We have just got back from a very wet and cold week (Jubilee week!) but really enjoyed the site. The pitches were spacious and all the tents and caravans were spread out over at least four/five separate areas.

The showers and toilets although dated were lovely and clean, the water was really hot. The shop was well stocked with camping accessories, bread and basics and not expensive!

The area is beautiful with lovely towns to visit if you can't do much hill walking, Ludlow is a must.

The owners were really helpful and friendly, it's definitely a site on our re-visit list.

Lovely site and people, site is all clean and tidy and as 15 acres plenty of space to move around.

Our pitch was huge and our view was the lovely River running right through the site.

Toilet block is dated and you need 20p for a weak shower but the place was very clean and the water was hot so you cant complain, unless your very fussy.

Super little shop on site plus a local store over the road and the benefit of a pub at the site entrance, which we didn't visit as we chose to visit and eat at the Crown at the top of the hill which was wonderful.

Regarding dogs the site has a truly superb dog exercise area on the other side of the river, well fenced and a great place to use.

Would we visit again, yes for sure.

First weekend in September and the site was very quiet. Very pretty rural location. Kids play area is basic but kept our two under-5s entertained sufficiently during our three-night stay. The showers/toilets are situated in one half of a barn and although very old were quite sufficient. Showers were nice and hot.

I'd highly recommend the local pub for their real ale - choice of four including a delicious Shropshire Gold. Child friendly and they provide a selection of games and books which kept our kids entertained for a couple of hours.

All in all, a nice site and a pleasant weekend.

For the middle weekend in September we were pleasantly surprised by the lack of numbers. Just 7 tents spread out over loads of space and most of the caravans were empty. There was no pressure on the facilities and we often had the place to ourselves.

Staff were friendly and allowed us to camp where we liked. The toilets and facilities were clean and the water very hot. Our only complaint would be the showers - there was very little pressure and it was quite frustrating as the air temperature was cool to say the least. We understand they are revamping these during the winter and putting a pump into the plumbing. This would make a huge difference.

The site is amazingly quiet yet has the benefit of an adjacent pub, a small on-site shop, the village stores about 100m from the site entrance and yet another pub at the top of the village.

The Inn on the Green (next to the site) served up a range of typical pub meals at (to us east anglians) very reasonable prices and the quantity was almost too much in some cases. The beers (3 local real ales) were priced at £2. 50 compared to £3, 20 at home. Very good value from friendly staff; the pub has been under new ownership since the Spring.

The Crown, at the top of the hill, also has a great range of ales (4 in total)and offers a good menu, again more pub than gastro. The pies were excellent and a speciality.

We were here for the walking and it didn't disappoint despite the weather providing plenty of rain. Great walks particularly on the Long Mynd and Stiperstones. If you like exposed single track roads, take the one up to the Long Mynd on its east side - narrow and a hairy ride for the passenger!

We would certainly return to this site.

Just come back from a night here in our Campervan. All in all a lovely site with friendly, helpful staff, in a beautiful location. The site is set along a river so most pitches are alongside or not far from the banks, if you have kids fishing rods from the shop are a must (just don't expect them to catch anything but mud and leaves!) For tenters, 'the Island' and both Dingles are the prime riverside spots, we were on the hookup field, even this had plenty of little shingle beaches adjoining it.

Facilities, on granted a fairly quiet weekend, were spotless, situated in what appeared to be a converted barn, which weren't the poshest I have seen but were more than adequate, clean, and the building is totally in keeping with the rural nature of the site. There is a small play area for the kids which our 2 enjoyed.

Beware the fantastic beer to be had locally-it wasn't our plan to drink so much of it! However the Crown in Wentnor sells delicious local ales, and is very friendly, and The Inn on the Green at the site entrance has a welcoming atmosphere and sold real ale too (although if I am picky, the Crown's is better kept).

The local walks are attractive rambles through the hilly areas between the Long Mynd and Stiperstones, I can recommend the Adstone Walk which takes you over Adstone Hill to Bridges, which has a very good recently renovated pub selling. You guessed it. In a beautiful setting along the same river that adjoins the site.

We really enjoyed our stay here and look forward to coming back next year!

Just back from a super bank holiday weekend at the Green caravan and camping site. This was our first camping trip in nearly 5 years, and the first one with all three of our kids (2, 4, 8) so we weren't quite sure how it would go - we needn't have worried!

The site is located right in the countryside, cows, sheep, hills, peace, and next to the stream and nestled in the trees. If you want to be right in the trees ask for the Dingle, or the Play Field or Plateau are near the stream but a bit more open. The greens are well maintained and although it was a busy bank holiday the facilities weren't jam packed.

