Spent 3 nights here at the beginnning of the school holidays, our 2nd campsite so not a lot to compare too.
* Pitches felt a little on the small size even thought we had given the tent size on booking.
* Tents pitched on both sides of road, can be alongside caravans and motorhomes - this was a first and unexpected.
* Toilet and shower blocks were kept clean.
* Washing up facilities were limited and one better than the other (shared tap at one and not much space).
* Play areas limited and a long way from our pitch.
* Swimming pool had a cost of £3. 50pp per 90 minutes session. It was very busy to the point of being too busy, plus people were allowed in even though they hadn't booked.
* Great pond for feeding the ducks on site.
* Food on offer at the pub was vert good and reasonable priced, the staff were very happy to adapt to my children's fussyness.
* Great location with lots around the area to do and loads of places to visit.

Spent 10 nights at this sight. Great location for touring around as very close to Harrogate, York and Leeds. We had a large corner pitch which was fantastic for our large tent. Great dog walk. Sainsburys very close.
Pros - Friendly, helpful staff. Good location. Nice pool and playpark for children. Toilet facilities adequate but not when busy.
Cons - Noise policy at night not enforced at all. Close to golf club which when competitions being held woken at 6. 30am with tannoy announcements every 15 mins of who is on the tee! Music from hotel kept kids awake. Large groups allowed to make as much noise and mess as they wanted!

We stayed in one of the chalets available at the park and have a lovely experience. It was well equipped and comfortable, we had a baby son and dog with us and all slept well, for a large site the evenings were very peaceful. We were very impressed with the staff and there attention to detail and how welcoming they made us feel. The swimming pool was a highlight and great fun! We liked the stay so much we booked again immediately!.
Would definitely recommend this site, the mature trees and grounds make the park feel really special. The shop is well stocked although not open when we visited there's an on site pub, there's also a children's playground. Overall a great stay.

Stayed here for the Tour De France weekend - 4 nights. Great welcome from the reception and Mark the warden. Accompanied to the pitch and all amenities explained. Although the site was full didn't experience any of the issues others have; parking at the restaurant was open, no trestle tables, food was fine, no issues. Did witness quite fast driving on the site but not by staff. Not too enamoured with having to book the quite empty pool and pay £3. 50 for the privilege tho'-my girls tend to swim every day and that could have been expensive if we hadn't been tour-watching!
Overall would recommend this site.

We came away rather disappointed. Too many niggles which spoiled what might have been a good five nights.
Pros: We had a big pitch and the site was clean and tidy.
It was convenient for Harrogate and York and our grandchildren.
Reception was pleasant.
Cons: We rejected the first pitch we were offered as it had great big patches of bare soil on it that had just been reseeded. If we had stayed on it, it would have been a mud bath by the end of our stay.
It would have been good to know during the booking process, that during our stay there were going to be two huge events in a nearby marquee. We found out after we arrived and it was too late to change. We were kept awake by the music and the guests.
We didn't like the way people with dogs just walked them around the site, allowing them to urinate and defecate at will.
We didn't like the uncontrolled speed with which people drove around the site. Some of the worst offenders were the staff.
The grass hadn't been cut for ages, it was very wet while we were there so not possible but by then it was already far too long. I thought we would have well trimmed pitches not a near grass field.
Work on a nearby construction site woke us at 6. 15am with the noise of excavators and other machinery.
The shop was rather feeble.

This is the first time I have came here and you are greeted to a warm welcome by the staff and the warden. There is a shop that sells the basic needs for camping and the everyday food you need however there is a sainsbury's close and the mini mart sells hook ups which the camp site doesn't provide. The campsite is quite small and can fit about 100-200 tents or caravans. The pub there is modern and is nice. The pool wasn't open as it is only open in the summer. It looks nice and has two parks for kids to play with. There are some football nets and a basketball net. The toilets are clean and the showers are good. There is a small area for dogs and there are many paths and fields.
I would recommend this campsite to anyone and there are many attractions around including 2 theme parks and a place which involves the national trust.

Only stayed one night as we were going into harrogate for an event. A very nice site. Toilet block very clean and warm. Good pitch with water hook up and drain. What I would like to mention was the duty warden who dealt with us on arrival as we were late, she took us to our pitch explained what we needed to know, made us feel very welcome and even sorted a taxi into town for us. We will be going back but for longer next time. Thanks.

From the moment the first telephone call was made to book a pitch, we had great service. On arriving at the site we were welcomed with details of site etc. And escorted to our fully serviced pitch, which was good size, well situated and clean. We had a great week, weather was good for us to visit surrounding places of interest. As no children with us, we never visited the playground, but it looked great for children. A meal in the pub was very nice with good service. We will definitely use this site again.

WE used this site as a stopover on our way home from Scotland. I particularly chose a site with plenty of facilities as we didn't want to go out again on such a short visit. This was on the Thursday before the August Bank Holiday and the park was very busy. We arrived at approx 4. 30 and were told to be off our pitch by 11. 00am prompt as they were full for the weekend. This isn't a great welcome. WE were shown to our pitch which was a hard standing and very roomy with a laurel hedge separating us from next door and it's own picnic table. The site itself is very pretty and well laid out but too large for our taste. It only had two toilet/shower blocks which didn't seem adequate for the numbers of users but we didn't have any problems as we had our own facilities in the caravan. Once we set up my daughter wanted to use the swimming pool but this closed at 5. 30 and had to be pre booked. We then wanted to have a meal in the on site pub but a quick look inside at the long trestle style tables put me off plus the carpark bays were all coned off. As a disabled driver this was not great and the pub was a fair walk up hill from our pitch. WE moved a cone and were glared at by one of the chefs. WE decided to go to the on site shop but this closed at 6pm so all in all the facilities were a waste of time. I would expect a site of this size to have their pool and shop open during the peak season at least until 8pm if not later. The price of the pitch was excellent and I would go back but not in the peak season as it was too busy for us. Harrogate is only 4 miles away so that is great. The site was very clean and well maintained and used by lots of families with small children. Lots of people had dogs with them so it was a little noisy.

This is the third time we have stayed at this site, and once again we had a very enjoyable stay. The staff are always very polite and helpful, the toilet blocks immaculate with spacious showers and plenty of hot water and the pitches well spaced and maintained. Once again we enjoyed cycling out from the site, and were able to access off road routes to Ripley and Wetherby by using a few local roads. The site is only a short drive from Harrogate with its' many attractions, including Harlow Carr Gardens, the Spa and Valley Gardens and various Art Galleries and Museums. We come up from the West Country to visit family, and so we spend a lot of time in Harrogate, but I would recommend the site as an ideal place from which to tour North Yorkshire. It is also easy to catch a train to York or Leeds from the nearby station. We are looking forward to our next visit.
