Interesting that last review we too have noticed the full up sign on arrival and noticed a few vacant pitches, curious? This is our third time here so what more can be said about this immaculate in every way site and we are 60+ by the way but don't advertise it.
So will only add a couple of points not mentioned recently. The bar/restaurant was shut during our visit so we walked to the Wellington in Ipplepen village(about 20mins) which does food after 6. 30 and serves Otter beer straight out the barrel.
There is an hourly or so bus service at the bottom of the approach road to either Totnes or Newton Abbot but buses peter out after 6. 30. Paid about £18/night for a hard standing pitch with own drain and water which I consider very reasonable for a site of this high calibre.

Well first the Positives!
The pitches and campsite are both extremely well maintained, the toilets immaculate and lovely showers.
Now the Negatives
Although the site was spotless we felt that we weren't wanted here, very awkward feeling, called to book a week in advance and told it was full, friends were on site and asked if we could join them and then there was a pitch, in fact on arrival over 35% of the campsite was empty pitches and a sign at the entrance said no vacancies campsite full - joke.
We went to the restaurant for Sunday Lunch before leaving - wasn't allowed to sit in the conservatory as it was full, full for us I'm guessing as nobody went in there whilst we were there and some people came in and were giving the option where they sat, the roast I would definitely not recommend - although plentiful and a good selection of vegetables the meat was swimming in some sort of thick stodgy gravy with a very weird taste - totally ruined the meal.
Overview - lovely site if you are a regular and 60+ otherwise look for somewhere else.

Wow. What a great site The pitches are large and brilliantly maintained
The showers etc immaculate
And the owners are so friendly and helpful it's brill
When you pull into the site they even put your van on the pitch with their tractor
We are here for their Xmas and New year break, this includes most of the food and lots of entertainment for the whole 10 day
Like everything else here the food has been excellent
We will definitely be back
As you might have guessed I can't rate this site highly enough

Stayed at this campsite August bank holiday and I felt I must write this review.
From booking the holiday, discussing arrival times, nothing was too much trouble as we thought we were going to be arriving early. When we arrived about 10. 00am the pitch was ready anyway and the owner on his small tractor told us to follow him to the pitch. Unexpectably, he asked us if we wanted him to position the caravan onto the pitch, which was a blessing, because the night before, the motor mover on caravan started playing up. He unhitched the caravan from car onto his tractor, positioned it and being slightly sloping, put a block of wood under wheel. Out come a spirit level on side of van, job done, off he went. If that doesn't say anything about how well the site is run. I was amazed.
On to the site, facilities are brilliant. Toilets/Showers very clean and of decent size. Restaurant and place you can just have a drink is nice, also conservatory which is different. Games room for kids good. Wife did the reception bit, dealing with all that, lot's of info available. She used shop late one night which the owner opened up specially for some pop which we had run out for our daughter and cousin. Again, nothing can be too much trouble for them.
Reading some reviews mentioning road noise, we were close to the road, there was a little, but honestly, nothing to shout about.
Location was good for main attractions and with new bypass being finished now makes it a lot easier being stuck in that traffic in past years.
To wrap it up, You'll be spoilt on this site and it may make other sites you visit a bit of a let down.

This was our second visit to Ross Park, this site is beautiful and very well established. There is a well stocked shop on site and the owners go the extra mile for the guests, I needed an onion and they didn't have one in the shop but the owner asked what it was I was looking for and I told her and she said (I will go and get you one out of the restaurant) Brilliant service. The on site restaurant serves up Delicious reasonably priced food, and the Bar is not over priced either. The pitches are very large and private. We have a serviced pitch water and waste connection. If you need help to park your van the owner will uses his amazing little tractor to park and level you. There is a huge field for the kids to play on with tennis / badminton court. There is an amusement arcade with various machines to keep the kids interested. The dog walking compound is brilliant and well behaved dogs can meet up and play together. There are dog poop bags placed all around the park in the event that you forget to bring your own. The toilet block is always spotlessly clean, and the individual shower rooms with WC are heated and very generous in size. We booked our 2017 holiday before we left. I can't praise this site enough.

