Exceptionally well maintained site but this does mean that on some mornings tractors, mowers and other machinery has started by 8 am so don't expect a quiet stay in bed! Some pitches are small - cannot have caravan, awning and car side by side - which means you are on top of the next pitch. If you have a pitch near the main road then it can be very noisy all day and most of the night and for these reasons we will not be staying again.

It's hard to say anything that hasn't already been said, so I will keep this short and sweet. This is by far the very best touring park we have been to. The whole site is absolutely immaculate.
The food in the restaurant or conservatory is excellent and extremely reasonably priced.
Mark and Helen are the perfect hosts and can't do enough for you, but are not intrusive.
Dogs are highly catered for with excellent dog walking areas and a fantastic dog shower.
Shower and toilets are second to none and are always spotless and are free.
The only downside to Ross Park is that once you have visited here all other sites will seem sub standard.
We have visited Ross Park twice now and have already booked for next year. We will continue to stay here as it definitely is the definition of a perfect site.

Helen was extremely helpful when I had to move my booking twice unexpectedly which I really appreciated.
When we finally got to Ross Park, we were very impressed. The site is thoughtfully laid out and the facilities are all immaculate. We sadly were too late for Sunday lunch but it looked very good.
The site was full even though we stayed off peak and there are obviously a lot of returning guests and caravans stored here. However the shower blocks never seemed under pressure and the staff were all friendly and polite.
There are stunning views of Dartmoor from the site and from the Orchid Meadow it is possible to see the River Dart meandering through the valley.
We travelled the short drive to Totnes. Motor homes can park in the Longmarsh car park by the river for a reasonable price and Totnes was lovely as always. We also drove to Paignton Zoo and were able to park easily. Great day out.
I can see why this site is so popular. I just hope we can get back in!

We have just spent a week here and the site is absolutely immaculate.
Mark and Helen and their staff are friendly and welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble - we were greatly appreciative of their caring and helpful response when we needed it.
Free wifi that worked (!) bar and restaurant on site, immaculate showers, fully serviced pitches, there is nothing to fault with this site. We consider the prices very good too for the quality of the site.
We will definitely be returning - that is if we can get in - it's often fully booked as it is so popular!

Stayed here for seven nights, during the first week of the Easter school holidays. The site was by no means full, but was busy.
Firstly, the bathrooms. Wow. My wife stated, 'Best we've ever used'. Clean. Modern. Spacious. Better than home? Probably. Heated floors were welcome. Lovely heated showers. No push button. Bliss. Only downside, only 12 unisex showers - could possibly get busy when the site is maxed out, but it was busy in our week and I never waited once.
The bar and restaurant - we had a look, all seemed OK, but we didn't use these so not fair to comment. Did sit in the conservatory on a couple of occasions, a lovely warm space.
Used the pool table with my daughter - fantastic table - played well, level, better than the usual standard on a campsite - no chalk for the cues though. Didn't check out the snooker room, but if the quality as good as the pool table, then I imagine table is immaculate.
Table tennis tables situated outdoors, but under cover, (converted barn possibly?) were great. We played several games. Reminded us of France :-)
The weather was terrible, but this isn't the sites fault. Really, really windy. We were sheltered by a large bush at the edge of our pitch, but a unit opposite had 'issues' with their awning. It was weather warning windy though. Also, grass was quite muddy around the pitch, but easily avoided by using paving stones and hard standing.
There was a lack of children around the site, maybe it caters for the 'older' generations. Certainly fellow vanners we talked to who were of a retired age who had seasonal pitches here loved the site and had returned for years, they clearly had friends on site in the same situation. Not cliche, they
Were friendly enough to us. Another vanner on our 'field', (only 8 maybe 10 vans per section - beautifully laid out site), also commented that their boys had found no friends to play with. This is the only downside to the site I found, and it could well have been just a bad week? Maybe other schools didn't share the same holidays as ours?
Having said that, Dornafield, just down the road from here, was (is?) our favorite site as a family, but Ross Park has at least equalled it, if not over taken it. So the lack of other children didn't put my DD off this site, she loved it.
Local area has loads to do, see my previous reviews of Dornafield for ideas for trips out etc. Just make sure you visit Trago Trash ;-)
Also check out the price. The site has some real bargains when it comes to pricing. Weekly deals make it a great off peak site.

