Lovely camp site and surroundings. Arrived though in the worst weather possible! Paid up front and was told where to pitch, and was told the ground was wet. Saw ours and other pitches and had to find the best place to pitch as we were surrounded by pools of water. We pitched up but the ground underneath was so soft like on a water bed. I think we should have been warned prior to leaving and given the option whether to come or not, knowing we were in a tent. We did get our van stuck and the wardens were very helpful and towed us off by tractor. The ground then turned into a mud pit and the river wasn't the lovely trickle I expected for the kids to enjoy.
The toilets were kept clean considering the weather and good washing up area within that block. The shower I had was hot and nice, but my daughters went freezing cold after 5 minutes and she put 40p in for 14 minutes (it is 20p for 7 minutes). Another lady said the same thing.
Shop is open from 9am till 8pm and up the lane is another shop with more produce which is open everyday same hours and very friendly.
A Nice pub just up the lane and very friendly, but they don't accept dogs so couldn't eat in, which would not have bothered me if it had not been raining. Also found this with other surrounding pubs.
I think this site would have been the perfect camp site if we would have had the weather but everything was way too muddy and ground was sodden for anyone to enjoy the park and river. The water on the ground was being scraped off to try stop the mini lakes and the wardens had their work cut out this weekend! They said it has properly dried out from all the winter floods we have had.
We packed up a day before while we had one nice dry day, where we got stuck again and had to be pulled out by tractor.

Stayed at this site over the May bank holiday weekend. A lovely peaceful site with the lovely sound of the river that runs through it, which the children loved paddling in, in their wellies & catching eels in their nets.
We arrived after reception was closed, a note was left on the window telling us which pitch to go to. The owner came round the following morning to check all was ok. They are very friendly & helpful.
It is a little tight tuning into the campsite especially with a twin axel so take care.
Facilities are clean & there are plenty of toilets & showers in each. Showers are 20p which lasts a while but are not very powerful. The shop is well stocked for any essentials & there is also a village shop just across the road.
We ate at the nearby Crown Inn & can recommend their delicious pies!
Lots to see & do in the surrounding area, we visited Powis Castle in nearby Welshpool which was well worth a visit.
Bishops Castle is a short drive away for shops & takeaways.
Will return to this site again.

The site itself is lovely, with a shallow river running through it which is great for the kids to play in and plenty of grassy pitches. The washing up facilities are good and the toilets are ok. It is expensive for what you get and the customer service was awful
We went on the wettest weekend of the school half term with another family, and not to be put off by the british weather we adjusted to suit the weather, putting a shelter up between the 2 tents so the kids had somewhere dry to eat and play. The electric hook up kept going off and when we finally found someone to come and look at it, they didn't fix the electric but stated we needed to pay another £5 per night for the shelter!(with no hook up refund offered at the end)
The dog walking area involved lifting my dog over a stile - quite a challenge for for my 25kg labrador!(a small dog would get under it but nothing larger than a spaniel)
Overall I was really disappointed about could be an awesome site. If you do go to this site the pub next to it does great food.

Our first visit to this site and one of the more expensive ones we have stayed in. The pitch we were offered was the one we requested near the stream (very very bad decision) for our four tents. The rain came down day and night for four of the six days. The whole site was flooded and the river was rising scarily. The drainage pipe that ran the length of the pitches had its exit under water level of the river. The owners eventually with the help of my hubbie dug down to the pipe next to our tent to try to drain some water away.
The electric was poor, you could only use one item at a time or it would trip and for large chunks of the six days we had no electric at all. The washing block on the plus side had very hot water but was in a barn type building with no heating at all, they were however clean and well attended to. There is a washing machine and tumble drier to use but the tumble drier is temperamental and will let you put money in and not work regularly.
For the £180 pounds I paid for six days the facilities were not good enough, even if it was sunny and hot. We felt abandoned for the most part. We did see a lot of rats in the river but they did not come up onto the bank or bother us. The final straw came when we packed up. We realised it would be muddy so were prepared, what we didn't bargain on was the disgusting smell from the mud it was vile. I cried and cried as my new tent smelt to high heaven. I complained to the owner but was offered a hose if I dragged the smelly tent and ground sheet up to them and that was as far as their customer care went. No refund for lack of electric. The children's play equipment that is outdated its right next to the main entrance as the cars come blind down the steep hill.
If you visit you must must go to the pub, Inn on the Green. The food was amazing, friendly staff loved it, the amount of food was HUGE! Wouldn't visit again but it you prepared for the more back to nature kind of camp then go for it.

