Our third time of visiting this fantastic site, the facilities are second to none,
Despite it being a quite large site there are plenty of showers and toilets both spotlessly clean all the time,
The showers are mint, hot as you want and great water pressure, pot washing area is also excellent, an abundance of sinks so we never find ourselves queuing up.
We were pitched on the leisure field which was very flat and had a very good sized pitch,
The views overlooking the moors are great, easily the best site we have been on, probably the best in the country.

Without a doubt the best site we have ever visited (been touring for 8 years now)
The ablutions were superb and spotless, The landscaping beautiful, dog facilities brilliant and the Bar/Restaurant good value and sublime.
On arrival the owners took our Caravan and pitched it for us, then gave us a Boneo for each of the Dogs.
The pitch was a good size, nice and level and private, with its own water supply.
The shop was small but well stocked and reasonably priced.
The jewel in this sites crown is the Bar and restaurant. We had a meal on the Sunday for 4 at £100 with drinks. The food was as good as any I have had anywhere else (not just campsites)and we will be going back again.
The site itself is beautifully landscaped and just looks a treat to walk around.
We didn't really leave the site so I can't comment on the locale but it looked nice enough.
I think this site and the owners deserve the awards they regularly win.

We have just returned from a great holiday at Ross Park. We did not make the same mistake as last year and had 2 weeks rather than 1. The site is in great condition and the rear showers have been updated. We did not arrive until late Sunday night as we had a blowout on the way down but Mark still took our van to the pitch and levelled it for us. The Dog shower is now free of charge. This year we had a meal in the conservatory which was of a very high standard. There is plenty to see and do and we highly recommend.

Have just returned from a wonderful 3 nights break at Ross Park. We received a friendly welcome and our dog a got a biscuit on arrival!
We were shown to our pitch with no rush to settle up bill, just settle in and sort that later. The pitch was fab, in the leisure field with views across Dartmoor.
The play park was just across from our pitch enabling the children to be in view but have some freedom and fun.
The dog walk facilities were great, 2 off the lead enclosed areas; cherry orchard and beautiful meadow with trees and plenty or rabbits to chase!
The site facilities were also great, showers were big single rooms, great when you have little ones to tend too. Dishwasing area next to tent area along with dog shower, but unfortunately no toilet.
That has to be the only downside as a walk to the other side of the site to the toilet is a bit far with little ones who have to go now!
Loved this site, other tourists were friendly and happy to chat, the kids made loads of friends and the dog too! Will be going again for sure.

Following on from others reviews, we just spent a wonderful few days on this site - and what a site it is ! Showers with heated radiators to warm your towels on, each with its own toilet and sink - all clean, clean, clean. On arrival we were escorted to our pitch where the owner unhitched our caravan and parked it effortlessly onto its fully serviced pitch - fantastic.
There is a good play area for the children and lovely walks on site, if you had a dog (we don't) the facilities I would say are pretty outstanding - showers and grooming for dogs - unbelievable!
The on site shop is small, but has the essentials and they will even order in your favourite newspaper. A good bar and on site restaurant, games room and table tennis - our son has become hooked on table tennis now !
If only the weather could have behaved itself - hey hoy, but the site - 11/10 !

We have just returned from a 5 night break at Ross Park. We were greeted by Mark on his tractor (as per a previous reviewer) and he took us to our pitch and set it all up for us on levelling blocks which was fantastic. We wish all sites offered this service! There are lovely views from the site and if you walk down the adjacent lane and follow the footpath off to the left it brings you in to Ipplepen village.
The site is beautifully kept with plenty of bird life and rabbits to watch. There is a well stocked tourist information room and a reaonably well stocked shop. We didn't use the restaurant or bar but it looked in good order and smelled wonderful on Saturday evening! The toilet and shower facilities are immaculate and all individual cubicles which is great.
Newton Abbot and Totnes are both within easy reach and offer good shopping, the latter in particular has some lovely small boutique style shops, although quite expensive. We found fuel prices to be cheaper in Newton Abbot and Paignton areas rather than Totnes, by several pence per litre. For days out there are several National Trust properties within easy reach. We went to Coleton Fishacre near Kingswear which is a beautiful art deco furnished house with fabulous gardens and walks right down to the sea.
All in all a very enjoyable stay and will definitely return to Ross Park next time we are in the area.

Just returned from Ross Park, it is very true what everyone says its a very good site, with excellent facilities.
We were met by mark when we arrived, he led us to our site on his mini tractor and offered to put our caravan on the pitch I was surprised when my husband said yes.
Mark towed the caravan, levelled it on a brick and plank of wood checked it with his sprit level in a blink of eye we just watched in amazement.
Later that evening a couple arrived who refused his offer it took them ages to get sorted. So give yourself a treat when you arrive! Hope to return next year.