What a fantastic site. Spent three nights before leaving for another site with an adventure park, wish we had stayed at Ross Park for the week. Love the bathrooms and everything else about the place. Had a fab meal and Sunday lunch. We tried to book in for a long weekend earlier on in the year, but it was fully booked. Will definitely be back, that's if we can get in.

Access to this site really is straight forward, with a wide sweeping entrance being only yards from the A381.
The owners are very friendly and helpful. Booking in was effortless and the pitches are in enclosed closes so that the site does not feel as big as it is.
It is quite evident that they put a lot of effort into the site as everywhere is spotlessly clean and immaculately maintained.
Reception sells essentials but there is a Spar at the bottom of the hill and supermarkets can be found in Newton Abbot or Totnes which are both within a few miles.
The site is paradise for dog owners. There are two very large open dog walks with free dog waste bag disposal points dotted everywhere - as a result everyone picks up. It's little things like the gate to the dog walk being on a spring loaded ram, so dog owners don't have to struggle with a latch on the gate.
A boot wash and welly wash are located just outside the dog walks, as is the superb (and free) dog shower block.
A large field is given over for recreation and there is also a good playground for kids and a volley ball court.
The heated individual bathrooms are great and really are well appointed.
There is also an on site bar / restaurant that has a conservatory attached. This is heated in winter and you can take your dogs in with you to this area.
Outside this is a wonderful area for kids / teenagers with covered table tennis tables, giant connect 4, skittles, a games room with arcade machines and a pool table. There is also a full sized snooker table.
Ignore some of the previous reviews relating to a clique and road noise.
One of the best sites I have ever visited and will definitely return.

'Excellent plus' in almost all respects. The pitches are a little narrower than some other 5-pennant sites we have stayed at but are still good, with shrubs providing separation. That said, there's nothing to complain about. The shop, showers, toilets, washing-up, laundry and chemical disposal facilities serve as a standard to which other sites should aspire. The playground and games facilities are also excellent.
The fenced-in off-lead dog runs are huge and full of interest for inquisitive dogs to play. Boot-brushes, boot washes and warm-water dog showers are all included.
The bar/restaurant is welcoming, and when meals are served the quality is very good at reasonable prices. Dog-owners can eat in the large conservatory with their pet. The conservatory itself has many sub-tropical plants/trees, including various citrus and bananas. The bougainvillaeas are particularly beautiful.
The owners are not only on-site but seem to be around and being excellent hosts from dawn till late night.
Sorry for so many 'excellents', but that's the way it is.
We've booked for 2015!

Great site very dog friendly lovely dog walk even got a doggy shower facility. Nice restaurant on site we were lucky with the weather was awesome. Pitched on grass but because weather was good was ok but would have preferred hard standing. Clean site owners friendly even gave our dog a treat on arrival.

This site was fantastic. The pitches were private with hedging round although not all were level but that said the owner will take your caravan to the pitch and level it for you. The facilities were exceptionally clean and I thought the individual wet rooms with sink and toilet were a really good idea as the whole family could use it at once. There is no cycling allowed on either the paths or roads around the site so the children tended to stay around the large park area. The dog walk was very clean and the owners had ensured that there were dog bins and doggy poop bags in dispensers. The owners are very pro dog and even issuing dog biscuits on arrival! There even had showers for dogs!
There were storage facilities on site and the owner would bring the caravan to the pitch ready for your arrival. There were also seasonal pitches available.
The owners were very friendly and helpful even letting me take a bottle of wine until I was able to get to a bank for some cash. The shop had basic amenities but only took cash for groceries but the site took card.
The site was very well landscaped with numerous mature flower beds creating a lovely relaxing environment. I have visited a lot of sites over the years and I would say that this site would be in my top 3.
The site is in South Devon and is well placed for Torbay, Dartmoor, Dartmouth as well as Exeter. The local village Ipplepen has a co-op and a pub but for an excellent meal visit the two mile oak which is a couple of miles from the site on the A381. We also went to Riverford Country kitchen which certainly was an experience.
