First time we have visited this site, one of the best we have been to. On arrival the welcome we received was very friendly. A site attendant showed us to our pitch and explained the best way to park our unit and told us where all the facilities were. We chose a premium pitch which was hard standing with a grass bit and also a bench table for our personal use, this was excellent, we had a small hedge between us and the caravan next to us which gave us some privacy. The toilets/showers were spotlessly clean and were plentiful (two separate blocks). The weather was scorching when we were there and the outdoor pool was well used. The small shop on site has everything you need, the burgers they stock are from a local butcher and were excellent done on the BBQ. We had a refreshing Cider in the site pub, it was beside the outdoor pool, it serves meals although we did not try them. All staff on site were very friendly and helpful. There is a bus stop right outside the gate where you can catch the bus to Harrogate or Leeds. All in all we had an excellent three day stay on this site and would recommend a visit.

Arrived late on a Friday afternoon. Stayed for 3nts with EHU and paid £72. 00 for 2 adults 2 children & our dog. Lovely big site but think majority of campers request certain pitches at time of booking. Due to arriving fairly late around 6pm I got the impression that we ended up with one of the worst pitches. The pitch was close to the shower block but was the smallest pitch on the site and not level- which meant we slipped out of bed during the night. Was very disappointed with the pitch even though I booked this in March this year- so not a last min booking. Our tent is a Vango Tigris 800, and we struggled with the size of the pitch. Some of the pitches looked great known as the 'Super pitches', think I will be looking to book the super next time we visit.
The shower block was excellent- best I've been in so far, lovely and warm and very clean. Hairdryer was also handy. The shower cubicles also had a lovely spacious area to change which you don't often find. Pot washing was outside the shower block and had no running water on the 2 occasions I attempted to use it. Needless to say I didn't bother again and opted to boil my kettle instead.
Our children loved it and also made use of the outside pool, which you book at reception and pay at the poolside when you arrive for your chosen swim time. Had a drink from the bar which was average price. Small play area next to the pool is ok and the older children's play area is also ok- large grassed area for ball games but seemed to be taken over by seasonal residents playing rounders- not much chance for others to play other ball games.
Dog walk is a small grassed area and considering the size of the park- I expected much better or bigger- ok for small dogs but not big enough for our large dog to have a good run. Also had a stroll to the Golf Clubhouse for a drink sat and watched a couple coming in and fantastic views whilst sipping a lovely glass of white wine. Not the cheapest- but it was the Clubhouse when all said and done. Little shop was very good, lots of things if forgotten anything and lovely fresh bread, eggs etc. Also daily newspapers. Very reasonable prices.
Overall we will be returning, this is only our 3rd camping trip and this has to be the best site so far. Marks out of 10= 9

Just had five days at this site. One of the best sites we have ever been to. Starting with the greeting we got when we arrived. First class service, help full and very friendly. The security guard who showed us to our pitch was jovial, help full and full of advice where to go etc. Each time he passed the van a friendly good morning, anything you need or help with and just a friendly warm chat (if he had time ) was greatly received.
The toilet blocks were extremely clean well kept and fresh smelling. The on site swimming pool was very pleasant and again the staff manning the pool were very friendly. The on site bar was not expensive and the food was second to non.
All in all out of all the sites we have been to this is the best. Would recommend it. Great central place for exploring North Yorkshire. Peace full at night great facilities and the most help full people you would ever meet. Will definitely be going back and staying longer

Recently spent a few night here with the missus and three kids. We had the caravan on EHU and the tent for the kids. The site was very nice and I agree with all the positive reviews. I do however agree that paying extra for the swimming pool is a joke after paying £31 per night for the pitch which is probably the most we have ever paid, for not much in return. The site is well placed for sightseeing the local area. I would probably visit again but in no rush to do so.

We (two adults two kids 3 and 7 and a dog) had a lovely long weekend at Rudding with our caravan on a super pitch with drainage water and electric, great welcome by staff friendly and very helpful. Weather was beautiful always a plus.
Pitch was a brilliant size with a picnic table, toilet blocks very clean showers were hot and powerful. Shop had everything needed and more.
The pub on site serves great food and kids loved the play areas

