Very enjoyable stay despite the weather! The friendly warden showed us onto our pitch and even unhooked the hitch for me!

The food in the on site pub was lovely and reasonably priced, and the staff were also friendly.

I suspect there might be a shortage of toilet/shower facilities during peak season, and some of the pitches seem a little close to another.

To summarise, the location of the park is good, and there are some good nearby places to visit, Knaresborough, Skipton etc.

Will definitely go again, when the weather gets warmer!

Early in the season but well staffed, and very good staff.

Meals in the on site pub EXCELLENT, and quickly served. Good range of drinks available also.

All went very well for our short stay.

Well appointed park, plenty of space for the kids to play SAFELY.

All areas clean and tidy.

Wish the weather had been a bit better, however I still would not use the two outdoor pools in March. :-)

5 Stars from me.

Will be going back very soon.

After reading all the good reviews, this site was a let-down. My in-laws stayed on a grass pitch, and we managed to get a last-minute cancellation on a super pitch; however, we all had the same views about the site. The grass pitches didn’t seem very spacious, a lot of them were uneven, and the site’s tractor was kept very busy manoeuvring caravans and motorhomes on and off the boggy pitches. The super pitches are nicely separated by hedges for privacy, but there isn’t much room for parking your car. There’s also badly drained grass between the roadway and the hard-standing, so a number of us struggled to pitch up and got stuck in the mud! The hard-standing itself was like a coarse cement mix – horrible stuff. We have a porch awning and so had to walk across this on a regular basis - when wet it’s worse than mud, and when dry it creates loads of dust and fine stones. Everything gets filthy – shoes, dog(!), awning carpet, etc – we got sick of keep having to brush up the mess. The electrics were useless, and were forever tripping out (3 or 4 times whenever we boiled the kettle).

We stayed for four nights and during our stay the men’s showers were cold on three days, and the women’s on one day (when my husband reported the problem, he was basically told that there isn’t a constant supply of hot water). The shower cubicles are really badly designed, with only a very small “dry” area as you enter the cubicle – this means that the “dry” area gets exceptionally wet (and very muddy from people’s shoes when the weather is bad); you have to put your dirty clothes on the floor to stand on when you’ve had your shower!

The toilets and showers were dirty, with rubbish and toilet paper everywhere, but a lot of that is down to the scruffy and inconsiderate people who use the facilities. We came across people washing their pots in the toilet sinks, as there was no hot water at the dish-wash area, and when my mother-in-law used the launderette, two of the three washing machines were broken.

We couldn’t go in the pub as we had our Spaniel with us and the pub isn’t dog-friendly.

The site does have a well-stocked shop, the golf course looks good, and nearby Knaresborough is worth a visit (nice riverside cafés for something to eat and drink).

To be honest I don't do many reviews as most sites we go on with the motor home are average to good and there is never much to say about them. The caravan club site standards are super, but little or nothing in regard to facilities like pubs, restaurants, etc. And the private ones are mostly of a lesser standard, but have other facilities like child playgrounds, pools, pubs etc. You pays your money and you take you chances. However in regard to Rudding this is is a bit of a mishmash and had I paid normal rates the I would have accepted this but at £31 per night I must put finger to iPad.

They have friendly staff at Rudding and smashing pub and Hotel + a golf course but they had dirty toilets, cold showers , uneven grass pitches which were boggy and we needed towed off.

Admittedly the toilets were dirty because lazy people left I them like that but the mop and bucket left to use were black with grime and no loo rolls in 50% of the male stalls. There is a sign in the pot wash area saying WATCH OUT THE WATER IS VERY HOT. Not! So a confusing write up but overall they are charging too much at Rudding and we will not be back. Shame.

Stayed here Tuesday to Friday at midweek prices for a serviced pitch with electric, fresh water, waste water and elsan waste disposal. Lovely to have everything on the large hardstanding pitch surrounded by bushes. Plenty of room to sit out, pitch included a picnic bench and grassed area. Although pitch seemed plenty big enough for a Motorhome, someone had managed to churn up the grass area.

Site is huge with lots of seasonal tourers, statics and lodges. It is in the grounds of a Hotel, which has all the facilities you would expect, plus a large golf course and golf academy. Grounds even boast a small church, making this a perfect wedding venue. Views from the site are second to none, absolutely stunning. There is a pub, swimming pool and shop on site too, but with limited opening due to our visit being late in the season. These and children's play area looked excellent.

There are two toilet blocks with plentiful showers and hot water. There was even a large bath in the ladies and gents much to my husband's delight. Dog walk on site, plus can walk around site and through woods etc, plenty for our furry friends. Bus stops at park entrance to Harrogate, Wetherby and Leeds. My only complaint would be the excessive charge for dogs, at £3. 25 per day I think that is too expensive, as our dog would not use the showers, pub, playground or swimming pool himself, so what do we pay for. Otherwise, lovely site, would recommend it and will return.

To be honest I am not a caravan fan. I don't own one myself. Hate being stuck behind them etc.

However . I can honestly say that Rudding holiday park and its fantastic facilities has made me somewhat jealous of the sort of holiday that is available to all you tow fans !

I am used to hotels, luxury and to an extent I am probably rather fussy about where I stay.

Having now stayed within the manicured grounds of Rudding with the great views, the golf course back drop, nice pub ( with a POOL !), play area, pet friendly, good shop, hotel, great staff, security and cleanliness makes it the ideal location.

So, if you can get a space. Treat yourselves.

I stayed there for three nights in October. It was even nice in the rain.

A very well run campsite. The disabled facilities are good and very clean. Unfortunately this visit was off season and the pub is only open on restricted dates, but when it is open it is very nice and friendly. As a return visitor (the best recommendation you can get)i have used these facilities in the past.

The site is close to harrogate and leeds, also mother shiptons cave.

A nice, clean well run site.

Hubby and I stayed at this park for 3 nights midweek. We found the site to be very well run. On arrival check in at reception, then wait for a warden to escort you to your pitch,

The shower/toilet facilities were very good. Just walking around the site is a pleasure as the setting is very picturesque. The pool looked very nice just outside of the pub.

The park is very central to both harrogate or leeds, where there is a bus stop right outside of the gates which takes you to either. There is a sainsburys about 5 min drive away for any essentials although there is a shop on site which seemed well stocked.

Will definitely be returning to this park nest season

This was our 1st camping trip. I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff who made our stay well worth it.

5 star. Highly recommend trying this park.

There is plenty for all to do. Kids played all day and there is a nice dog walking area. We don't have a dog but enjoyed the walk.

The friendly atmosphere in the whole area is what made the stay even more pleasant. We are going to book for longer next time.

We choose Rudding Holiday Park for its proximity to Harrogate and the excellent bus service from the gate right outside the Park. Booking was easy despite arriving on a Saturday in the summer and the welcome at reception was excellent. We were quickly sited and relevant information given.

The site was clean and tidy and interesting in its layout. The provision of a pub serving food on site was a bonus and offered an alternative to eating out or self catering.

The swimming pool charges seemed a bit high bearing in mind the cost of pitches especially for families.

The bus was helpful as 15 minutes into Harrogate Bus station and from here you can continue to visit other places with ease. Parking for a motorhome in Harrogate is difficult so for us the bus stop outside was perfect.

No reservation about booking this site again and recommending it to friends.