A beautiful site.
We were booked on to the leisure fields, the only tent area on the site. This area is along one edge of a large field with the EHUs behind. All day there were swallows looping around the field and buzzards flying above. The views were sensational.
Our dog was soooooo happy here! There is a field set aside for walking dogs off lead so you can also throw a ball for them. Next to the dog walk is a dog shower! A great idea for when your dog spends most of its time in the sea, asd ours does.
The conservatory is fantastic, we played bingo in it one night and just spent a quiet evening in there another. The games room is the best we have seen, cheap pool table and plenty of space invader type machines. To play table tennis you can borrow bats and a ball from the reception for no charge (some sites should take note of this).
There is a building set aside just for tourist information leaflets and very handy they are too.
The whole site is landscaped and full of flowers and interesting plants, I believe they win awards every year for the plant life etc.
Nearby there is Torquay, Paignton, Exeter etc but we had our best days out at Cockington Park and Decoy Park in Newton Abbot, 2 local country parks with enough to keep our 7 year old happy for the day. And dog friendly too. We also ate at the nearby Two Mile Oak, the best pub food we have ever had, try the steak and kidney pudding.
All in all a lovely site, so much so we booked up for 10 days next August as we left.

Absolutely lovely site. We arrived in heavy rain, we were met by Mark, who took us to our pitch then unhooked the camper and towed onto the pitch for us, he said get set up and then pop back to pay! Never had that before.
The pitches were massive, we had number 21. We had the camper, awning and car on it and still had room to sit out.
The showers were fantastic of the individual wet room style. The facilities for dogs were great, he was even given a bone shaped biscuit when we checked in. He loved the dog run and the conservation walk was lovely too, he enjoyed his shower too!
The bar was good and the entertainment on the Sunday night was good too. We did try to get in for the Bingo but as it was in the Conservatory we couldn't get a seat! We ate in the restaurant on the last night and it was very nice.
The staff are all very friendly and seemed to be always round and about, cleaning and cutting the grass and sorting out vacated pitches and then running the bar and restaurant at night!
Torquay is lovely, really enjoyed our days there, as was Cockington Village and Darmouth.
There was some road noise but you did get used to it.
All in all an excellent site and I'm sure we will visit again very soon.

Just returned from a short 5 night break (end Aug-begining of Sept) at Ross Park, our first visit to this site with me, wife & 8 year old grandson.
LOCATION
The park is just off the main road which runs between Newton Abbot & Totnes. Newton Abbot is the closest town and has got a large Asda & Tesco although it seems to be one of those towns where traffic jams are the norm. Because of this I would suggest turning right out of the camp site & head for Totnes if you are visiting Paignton which is roughly equidistant whether you go via Totnes or NA.
A word of warning, if you are in Paignton area and you use sat nav to return to the site, make sure it doesn't send you down narrow country lanes to avoid NA. Ours did & whilst it saved us a few miles its not to be recommended.
THE SITE
The site itself is predominantly for touring caravans with a separate field for up to 8 tents (more of this later). The caravan pitches are hardstanding or grass & have a choice of EHU only or an 'all services' type pitch. The layout is like avenues with some pitches divided by hedgerows whilst some are open pitch where 4 caravans park side by side but with ample space for privacy. The park is immaculate with regards to the caravan pitches and the facilities. The utility block consists of toilets, showers and combined shower/toiler cubicles. Add to that a laundry room, chemical toilet thingy & a dishwashing area and you have a very high quality facility block which I found to be clean whatever time I used them.
Next to this block is the games room (arcade type games) pool table, snooker room, table tennis & bowling lane.
Quiet a good selection considering that this site isnt what I would class as marketed for children.
The site has a restaurant & bar which we only used once (not open every night at this time of year) for the sites last game of Thursday bingo. This was held in the conservatory & even though I'm not a bingo player I doubt that you would find a nicer setting to play.
The food looked nice although we didn't try it.
The leisure field is for two purposes. Firstly it is a massive field whereby you can play ball games etc without falling over one another. Secondly this is where the tents are pitched. They only allow 8 tents, each having EHU. The pitch is very slightly sloping but nothing that will make you beer slide off the table, (thankfully).
The owners obviously market this site to attract a certain clientèle.
If you like to party or have screaming kids who need entertaining 24/7 then this site is not for you. From what we seen, I would suggest that the majority of caravanners were retired/semi retired/families who enjoy peace & quiet. If this is you then I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this site to those who are looking for a quality site with clean facilities. My only negative is that there should be at least a toilet & dishwashing sink in the corner of the leisure field to save campers having to walk through the site to the main block. After all, electric & water are already provided in this area for the doggy shower !
We rarely return to the same site but if I did return to this area I would be comfortable returning here knowing what to expect.
