Well what to say, I have been a few times, so it cant be that bad, so my comments are not based on a one off visit.
Good points :- Reasonably well kept site, nice forest walk around the edge of the site, nice walk down to Follifoot to the pub for Sunday Lunch, well placed to go to Harrogate and other local towns. There is a pub on site 'aptly called Deer House' its not that expensive though, but food is reasonably basic.
Bad points, the showers are not that great for the price of the site, infact if more than two people are using the showers in the smaller toilet block then the water that comes out of the shower head is that low pressure it just dribbles down the wall so having a shower is near impossible. The other shower block has water that forces out so hard it cuts into your back.
The price of the site I find quite high for the quality of the facilities (33 per night at peak time), if you are on the grass pitches then you will be crammed together, there are white sticks in the ground to mark where to go, but it was my third visit before I could find out how you had to pitch relevant to them. The space between them is barely sufficient for a caravan and awning let alone a car.
On one of my visits I booked by phone, and enquired what time I could arrive from, they asked what time I wanted to be there and I said before 12 probably 11.40ish. They said they would write it on my notes and it would not be a problem. I arrived at 11.45 and was told that I couldn't go onto site as it was before 12. I pointed out that there were some comments on my reservation and I had been told it wasn't a problem. They read the notes and agreed I had mentioned this in my reservation, and then said I still wasn't allowed on before 12.
TV reception isn't fantastic although did get a picture in the end, many kids without parental guidance of any sort so expect rowdiness and disruption in the toilet blocks and on the site. Play area was basic but suitable for very young children. It really could be a lovely site, does need more work though!

Disappointing stay. Friendly enough site in a pleasant setting, but very poor value for money. Toilets & showers good, but facilities for toddlers & infants non-existent.
Outdoor pool tiny & closed when we were there (need to pre-book, two adults & 2 under 5's £5 for 1hr20m). Play area pathetic - holds kids' interest for approximately 3mins. Dogs & tattoos in abundance when we were there. TV reception poor. Ground very stony. Noisy up until 11pm.

This a larger site, set in beautiful grounds that are well maintained. All staff were very friendly and helpful.
We asked for a quiet pitch as we had 2 children with us, 1 only being 2, the other nearly 9. This did not stop the site from allowing a larger group of people (nearly 30) to pitch all around us. They were incredibly noisy til late in the night - 2.30/3 am.
There are 2 toilet blocks, 1 have baths in but they are situated at the bottom of the site, quite away from tents! The smaller of the toilet block were next to us and they are cleaned only once a day about 1pm. This meant leading up to this time and later in the day they were quite dirty. The sinks areas are always wet and the toilets did not flush that well - leaving unsightly things in view! I hate to think what they may be like if it was raining.
There are only 2 dish wash sinks, with 1 tap between them, they water was not that hot and there was always a queue to wash up. Nowhere to prepare veg etc if needed.
The swimming pool is OK, with an attendant on duty. You do have to book to go in and pay once you get there.
The pub was fine. We found it reasonably priced and reasonable food. Staff very friendly too. No problems at all.
All in all, this site is fine if you have older children and don't mind larger groups around and about.

Lovely site and can't wait to properly review in September on our return visit.
On arrival went to reception and got the feel of a very structured campsite, it is but very relaxed at the same time we could pitch where we wanted and felt very relaxed and not at all enclosed.
There are lots of ducks who become honorary pets for the stay and that made us laugh. We only stayed for one night and should have stopped longer but chest infections and camping don't mix( it just appeared from nowhere over night), which is a shame, neither does telling the reception manager that the place is gorgeous and it's not the campsite through tears because we didn't want to leave.
Will review again in September and say how good it is.

I have mixed thoughts about Rudding Park. During peak season it's quite expensive and I think you could stay at better sites that are more reasonably priced. The kids love Rudding Park as they are safe to go off on adventures.
We had come away with four other families for our children's birthdays so didn't venture away from the site. We were all pitched quite close together and the area of grass that we were given was supposed to fit 7 tents on! (not the largest of areas) The site is clean and well kept, with facilities close to hand. The toilet and shower block is clean and tidy although not that modern.
I would return again to Rudding Park, however only in low season as I don't think during the summer it's worth paying for.

