We have stayed on this site before & went back for the Bank Holiday Week. The weather was pretty bad over the actual holiday weekend but we had no problems with our pitch considering the amount of rain we had & when the weather did clear up the site dried very quickly. The pitches are mainly level & we were camped right next to the small river & my 3 children thoroughly enjoyed this as they did some fishing, paddling.
The Bats that visited at night were fantastic to watch. Play area probably to young for my children now although plenty of space for football & cricket. Usually a lovely quiet site but was full over bank holiday so was busier & is advisable to book. The Staff were very helpful & friendly & the toilets & showers are well suitable & kept clean.
Surrounding area is absolutely beautiful plenty of walks, with stunning scenery. The Long Mynd very close. Two local pubs one near the site entrance & one a short walk up quite a steep hill.
Will definitely go back to this site as we always feel relaxed when there.

Visited this site for four nights during half term. Facilities OK but a bit basic. Site was so full of kids we felt like we were camped in the middle of the play area, probably because we were right by the part of the river where the kids play in but sometimes it just got a bit much. The units were really packed in with not much space between.
Pub up the top of the hill was nice with good food, pub near site quite friendly with OK food. Surrounding area beautiful but I agree with previous review there is not much to do and a few days would be the limit.
Don't think I would return due to the cramped pitches and the rubbish play area, also there was no big space for kids to play so they ended up playing all around the site.

Arrived at this site to a friendly greeting from the owners. We were shown to our pitch but had to wait a while as it was occupied-no problem with this. Pitch level and well drained and firm backing onto the stream.
A really nice site and quite large - however there does need to be another toilet/shower block as at busy times queues formed - not only for the wc's but the washing up facility - we tried 3 times one morning and gave up washing up until later. The toilet block resembles a large public toilet which is part of the barn, lots of hot water and good & clean, no sign of any heating for the colder months.
We expected a nice & tranquil stay but the first 2 days had to endure loads of kids running around & charging around on bikes. A lot quieter after they had all gone home on the Sunday - peace at last!. Plenty of re-cycling bins for bottles etc, BUT other rubbish including bags of food waste etc are kept on the floor in a wooden enclosure in no skip or bin - totally unacceptable nowadays - open to all types of 'visitors'. Not the best site we've visited - may consider going again but when the kids are at school and the rubbish issue is sorted.

Booked for 4 nights here stayed for 3 mainly due to the constant rain but also because there is nothing to do with 2 children within 20 miles unless you like walking or castles. Mickey millers indoor play area is in craven arms about 10 miles away and they charge parents the same price as the kids for the privelage of supervising your children (which I found a tad strange as I didnt fancy a go in the ball pit) The site itself is clean and the pitches in the electric hook up area are huge , flat and very well drained as was proved with 3 days and nights of heavy rain. Showers are 20p a time but would recommend you take 2 x 20p pieces with you as you get about 5 minutes of a trickle of water (hot though a bit too hot). The stream mentioned in other reviews ran at the back of our tent but isnt as shallow in places as mentioned as my 3 year old found out, so caution with younguns is reccomended as this can quickly become headheight after heavy rain. The site is very rural but seemed a bit soulless in our pitch as the view we had was a road in front of us and caravans opposite with no large green area to have a game of cricket etc. with the kids. There is a small play area in the tent field but again is very basic and kids soon got bored and headed straight for the deeper than expected 'stream'.
Bishops castle is around 7 miles away and is your best bet to get your shopping and also has a chip shop (not the best fish I have had but chips ok), a cantonese takeaway and an indian and plenty of pubs of which I never got the chance due to the drive back but looks very quaint. There is a pub at the sites entrance which I popped into with my son as we went for a stroll (The inn on the green), which despite other reviews, I found to be a very relaxed family pub, very friendly staff and other campers and none of the clicky locals I had read about. The pub also had the best views of the site from the garden and serves food, although we didn't eat there so can't comment
All in all the site is ok, but if I was looking for just scenery I have stayed at sites which were much more scenic but also had more of interest in the surrounding areas so this site wasn't for us.