What can I say, this is our 3rd visit here and it's still as wonderful as ever.
We had a Premier pitch which was fantastic. The private shower rooms complete with their own toilet are still some of the best we've seen.
The site itself is a gardeners paradise. Everything is immaculate, very mature trees and hedging, quite private plots with ample space. Plenty of bins and chemical points around. As someone else said, it's such an immaculate site that if you see a bit of rubbish you tend to pick it up and put it in the bin. Most people around us are here for 3 weeks and they come regularly, so that in itself says something.
There is a small restaurant with a bar, open at different times throughout the season. There is a laundry room with ample machines and dryers and an iron. There is a small games room, and skittles and table tennis outside. A beautiful conservatory which again has fabulous plants in.
There is a fabulous field with a play area for kids and great dog walking facilities with a doggy shower! (We had neither kids or dogs with us so didn't use these).
The reception has a small shop, with food and caravan bits and fresh bread/milk.
The owners work tirelessly and are very friendly, nothing is too much trouble. If you fancy trying this site out book early as its quite hard to get a booking. I would thoroughly recommend this site. Quite central for lots of interesting places to visit and beautiful beaches.

In summary : the best UK campsite we have stayed on.
We (2 adults and children 11yrs and 8yrs) stayed for a week, the first half was lovely weather the second half was predominantly drizzle.
The showers were the best we have ever come across on a campsite and the inside ones maybe a lot nicer and bigger than many people's own bathrooms. The kids loved the games room / barn. The conservatory was lovely, we went to the bingo night which was a bit of family fun and had a good meal in there too. There are games and books to borrow inside the restaurant area. Our children enjoyed the play area and there is a lot of free space to enjoy. The site is constantly maintained so always a high standard.
Days out:
- bantham beach great for body boarding, surfing and paddling. Plenty of space to build sand castles, dunes to explore and a fabulous view of Burgh Island plus lifeguards and a gourmet catering van in the carpark.
- we went for a drive in Dartmoor and visited becky Falls which was great for a walk and scramble over the rocks.
- a day trip to Cornwall to visit friends by train, easy to catch from Newton Abbot.
- the model village (even good in the rain!)
- steam train, ferry and estuary tour from Paignton to Dartmouth. Lots of nice shops and places to eat in Dartmouth. We would have been able to see more on from the train and estuary tour if it hadn't been raining but had the advantage of being dry.
- Totnes was lovely for a mooch and we booked afternoon tea at Vintage Tea which was very good.
Traffic was obviously heavy in August particularly on the big junction improvements to the south of Newton Abbot but I would have thought it will be much better once that is completed.

Found this site because of the good reviews on here and so glad we did. Think this must be THE best site in the whole of Britain. Pitches are immaculate and bar a couple of excellent size, sooo dog friendly with free poop bags near the huge fenced in orchard or wildlife meadow, lovely food and bar at reasonable prices with entertainment at times, perfect bathrooms, several waste disposal stations, discreet and plentiful rubbish bins, good shop etc. It is so very peaceful and I for one who hates road noise have found no traffic noise unless I have walked with the dog to the very perimeter of the dog walk which is a long long way from the pitches! Our dog needed emergency vet treatment and the help and concern shown by the owners, staff and fellow campers will always be remembered by us. Used the bus five mins away into Totnes for a good trip out. Lots to see in area with good public transport. This site is not the cheapest but you do get extremely good value for money with free WiFi and dogs. So good that we booked for Christmas and hope to join the many regulars that come here. Believe all the good reviews. They are true.

What can I say perfection is such a small word for this incredible site, The Staff are second to none. The site has all you could want, for the kids there is a play area, games room with table tennis Skittles, Pool table, Snooker room for the older kids and Dads. There is a very nice restaurant with a licenced Bar and inside eating. Or a fab covered outer dining area with atmosphere. The pitches are well laid out and of a very good size. The local bus is just a short walk away. Also There is a Golf course close by, which you get a discount on green fees when you tell them you are staying at Ross Park.
The shop covers most items you will require and you can order you news paper every day so all you have to do is just pop in and pick it up. Back to your pitch, tea breakfast and paper what more could you ask for. SEE YOU THERE