Arrived early afternoon. Friendly and helpful reception. Found the pitch Ok. Excellent large Super pitch. Clear view south for my Sat dish to find Sky sat. (Requested this in my booking). Toilet block the best I have been in. Excellent facility. Clean and warm. Usual facilities but a lot of them. Inside dish washing area. A pub on site which has food. Very pleasant and the menu was good. Has outside swimming pool but this was shut for the winter. Golf club just down the road but didn't use it. Restaurant also available if you want a special meal. Shop was well equipped and has daily papers. Stayed for 2 days. It is a large site with statics but is not crowded and is well laid out. Bus stop outside main gate. Bus to Harrogate every 30mins. Only took 15 minutes to get to Harrogate. Last bus back about 11.30pm which is good. Also service to Wetherby and Leeds. Will be staying here again.

Great site for family's or couples alike. Very clean showers and toilets and bins emptied regularly. Lovely pub on site which does reasonable pub grub. We did the family quiz on saturday which was fun for kids and adults alike! There is a playground at the rear and its situated near swimming pool although this was not open in low season. We had a nice meal at a pub in nearby Follyfoot which was a more than reasonably priced Sam Smith pub At £1.51 a pint!
Will definitely be going back to this site as its close to lovely Harrogate and Knaresborogh with bus stops just outside. If you fancy something a bit grander than pub Rudding Hall is 2min walk with a restaurant and bar although we didn't try it have heard good reports. All in all would recommend this site

We spent a Friday and Saturday at this site and had enjoyable time. We were located on hardstanding at the motorhome area, which we knew about when we booked. There was an open area where the children could play safely, just opposite.
The toilet and shower facilities were very good.
With regard to the pool, we were a bit aggrieved at having to pay £27.50 a night, we were asked to pay extra every time we wanted to use the pool and we also had to book a session to make sure we could use it.
The pub take away food(pizza) was good. The golf course was expensive, even the 6 hole course, but it was a bit of fun.
We enjoyed the site, however, we felt it was quite overpriced at £27.50 a night.

Hi all, we had our first camping trip as a family and stayed at Rudding Park.
Can only offer praise to this site, arrived and the check in was easy and all was explained, was able to choose pitch in a sheltered area behind a hedge. Pitch was level and easy to stake out tent.
Facilities were great, showers were hot and toilets were clean and the washing up area was cramped but ok and the water was very hot, don't let young children wash up, could do with a warning notice regarding the hot water!
Shop was good selling the essentials and the wine wasn't marked up too much either.
Pub and pool were popular and the playground was adequate for my children aged 5 & 9.
Plenty of space to play for the children who made numerous friends in the four nights wew were there.
Mixture of tents and caravans and all got on fine.
Good base to explore the area.

Absolutely loved this site. It was fantastic. We camped for a week, Monday to Friday. We had a lovely spot with elecric hook up. The site is very family orientated.
The toilets were very clean and the showers always had hot water. The only downside to the showers is you cannot control the temperature and the first day we used them they were scalding hot. Luckily the other days were much better.
There are separate cubicles with sinks which gives you privacy. The toilets we used were very close to our pitch but there was another much larger toilet block near to the reception. This one has a bath and I didn't really seem a bother in pushing the button for the hot water. The bath was ideal for my 4 year old.
The site has a great mini market for basic essentials and a lovely family pub. Try the meals there, they were great and very good value. We had our two daughters, 12 and 4 and another 12 year old. They all loved the swimming pool which is outdoor but heated. Problem tho in getting them out! Next to the swimming pool is a beer garden and children's playground.
The site itself is very large but during the week is not overcrowded. I would suggest camping mid week. We left on the Saturday morning but on the Friday loads of campers arrived and it did become much busier, in fact a bit too busy. The local area is brilliant. There is so much to do. York is a beautiful city and is only about half an hour away and you can easily spend a good few days there and still not see everything. Flamingo land is another favourite and is about an hour away and a great day out with lots to do for all age groups.
We didn't spend too much time in the campsite as we were out all day every day, usually coming back quite late and exhausted. Harrogate is just about 10 minutes away and is another lovely town. There is also a large Sainsburys just down the road which was great.
All in all a brilliant site, so much so that we will definitely go back. Very clean and tidy and the staff are very helpful. We are seasoned campers and have been camping for years. I have been on some really bad and really good sites and am quite particular about cleanliness and the toilets etc. This has to be one of the best sites we have been on and would definitely recommend it. Make sure you book in advance tho.