Stayed Whit-Bank holiday weekend, 4 night minimum stay.
Site is clean, tidy. Facilities basic but clean. Showers room is VERY cold. 20p for shower that didnt manage me and daughter(5). She was very cold. 20p hairdryers. Dishwash room with washer and dryers. Park is basic, could do with a revamp, a bit more for size of site and amount of kids that were there. Maybe another park at other end of site would help. Billy goats (2) friendly. River is shallow in places, nice for kids.
A torch is a must as are wellies. The side of site we were on gets very water logged (and it wasnt riverside either!). Our awning was full of puddles and our shoes were ruined. Pitches are level to a degree, we were between a few ditches which filled quickly with water.
We wanted to book a pitch on roadside or riverside only to be told they were for caravans, this was not the case on arrival so needless to say were a little annoyed.
The owner wasn't very friendly and the few times I ventured into shop she hadn't got a smile for us or kids, kinda give me your money and go away.
Shop has basics, post office over road has a little more. Pub at top of site does lovely meals, prices as normal, beer good and priced. Pub at top of hill, accross road is a trek if you have young kids but worth it for a nice walk out and drink without driving. Bishops castle a few miles away, Co-op and a butchers, petrol station. Nice quaint little village.
Doubt will return, site out of 10 is probably 6 only due to value for money.

Our party comprised 2 couples and we have just returned from Green Caravan Park after a great weekend.
Site very well kept, with a beatiful babbling river bounding one side. Toilets, showers and wash up rooms clean and tidy. Basic provisions available from site shop, the rest from PO over the road. This site is ideally situated for cycling and walking which was the purpose of our visit - no need to jump in the car for 3 days.
Two pubs to choose from - one pub on doorstep which has been refurbed and is quite smart inside, though lacked atmosphere may be due to it being low season. We preferred the one up the hill in the village which is the locals choice with a good atmosphere and menu as you'd expect.
All in all a nice, well kept site in a lovely rural setting.

We stayed at The Green for the first time in Sept 2007, and loved it! Good level pitch backing onto the brook (hours of fun for ALL sizes of kids!) and friendly, helpful staff. There were only two tents in our group this time, it,s usually between 6 -8, but the other guys came for the day to 'check it out' and were made to feel just as welcome as us. Watch out for the 2008 invasion!

I have been camping all my life, and we've been to this site two or three times over the last few years. It is one of the nicest campsites I can remember staying at. Well located for walking and sightseeing, lovely quiet surroundings, and a stream to play in. The site itself is attractive to walk around, and I like the fact that there are a number of different fields so it feels as though you are on a smaller site than you are (I think tenting is preferable to caravanning here).
The shop has enough stuff to keep you topped up. The toilets are clean.
There is a pub at the entrance to the site, but we never went there - so I am interested that a previous reviewer says that it has been taken over and refurbished. Much better is the pub in Wentor village. It's only about a mile up the road, and it's all downhill on the way back - torches aren't needed. The pub is a real find - a real locals place that does great food and super beer. And pretty cheap. It's worth the effort and the hill is not as steep as one of the reviewers suggests.
I'm planning to camp there again next year.

We have a new tent now, and we went to this lovely relaxing site with everything you could possibly need for a well relaxed weekend. We pitched next to the play area, some might think "what did you do that for" but really it was fine, not noisy at all. The owners were really friendly. The children loved the freedom, baby goats kept you company along with the sheep and the owls at night. Lovely little stream for the children to paddle in. After reading other reviews on this site, don't know how people could moan about the facilities, 20p for an excellent shower and excellent hairdryer was well worth it. All the facilities were excellent what more do you want when you are camping(you can't expect the hilton, if you do, don't camp) The pub was a minutes walk and was very friendly too. This is a highly recommended site for some well earned R&R, we will be going back.

The site is absolutely beautiful, we only stayed a couple of days as this was our first time out in the caravan, so we wanted somewhere not too far from home. The site is great for all ages although there isn't much for the bored teenager to do. We took our 9 year old son with us and he should have come back web footed because he was never out of the lovely shallow river that runs through the site. We also took our two dogs with us for the first time and the dog walk was lovely along side the river with dog waste bins provided.
All the facilities were very adequate with clean toilets, wash basins, laundry area and showers. The site is really clean and tidy and well looked after, we will definitely be going again very shortly, infact we recommended it to our parents and they're going to relax for a few days this week. I would recommend this site to anyone who wants to get away from it all and just relax. I forgot to say there are two pubs near the site for drinks or meals, and a post office/ corner shop not far up the lane from the site. On the actual site there is a small park for children to play on safely. And as I mentioned before our son loved playing in the river, although I wouldn't advise you to let them play alone as some parts are a little deeper for the children or anyone to swim a little. Overall we loved the site very much and would gladly recommend it .Have fun.
