Lovely site, friendly and helpful welcome, We had a lovely view of the countryside. The facilities were immaculate and in a lovely building. The only slight problem with this was about 20 kids was doing the Duke of Edinburgh award and the only warm place for them on a night was the entrance to the facilities. I must say though, they were all well behaved and polite. As someone said Harrington was lovely but it is a shame there isn't a footpath to get there. Without cows I'm not a big fan of cows but we got through ok. We would return one day

Just returned from a 12 night stay at this excellent site.
Sue, Yvonne & Paul are only too pleased to help and answer any questions you may have, my question on the local fly fishing was answered by Yvonne with a 4 page print out with contact details to a lot of fisheries, now that to me was service.
The top field used for dog walking is idle, also look out at night for the owl sitting on top of the mini goal posts looking for his midnight snack!
The site is well situated being not too far from Leek, Buxton and Bakewell for a variety of shops, though Hartington just 1. 5 miles away has local shops that supply bread, milk, newspapers and basic groceries.
In Hulme End and Hartington there are also a choice of eating and drinking establishments that supply excellent local delicacies.
This was our first full holiday in our caravan only previously doing two or three night stays to get used to caravanning, we are glad we picked this site for our holiday.

Just back from weeks camping on this lovely site, the facilities are kept clean and the showers are really hot, loads of hot water no running out after 5 mins. The views are fantastic from the site great to just sit doing nothing. Owner Sue and wardens really friendly but not intrusive, nice to know if needed they are there. We will be going back and would certainly recommend this site.

Spent a lovely week at this beautiful site. Very clean and well maintained toilet block. Sue and her staff are very friendly and helpful. I recommend this site to everyone. The site is well situated for many attractions such as Dovedale, Tissington trail, Hartington and many more. I would have given a 10 but on the first night there was a large family group that were very noisy well after the 10pm curfew and you couldn't alter the temperature of the showers. Having said that these were small details and we shall be going back to this gem

Good site, the showers and toilet blocks were of high standard and always kept clean. The site is also very well maintained and the staff more than helpful.
If I visit again I will take my bike to see a bit more of the area. The village is nice but just a pub doesn't quite cut the mustard fee me.

Only planned to stay one night here initially as we didn't book so turned up on the off chance of a space.
We were welcomed on site and were told we could stay as long as we wanted up to the weekend. We arrived on the monday and stayed till thursday, perfect!
It was a clean, friendly and relaxing site. Toilets/showers were kept very clean.
Large play field for the kids to play football and our youngest learnt to ride his bike.
The whole area was kept clean and tidy
Will definitely be returning in the future.

This is a great camping site. We found it quiet, great views, very good facilities, good value given free showers and wifi. Wifi works around the top of the site closer to the facilities, so we had free wifi in the tent, a rare luxury. We were there four nights and found plenty of places to walk and cycle to without moving the car once. Almost no road noise on the site. Will certainly be back.

Just had a wonderful week at this camping site, the owner was lovely and made us feel very welcome, as did the wardens Yvonne & John.
The site was amazing great pitches & the facilities were very good the toilet & shower block was the best we have been in including the dishwashing area very clean with all you need.
The surrounding area was very scenic with a couple of lovely pubs nearby.
The Village of Hartington is very pretty and worth a visit, there are plenty of walks to do in the surrounding Dales plenty to do for all the family the site is very peaceful, other campers very very good and friendly this site I would recommend to everyone wanting to get away for some peace and quite will definitely go back.

Great directions and we were met on arrival by Sue who showed us to our pitch. As far as we could tell all pitches have a slight slope so take what ever levelling means you have and this will easily rectify this very slight slope. We didn't go during peak season and it could be a very tranquil site. Toilet block was good although not quite as amazing as some of the reviews, however it depends on what you are used to on a campsite. Lovely dog walking area and as our dogs are not friendly to others having a dogs on lead policy except when walking when the field is empty was a big draw, however no one seemed to adhere to this request even the large German Shepherd owned by the caretaker was off lead around camp at times although not a nuisance unless you count the barking when left alone in the caravan. I was surprised to see that leaving dogs in caravans while owners went out for the day was allowed, certainly 2 small dogs where left in their van for a few hours barking when anyone went near, obviously this did make the site slightly less tranquil, however not annoying just note worthy. I felt the site was pleasant, if a little scruffy at the entrance however I felt it was a little on the expensive side. All in all I would give an 7/10

Excellent site, sue the owner greeted us with a smile and so helpful, showed us to our pitch and introduced us to the wardens who made us feel that we were family. Very friendly and helpful. The toilet and shower block were out of this world, very clean with nice hot showers. The site itself was lovely and clean and the surroundings were excellent. Excellent to the fact we paid a £5 to stay till 5. 00 o'clock. This was the first site we used with our caravan and the super pitches are fab with separate water and waste facilities. There is no doubt in my mind we will be returning to Upper Hurst Farm