Very friendly check in and staff always cheery and ready to offer help and advice (esp like when our car battery was flat and we needed a jumpstart!).

Our children loved paddling in the stream so wellies are a must. The shop was well stocked and not too expensive, lots of sweets and pocket money items for the children.

The 'Inn on the Green' pub is 2 minutes from your tent, and we watched the footy there Saturday (with beer & lunch) and the next went for Sunday carvery - which was excellent (£40 for 5 with wine).

The shower/toilet block could do with a revamp, but was kept clean and wasn't too crowed, with showers only 20p.

Bishop's Castle is ten minutes away, and has shops/petrol/banks etc (and a nice little free museum!).

All in all a great choice for families.

We arrived and checked in at reception, having found the site very easily. We had already paid and had requested a pitch close to the stream for the children to play (3 y. O. And 5 y. O. ). We were told we had the choice of 2 fields and could pitch where we liked. We opted for the Rally field, next to the stream, on fairly level ground. There were only 3 other tents there, all really well spaced out, lovely.

Within minutes the children were off playing football in the middle of the field, very friendly neighbours.

Got invited for a quick drink at the local, which proved wonderful. A few games for the children provided, really good prices, and I'm told, very good value and generous portioned food dishes. Again, really friendly.

Back on site, we visited the children's play area - swings, climping frame and a balancing pole. Small but perfectly formed. Reception housed a small shop stocked with useful food items you may have forgotten, children's treats and camping spares.

The toilets, showers and pot washing area were all part of an old barn. The building itself is a bit damp and smelly, but the toilets, showers etc were very clean and had fresh flowers on display. The cleanliness did unfortunately, deteriorate over the course of the 3 days we were there.

We didn't have EHU, but the staff were happy to let us blow up our air beds using a point in the barn.

All in all, a really friendly site with good facilities, ideal for the children, nothing too much trouble.

This is the first caravan site we have ever stayed at!

The site is very tidy and very well signposted, showers (takes 20p’s for 7min) and toilets are very clean and smell nice, even the chemical toilet area is clean

The little shop is well stocked and the play park is good for the kids my two loved it

The lady was very kind because I told her it was the first time with the van and she found us an easy pitch

I would recommend this site to anyone

Only one little bad bit NO TV reception and that’s the only downside

Just returned from a pleasant 4 days at this site. On arrival we were given a choice of where to pitch, which is excellent. Each area had it's plus points.

The island was beautiful and peaceful within trees but less sun, the plateux got full evening sun but less room for ball games, or the rally field, some parts sloping but with unmarked pitches, sun, shelter and stream and room to play. This is where we opted for. Perfect.

Shower blocks are a bit dated and charged 20p which we didn't know until arrival. Very hot water for washing up, beware! Children played in stream, (2x 14yr olds, a 12, and a 9 yr old) or cricket on field.

Quite concerned for the on site goat. We saw it very unhappy and angry when left in full sun all day tethered by rope for 12+ hours, granted there was a bowl of water but still not very nice conditions for any animal. I don't think David Bellamy would approve! Last night we were kept awake by music from the neighbouring pub. Not sure whether it was Kareoke or a live band but it sounded awful, and yet the site has a no noise policy after 10pm! Quite frankly I prefered listening to our neighbouring campers singing with their guitar. All in all I would come back to this site.

Just returned from a fantastic weekend at this site. This was our second visit to the Green Caravan Park having been here once a year ago on our first ever caravanning trip!

Lovely site, really friendly with a great pub next to it. Fantastic scenery - the Longmynd is great for walking, or just drive up and take in the breathtaking views.

The site is well maintained, level with a stream running through it that the kids loved playing in. The pitches are large, with plenty of choice from shaded to full sun, stream side to field.

I really recommend this site, especially for families with young kids. The kids can roam freely in safety and have plenty of room to play, scoot, cycle, fly kites - all the usual that kids love to do when camping. Our two year old and four year old made lots of friends and spent every minute of our time there playing outside. Very relaxing site for mum and dad too.

The shop is really well priced with lots of 'pocket money' toys and the usual essentials. Friendly and helpful staff too.

You do have to pay 20p for the shower, but to be honest we didn't mind that, as everything else about the site and the location is superb.

The pub is well worth a visit. Good local real ales, lovely home cooked food, and very reasonable priced. Portion sizes are generous, so make sure you're hungry! Kid's meals from £3. Try one of their cupcakes too - really good!
