This was my second time to this site and thought I should add a review! Both times here have been wonderful, the staff are very friendly and help-full, and the facilities are extremely well looked after and are cleaned every day for an hour and a half, so they are always spotless with tons of hot water. Never mind the animals being good for the kids, great for the adults to as the horses ate all our fruit! A very nice, clean and friendly site! Would recommend to anyone!

This was a lovely site and our children loved the animals `Dalmation Piglets`, donkeys, goats e.t.c in the field next door. There is a great adventure playground at the Hammerlands Centre which is right beside the touring park. I did get a slight impression that the camp site is a little `strict` but then the positive of this is that there was no hassle and facilities were absolutely spotless. I did notice there was a lot of elderly and I worry about this when I have young children as some love children and equally some dont (probably for good reasons though)

We visited this site over the Easter weekend. It was our first trip to a CCC site and if they are all like this we will be pleased. The site was level and the wardens very friendly and efficient. The amenities block, whilst slightly dated, was clean and there was oodles of hot water.
The site is next to a Garden centre\fishery\animal farm and discounts were given when eating in their coffee shop. We can definitely recommend the breakfasts which were huge and good value. We'll certainly return to Moffat and this site.

This site is fine if you are tired and hungry and need a stop over. They squash you in with a minimum of space and next to no privacy. Toilets are clean but like an army barracks facility. Fees are expensive and booking in takes forever. One night is enough, though the town of Moffat is worth walking around. Police regularly patrol around the site-puts one off a bit.

Contrary to the other post, we did not find it to be not child-friendly. The nice play area kept our son occupied for several hours and he made friends with the many other children there.
It is a nice level, well-kept site with nice views though it is basically just a very large field with a big toilet block in the centre. A bit of landscaping would have helped it seem more secluded.
the toilet block was very clean and tidy but rather soulless as it is just a great long room with endless rows of cubicles which turn out to be divided into loos, wash-cubicles and showers. The shower I had was nice and roomy and I really thought is was great to have enough room to move (often not a feature of campsite showers) but my husband complained of the clingy nylon shower curtain (mine did not have this hazard!).
The site is quite easy to find, but remember to believe the signpost pointing to a tiny road right in the middle of the town - it really is down there!

This is an attractive and peaceful site, well kept with friendly managers. There is a co-op some 200 yards from the site for fresh morning bread! Good for children with a play area. the facilities are clean and spacious. moffat is a pleasant town to shop in. there is a farm full of interesting animals next to the site-llamas, donkeys, etc and a park a short walk away which has a boating pond and water spray play area good on hot days-take spare clothing and towels for kids! also golf putting pitch.

Spent a weekend here as a group of 4 families in tents. Found the site to be well looked after and well located. Our problem was that we found the site not to be child friendly even though they do have childrens facilities . Our children are well behaved but were constantly being told off for minor stuff like cycling too fast etc. Anyway if you go there it is very well kept with large clean toilets, there is no shop on site but a couple of minutes takes you in to Moffat where there are lots of shops and things to see and do.

August 2001 This site is level and grassy with good facilities. It is near the M74 so is a good stop over. The site does become very wet and muddy when it is raining. The site is busy but the managers are friendly and helpful. The town of Moffat is a short walk from the site and there are many places to eat or drink.