We went for an Easter weekend break, booked two pitches for ourselves and friends. Warm welcome on arrival and an excellent site overall. Site experienced some problems with electric but we were kept updated and the owners did their utmost to rectify the problem. Being a bank holiday it was difficult to get an electrician out to the problem but this didn't spoil the weekend for us. The owners walked to every pitch and gave a voucher for a free weekend as a means to compensate for the problem which we though was brilliant. Would recommend this site and would return again.

Spent a pleasant week on this site, walking the Long Mynd and surroundings. An excellent site with a number of separate pitch areas and a few small dells for tents. All located along the banks of a stream that runs through the site.
EHU area has both grass and hard pitches with 16a supplies.
A central toilet / shower block divided into male and female has app 6 toilets and showers per side. The block is an old building but kept very clean during our visit. Showers are of the ' drizzle' variety and 20p for 7 minutes but adequate.
There is a water tap just outside the shower block and we didn't see any others on the EHU pitches, but didn't look too hard. There is a waste disposal point with a manhole cover you need to lift up, discreetly located between 2 hedges.
There's a good size dog walking field just across the stream.
No kids on site while we were there, but we would guess its paradise for kids in the stream as witnessed by a number of mini dams noted along its length!
There's a small shop on site open for a period each day that has a few basics, sweets, biscuits etc and essential shrimping nets for the kids. Staff all friendly and helpful and directions left on the door for those arriving when the shop is closed.
Just outside the site is a small village shop and also the pub!
The Inn on the Green is a really great pub with real ales (sampled them all and all were superb). Had a few good meals there and you must try the burger light bite. Superb 1' thick beef burger on Chiabatta bun, with a fresh salad portion and tons of nice chips. And only £3. 50.
The pleasant site, the stream running alongside, the staff, pub and local shop add up to an excellent site.
Recommended!

Just returned from a lovely few days at this site
Weather was lovely. Nice site in the quiet time
Lovely bird song and heard the owls every night
The inn on the green just outside the gates is lovely
We had a lovely meal and friendly staff. At the weekend with the regulars who visit it can get noisy and clicky, the access on to the site could do with being widened it can be tight to get in.
Handy for walks and shop across the road. May visit again when its quiet

Been back to the Green over the past three years at least 7 times. Excellent site. Toilets and showers always available and clean. Dishwashing facilities available, but in a caravan not used. The dog always loves his dog walk. Local pubs friendly with good food. Children love riding, biking, scooting and walking around the site (not that we have any). Wentnor has so many events and we always feel at home. Celebrated the wedding, golden jubilee etc and they always have a street party. Will be back.

Visited The Green for a short three day break at bank holiday we found it very relaxing, with lovely level pitches and a choice of pitch. The reception shop is well stocked with all the basics. There is a pub at the top of the drive that serve excellent food. The site operates a quiet time between 10 pm and 8. 00 am. Children seem to love the small stream that runs through the site and small play area. The shower toilet block could do with updating but no complaints always clean, showers 20p for 7 minutes. We enjoyed our stay at The Green and will certainly be returning. A little Gem of a site !

This is a lovely and peaceful site in stunning countryside with plenty of walks in the area. We did the Wentnor Red Kite + Plover walk (4 1/2 miles) and took a leisurely 3 hours. Great to see the gilders too.
Didn't use the nearby pub (seems fine) but used the Crown in the village some half mile away. Excellent home-made pies (especially steak, ale + Stilton that comes with chips + vegetables).
A pretty river traverses the site (creating a rain-like noise under canvass!) Washrooms are very clean. Red hot water here and to wash-up. Showers are bit slow but hot enough and only 20p.
Good choice of pitches. Sunny plateau and shady dingles. Shall return to explore more. Montgomery worth a visit.
