Just got back after a 4 night stay. We were a little disappointed with this site.
The drive to the reception is quite impressive and we thought we had chosen well.
However the pitches are very close together with no views other than looking at your neigbours. Caravans and tents were pitched in the same area and the grass was in NEED of a cut. We didnt see any pitches mown whilst we were there.
There was a small lake nearby with ducks and their baby chicks swimming by. It was lovely but there was a dead chick floating near the edge which upset my children.
The play parks were too far away for my children to go alone, when I took them there were some older boys swearing so we left.
The small pool had a charge for every session you used it (1 session was £2.50 per child for 1 and a half hrs!) Children were allowed to constantly jump in and be generally rowdy which put my young children off. The washrooms although they werent the worst we've seen, for the price we paid per night, we expected something more.
I wouldn't have used the washing up facilities as I like to see them without the grime and cobwebs and the bins were over flowing.
I could understand why they would have won an award back in 2001 when everthing was newer, as the surrounding grounds and shrubs are lovely, but I can also see why they havent won it since. If they spent a little more time re grouting (or tiling), new paintwork etc in the toilet blocks making sure the grass was cut regulary and reduce the price of the pool then I'm sure it would help.

We have visited Rudding Park twice now and always found the facilities to be to a high standard, every pitch has electric hook up (in with the price). The staff are always very helpful and make regular trips round checking things are okay. We camp with our two children age 7 and 11 and they love the park and always make friends with other children. So far we have found the site to be very quiet at night (other than the usual snoring problem) we were quite near the bar and were not disturbed at all. There is a Sainsburys nearby and a small shop on site. We have visited Ripon and York and there are lots of other places to go nearby.
Would definatly recommend this site.

Stayed here over August bank holiday weekend when the site was filled to capacity. When we eventually found the park warden we were shown to our pitches, unfotunately they were not the best on the park being under trees and the grass was non existant and we camped on stoney dirt pitches which punctured the air bed. The rest of the site looked fine I guess we were just unlucky. The toilet block was always clean and we never had to queue. Great food in the pub, and shop stocked the basics on site but didnt agree to further charges for the small outdoor pool. On the whole a nice site although slighly pricey for facilities available

This was a lovely site there was no noise, it was a huge site with lots of land to go for nice walks. There was a outdoor heated swimming pool which was lovely and warm, with a pub next to it (The pub was a bit expensive!)The toilets were nice and clean with lovely big showers and even a bath! The only down side was that when we went to wash up there was only 2 sinks and only 1 hot tap that you had to constantly press to stay on.
I think that we will be returning here later this year.

We spent a lovely 2 nights here starting New Years Eve. We arrived at 5pm and the clubhouse had unfortunately sold out of tickets for that evening but that didnt bother us too much so we had a drive into Harrogate which is literally 5 mins down the road by car so great location. We expected some noise being New Years Eve and there was some loud music that went onto about 1am ut after that it was quiet and there are staff who drive around the site to make sure people dont get too rowdy.
Its a very well laid out site, and a clean site, the weather has been bad so we havent managed to have a good walk round but what we have seen its lovely. We went to the clubhouse the 2nd night and had a meal - we were the only people in there and the lady who runs it was lovely and the food was excellent. I didnt use the toilet and shower facilities but my partner did and he said they were spot on with plenty of hot water, lots of space and a seperate drying area and hair dryers. We have booked to come again this weekend.

First impression very friendly and tidy site. Pitch located to wood chalets, ground even and location tidy. Toilets close by and very clean. Plenty for kids to do, i.E. Climbing frames, amusements, excellent outdoor heated pool, table tennis and pool tables. Bar looked fine and would highly recommend site and will visit again.

We've just returned this week from a few days stay at the park and have to give it top marks. There was plenty of room in lovely surroundings to pitch the tent and you can also choose your pitch. It was very peaceful and all the staff seemed really friendly ( except for the young barmaid , who maybe should consider another profession). The pub was nice and catered well for families with good food. My only gripe was after paying the price of the pitch it then cost a further £2.50 per child to use the pool for 1hr 20mins cause the session ends 10mins before the end , ready for the next session so it can be a bit pricey. Apart from that we loved it and will definitely be going back !

We recently spent a weekend camping at Rudding Park and were impressed by the facilities. The showers and toilets were very clean and the park was well kept. The swimming pool is good but we would have thought that with a pitch price of £25 per night the pool might be included. It wasn't and costs £2.50 per person for a 1.5 hour session. A fly in the ointment was a group of rowdy people who partied and kept up a high volume string of foul language until about 3 am on our first night. A park ranger drove past regularly but did nothing. They left and the second night was very peaceful.

We had a seasonal touring pitch at this site for 10 years. Staff from all areas of the site were very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Older kids do hang around but they are all great. They treat the site and people with respect as they are from families that have been on this site for years. In my experience the majority of the noise (which was very seldom!) was from weekend campers up on the main field or a wedding at the hotel. Superb site!

We spent a great Saturday night here in May 07. The surroundings are lovely. Showers/loos second to none, and there was plenty of room on the pitches. We had a hard standing but grass pitches were available too. There was a mixture of caravans, motorhomes and tents. The Deer House pub was nice, and the food was lovely. The shop is open limited hours but that wasn't a problem. We were also pleased to find a bus stop just outside the main gates. Buses to Harrogate and back every 30mins on Saturdays until about 11.30pm. And every hour from 10am on Sundays. It took about 10/15mins to get to the town centre. One of the best things was we didn't have to be off site until 6pm on Sunday. As we had travelled down after work on Saturday afternoon this meant we could have a lovely campervan-free day out in Harrogate on Sunday before heading off home. There were quite a lot of children on site, but they were all well behaved and happily playing together. An extra bonus was all the wildlife we saw around the site. Lots of bunny rabbits, squirrels and ducks. Aaaahhh!
