What a lovely site. We decided to visit this site after reading the reviews and were not disappointed. We could pitch our tent wherever we liked and there was plenty of space despite it being summer hols and a glorious weekend of weather! The small shop came in handy for the normal little things you forget (oh, we forgot our meat for the BBQ but thankfully the Post Office come grocers had sausages and burgers etc), which is just a small walk away. The shop on site let you re-freeze your blocks and we also put a couple of bottles of wine in there too. My little boy enjoyed the playground, which we could easily see from our tent and also the stream running through the site. Remember to take some other shoes/sandles for the little ones to paddle in. Toilets/showers very clean but nowhere to plug anything into so don't bother taking hairdryer etc. There is a hairdryer there (20p). The site is in the middle of nowhere, which is great, but not easy to just nip out for things. Nearest supermarket is Craven Arms.

A beautiful site in a quiet valley surrounded by trees with a small river running through the site, which is nice for children to catch tiddlers. Arrived on a Saturday (early July) and there were a lot of caravans, went out on the Sunday and returned to a virtually empty site. Didn't bother us in the slightest but others may not enjoy the peace and tranquillity, but to be fair school holidays hadn't started. The owner Karen was very friendly and helpful. The toilet block was large with plenty of loos and showers and always clean but it was a bit of a trek if you were in one of the furthest fields because its situated in the middle of the campsite. We had a hard standing pitch but the awning was pitched on the grass at the side and when it rained overnight we woke up to an indoor swimming pool. The site does seem to get waterlogged very quickly but we have had more than our fair share of rain and flooding this summer. Overall a very nice site in a beautiful location but it is a bit off the beaten track when you want to go anywhere. It would also benefit from some street lighting as it does get very dark at night and you definitely need a torch to get to the loos.

Had awful weather but the site was lovely, had great fun watching the goats escaping, and the kids loved the stream, so much so we left our van there and are returning again this weekend, on a bad point (during the bad weather I was amazed at the amount of caravanners that drive to the showers and damaged the grass in the process)

We went to this site for three nights and were more than surprised at the beautiful surroundings. Sheep in a nearby field, listening to owls at night and watching lots of children enjoying themselves in the nearby stream. The facilities were good. The local post office had all we needed and the surrounding villages are worth a visit (by car or bike). There is a pub just off the camp site and they were very friendly. Pitches were more than adequate and everyone was friendly and helpful. We would easily recommend this campsite.

First visit (on a bank holiday weekend). Showers extra, washing machine extra, tumble dryer extra, hair dryer extra. Water hot. Site very pretty, full of wildlife and well kept. This site is very large so if you are looking for a 'quiet' bank holiday weekend I'd recommend paying a visit out of peak season. We left early because of this reason but would consider a return visit when it's a lot quieter.

We found this site quite pleasant for a weekend, the loo block was dated, and never seemed 100% clean, the washing up area, although indoors was gloomy and not well lit.
There was a recycling 'facility' ie everybody threw their rubbish over into a fenced off area so that it could be taken away, hmmm not ideal!
We were glad not to be near the loo block because rear of the local pub is very close there and the noise from the generator or cooling motors or whatever it was would have been unbearable, as it was we were far enough away for it to be just a dull roar!
On the up-side, the stream was pleasant and would have been lovely for kids to paddle and hunt for tiddlers in. Unfortunately the weather wasn't with us and that always colours ones opinions but I don't think we'll be re-visiting The Green.

We've just come back from a lovely stay at The Green. We had a non-EHU pitch close to the shallow stream, the kid goats and the small play area, which was great for the children. Luckily we weren't too far from the shower block/toilets either. The pitches seemed to be reasonably level and well spaced. The site is very rural, with just a pub and post office/village store nearby. The pub is open all day at the weekends (after 6pm weekdays) and serves a good range of reasonably priced food until 9pm.
There are other facilities not mentioned on the campsite's website: there is a hair dryer in the ladies shower block, a washing machine/dryer and freezer pack facilities (all have an extra charge). The onsite shop sell a rage of basic esssentials and the owners are friendly and helpful. As we stayed over a bank holiday weekend, the site was full and very busy, which meant that it was still quite noisy well into the night. The sheep then woke us up at around 5am each morning! There are lots of local attractions within easy reach and there is a decent sized supermarket (Tuffins) at Craven Arms, a few miles away.

Just to add to other reviews. It is a bit pot luck on the pitches - some have much more space than others. We were lucky as we arrived early and got a spot backing onto the brook. I don't agree with the toilet block though. I converted cattle shed is not my idea of luxury! We were here 3 years ago and it doesn't look like any maintenance / decorating has been done. Also, it gets very cold at night and with no heating it's best get the washing done during daylight.
Best part is the location. We also love Shropshire and is great for cycling - but keep an eye on the kids as the lanes get very narrow and not many pavements around here!. Anyone manage to get up the hill to Wentnor - past the Post Office? Definite heart attack stuff. But what a view when you get there.

I have just had the most wonderful three nights camping. I was a little nervous at the outset because it was my first camping experience and I was taking with me an even more nervous 7 year old boy. What if I felt scared and vulnerable, was my first thought, as a single mother these things matter. What if I can't get to sleep and there are bears were Olivers worries! But from the moment we arrived to the reluctant departure we were in heaven.
Firstly, of course, there were no bears! But that was forgotten the minute his eyes hit the playground and the enticing brook which runs the whole length of the campsite. So safe and shallow and magical. Fishing nets are available for sale, at very low cost like all other things in the shop, and hours and hours were spent with him safely dabbling in the stream which is shallow enough for toddlers even. The toilets and showers were immaculately clean and a delight to use. The water was hot and wonderful.
The campsite itself was tidy and well maintained and everyone respected this by collecting rubbish and recycling. And as to feeling vulnerable - there was not a second that I felt anxious. I erected my tent, of which I was proud, but had I had a problem I would have been able to ask other campers around or the family who run the site, everyone was friendly and approachable.
I have a love of Shropshire going back to my childhood days and I was not disappointed, the walks around the campsite take you up to spactacular views over the Long Mynd and surrounding countrside and the wildlife is everywhere.
I am planning a return visit very soon. Perhaps this time my daughter will come now that I can tell her she can plug in her hair straighteners. Or maybe I will employ the grandparents help so that I can return alone. Whatever I will return!
