Despite the terrible weather we still had a lovely stay at Moffatt. The staff on site are very welcoming and help you get set up if required.
The town is within easy walking distance with a spar just around the corner. Lovely public park with pond just off main street.
The facility block is large and clean, however could be doing with general upgrade. This site is very large and very busy which speaks volumes.
Would return again.

This was the first time away in my new campervan (new to me anyway). Found the site easily and it was nice to have a guy on a bike take me to my allotted plot. He pointed out where the facilities were and the shortcut to the Co op for my paper in the morning.
Facilities were good. Very clean and plenty of hot water. Weather was terrible for the 3 days I was there but that wasn't the fault of the site.
Couldn't get a decent tv signal but think that was maybe the type of aerial I had. Have sorted that now.
Hope to manage to have a few more days before the end of the summer and I will definitely be back.

We have just returned from 5days at Moffat.
It was our first attempt at camping our ages ranged from 14-67. On entering the site we were made welcome by the staff who showed us to our spot and gave us good advice on how to set up and told us if we were stuck they would give us a hand we managed fine.
The facilities were spotless plenty of toilets and washing areas.
The site is kept spotless with the staff working all the time to keep it like this.
The friendliness of the staff is second to none.
Thanks again and we will definitely be back.
Moffat itself is lovely with plenty of shops etc to keep us busy.

Stayed here on our way to the highland and I must say what a cracking site this is, not only is the location perfect (right on the edge of town) but the staff were very friendly without being over zealous with the rule book like a lot of c and c sites, ,
Grounds were lovely and tidy, showers spot on, next to fishing lakes and garden centre, ,
Co op just round the corner next to a lovely park, do try the black bull pub as its got a nice little courtyard to take your dog, most pubs here are doggy friendly anyway.
You may have to book in advance as this site gets busy on weekends. Really nice

We have recently returned from a 2 night stay at the Moffat Camping and Caravan Club Site. This is an outstanding site for a number of reasons and we will definitely be returning.
We were very impressed with the high standard of service from the staff team who could not have been more friendly and helpful. The staff demonstrated the perfect balance of having a presence around the site without being intrusive.
I had made a special request regarding pitch location and when I arrived the staff had remembered this and pointed the pitch out on the site map in reception to check this was what I wanted. I was towing the caravan myself as my husband was joining me later and I was delighted that the 2 male wardens not only escorted me to my pitch but very kindly unhitched the caravan and had it positioned perfectly in no time at all.
I particularly liked the information sheet you are given which includes information about where you are entitled to discount and various contact numbers should you require them. We had to call a vet, it turned out just for advice, but it was helpful having the contact number there so we didn’t need to go searching for a number for the nearest vet.
The site is flat and spacious with plenty of room between caravans. There are hardstanding pitches and plenty of grass around the site.
Toilet blocks were kept very clean, with plenty of hot water, good sized shower cubicles and several toilets. These didn’t feel busy when I was there, even though I think the site was full.
A couple of minutes walk and you are in Moffat which has places to eat, drink and a variety of shops. Personal favourites - 2 charity shops, the Moffat Shop where you can buy their famous toffee and a massive selection of “old style sweetie jars filled with all sorts” and a butcher (where we bought food for our BBQ). We had a drink in the Black Bull and saw food being served which looked lovely.
Station Park is a lovely little Park nearby with swan pedalos on a lake, a children’s carousel, ducks to feed etc.
All in all a great site, with helpful staff. We will definitely be returning soon.

Great site, Surprised how big it is and how busy it was for the weekend, especially with the rain the week before. Friendly staff, escorted to pitch on arrival, plenty of space around you, your not packed in. Plenty of hardstandings. Considering number of campers, there was little if any noise on an evening. Facilities very good, plenty of hot water. Little gripe maybe shower heads could be 6in higher. The whole site and facilities are kept very clean throughout. Plenty of water and waste points.
Can highly recommend the food in the Black Bull round the corner to.
Will definitely return.

What a lovely site, we stayed here during the October school holidays with our 13 year old son and we were very impressed. Lovely warm welcome on arrival and escorted to our pitch and assistance given with hook up.
The only downside we found was the lack of area to play ball games. The town was a short walk away also the Moffatt wool centre and convenient for the local supermarket where we were able to replenish the cupboards before moving on. We would definitely recommend this site and we will be returning in the future.

We were surprised how busy this site was fairly late on in the season. Not at all cramped though with fair size hard standing pitches.
The toilet / shower block very clean - very large and fairly old though and feels a bit like a school changing room.
The wardens were extremely friendly and helpful - they made time to say hello but worked hard to keep the site spotless.
The site is literally a few minutes walk from Moffat town centre. On the Sunday we went to the monthly Local Prodce market in the town hall. Stunning selection of home made pies, pastries, cakes, breads, smoked cheeses etc etc - well worth a visit for this alone. Believe its a monthly market.
This is a great site if you want to park up and walk around. There are several very good walking trails from the main road 2 minutes from the site. The Riverside walk is flat, about 2 miles and very scenic.
The Station Park is just behind the site, lovely lake, children's play area etc - again well kept and worth a walk around.
Moffat Woollen mill appears to be a big draw with several coaches a day pulling in - typical of mill shops in the area but pleasant enough to wander for an hour if it rains and again literally 2 minutes from the site.
We ate Sunday lunch in the Moffat House Hotel. Good cavery and friendly service but £10. 95 and several other pubs and hotels in the town centre offering cheaper lunches.
All in all a lovely site in a great location with great wardens. When C&CC update the shower / toilets will be a 10/10 destination.

Stayed here for one night at the start of our months touring holiday and again at the end. What a lovely site.
Well set out, not overcrowded even when busy. Facilities are clean but out-dated (please give them an upgrade).
There is a great dog walk on site by the river. The staff are very friendly and I was most impressed that the chappie on the bike who showed us to our pitch remembered us from our previous stay a month earlier, nice touch considering how many people he must see in a month.
There is a large Co-op just five minutes away. The town is on the doorstep and is great.
The Buccleuch Arms Hotel is dog-friendly and very nice, the staff are pleasant (even gave the dogs biscuits), but the food is expensive.
Will definitely return.

Our fourth visit love this site great staff and well laid out. A short walk to the town with everything you could possible need had New Year Eve visit with Piper and fireworks at midnight in town.
On site the staff organised a party but we met friends in town. Great in the summer too next door to a coop and The Moffatt Mill where you can buy any thing you need to remind you of your visit to Scotland, Whisky, Haggis and Moffatt Toffee a must for my family, they have a café and restaurant.
There is two dog walks, one by a small brook
A good toilet block, all basins are privacy cubicle and about 6 showers. To be honest did not count but only saw a queue once and the site was full there is a wash up area and laundry.
There is no shop on site as such but you are so close to coop and town it is not needed. I think reception has ice cream and gas. You can walk out of the back of the site to a garden centre that has a play room for children under cover and a large fishing lake which was very busy while we were there, also a nice coffee shop for mum and dad.
The Famous Star Hotel only 20 feet wide do nice food and the butchers on the corner is great. We will be back again next year
