm vehicles so wasn't a problem over night. I don't imagine there was any road noise in the bottom field by the stream. The pitches are generous and well laid out with room for kids to play.
Facilities are good and well laid out, 20p for a long hot shower. Well equipped shop and another just up the road. Pub was busy but friendly - the landlord even topped up the pints!
There are several walks from the site so could easily not use the car for a weekend, but also convenient for Shrewsbury and surrounding attractions.

The site was well maintained with plenty of space. The shower block was always really clean and everything worked well. The showers were hot although the pressure was a little low, but I have used a lot worse!
Loads on hot water for dish washing etc. The shop was well stocked with daily basics. We had meal at the Crown which was excellent, recommend the home made pies!
Long Mynd great for walking and lots of pretty villages to explore. Would return to this campsite and recommend to anyone.

Decided to camp here for our last weekend of the year.
Visited Bishop's Castle which was a lovely little town, plenty to see and do in the local area. As said befor, the Crown puib at the top of the hill is a lovel little place with great food and wonderful prices, with brill views over the hills.
Now, £16 a night in Oct to me seems a little steep. We decided to ignore this as there where some really good reviews on here. It was just myself and other half with a small tent and when we turned up there was no-one to see us in, just a sign saying pitch where we like. So we did. We pitched with the electric hook ups and we where the only tents there with the rest being made up of caravans. Now this is where it starts.
The little shop on site was only open for half an hour a day. This may be due to the season timings. In the showers, only four of the six showers where working, and as said before you get 7 mins for 20p. However, 2 mins of this seven was warming up. I have issues with paying for showers when the pitch fee is more than normal. Also, clean showers but blinking cold. Glad we didn't have a four year old with us.
The dog walking area was really good, with the river and field walks. Didn't see the goats, but goodness, we heard them.