Where to start. ? We booked rudding park online due to the great weather we were having and the fact rudding park had a fantastic outdoor pool. We looked online at the website and rudding park seemed perfect for us. There was me and the mrs and 2 kids both 6 so the Parks pool walks etc. Seemed great. We arrived on site a bit early (approx 11:30) the lady on reception advised us we were a bit early and we would have to wait until a space came available, the gentleman on the desk said there may be 1 available space and took us up to our pitch personally which I thought was a lovely idea (no reading tiny maps trying to work out where we should pitch up) when we got to our pitch it was a fair size (along with the other approx 30 empty pitches) anyway he told us where to park the caravan and away he went. Later on that afternoon one of the other site people put his head through our caravan window and told me 'move your car' very abruptly. I asked if I should move it to the other side of the caravan to which he replied 'yeah' and walked off. I was quite disheartened by this and felt it immediately put a negative effect on our holiday. Anyway kids being kids they wanted to be in the pool ASAP so we got our things together and went down to the outdoor pool. The pool was £3. 25 pp adults and children alike for 1 hour! And when that hours up your called out. Quite extortionate in my opinion when it's the outdoor pool that sells the site. The pool is quite small but it's big enough as at £13 per hour and half for a family of four you can't enjoy a day at the pool. The parks are limited with bare minimal on them (2 baby swings 2 kids swings a round swing and a small climbing frame) and as the pools so extortionate the park is full. The toilet facility's are good overall, clean, hot water, pleasant. The site shop is great, a little pricey but that's to be expected and is well stocked and very friendly gentleman on the counter. Overall I don't think this site is as good as it could be. The service is slim to none, not once did I feel valued nor did I feel value for money. Although there were family's on site I felt it wasn't very family orientated. It was far too expensive for what we received. I was going to speak to reception regarding all the above upon leaving but wasn't asked if I'd enjoyed my stay or if everything was ok so I felt no responsibility to give feed back as I felt they weren't interested.
Overall the site is expensive and the customer service is non existent. I doubt I will be taking my family there again. I've been to sites with a lot less and felt I've come away with a lot more. After this holiday I feel highly disappointed.

Just returned from a 4 night trip to Rudding and overall we were pleased with the site and would return. I found it to be in an easy to get to location, close to a supermarket, and local towns and has a bus stop outside the gate (although we didn't use the service).
The site itself is lovely, its separated into different sections with bushes which was nice for wind/privacy. The site is well kept and we only saw one pitch bogged due to the awful weather on our first day. It then was not used again during our stay even though the site was fully booked.
It has security barriers and security wardens driving around a lot. The toilet facilities were spotless during our stay despite really wet weather on the first day. Staff are lovely and really helpful. Warden shows you to your pitch which I liked too.
The well stocked shop was a little high priced but that is to be expected I suppose.
The little play park is good for kids and there is a nice big field and footy goal. The dog exercise area is a nice size too although on our last day some ignorant people were not cleaning up after their dogs!
The only negative thing I can say is that despite the advice otherwise, people freely let their dogs roam the site. The site was made aware of this but it didn't change anything unfortunately (which I think was due to the families being regulars). Our own dog was tethered but still ended up barking his head off when someone else's dog let themselves into our porch for a look around!
Oh, and the tee off time at the golf club is pretty early which was right behind our tent. (6. 30am!)
After reading the review above I am sorry I didn't ask, but the literature the site gave didn't mention a launderette so I didn't know there was one - this would have been handy too!
I would recommend the site though and will return again.

A beautiful place to stay with very helpful friendly staff. I was organising a charity bike ride and spoke with the staff (Susan)vie email and phone changing the amount of people and pitches, it was never a problem and we couldn't have completed the event without the help of the staff at Rudding Park.
I recommend this site to anyone reading this as I will be to my friends and family.
The showers were strong and hot, the toilets clean and fresh :-)

We stayed here for the week of the Yorkshire Show- which got cancelled due to the poor weather.
On arriving to the site I found that reception was a little grumpy and the young girl didn't even really look at us!
The site warden who took us to our pitch was lovely and told us the best walk to the show ground.
The site itself was good- although it was awful weather the pitch didn't get boggy.
We used the on site shop and that was very good- the pub on site was lovely and we ate both evenings.
The toilets were plentiful and clean
As the show got cancelled, we decided to cut our stay short and return home.
If I attend the Yorkshire Show again I will stay at the site!

Just back from a great weekend at Rudding Park. Set in a wonderful location, very close to Harrogate with a bus stop right outside the site entrance so no need to move the motor home once sited. Liked that everyone is shown to their pitch and not just shown a map. The facilities were spotless and the showers lovely and hot, which was welcomed due the the weather not being the warmest! Had a good meal at the pub, didn't play golf on this visit but the facilities looked really good. The staff were all very cheerful and helpful, not something that you experience on every site! Have booked to visit again next month. More than happy to recommend the site to others.
