Good but busy site within a minutes walk of the village centre. Facilities were dated but always clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Some great walks in the surrounding hills. Co-op almost next door to the site for provisions. The local pubs all seem to stop serving food at 8.00 which we found strange, lucky for us a friendly couple directed us to a great Italian restaurant which is away from the village centre (recommend the pizza!).
Good site, nice village and walks. Would happily return

Having just bought our caravan, and not towed before, we wanted a site not too far away. On arrival, staff were pleasant and helpful. The warden showed us to our pitch and helped us into position ( a big help)!
Very close to the town, just a 5 minute walk. Large Co-Op next to the site.
A very positive and enjoyable experience for our first outing in our new caravan. A quiet site with good pitch sizes, and a good amount of space between the pitches. However, the toilet and shower block, although spotlessly clean, were a bit dated.
Would visit again.

Very busy site even mid-week. If you go make sure you get on an hard standing as the grass pitches got very full with not much attention paid to the 6mtr rule, also if the Forestry School Students are on site then keep well away as some of them liked a party.
The Site Manager did not allow us to pick a pitch but lead us to the one they wanted us on, I prefer to chose my own as most C&CC sites allow. The toilet block is nicely central and although a bit dated was kept very clean. Plenty of water and waste points. Shopping is available in Moffat and at the coop which is only 5 minutes walk from the site.
We only booked there for a short rest on the way home after a five week tour but there was so much to do in the area that we stayed for 8 nights. No rest. I recommend a visit to Craigieburn Gardens 2 1/2 miles up the A708, they are the most beautiful I have ever visited.
Hammerlands Centre (google it) a 2 minutes walk from the site, is a really enjoyable place with very good reasonably priced food and plenty to do. I cannot say the same for The Moffat Woollen Mill. Hammerlands are in the early stages of opening a 5 van site and may be worth considering later.
We will certainly visit this area again

Site is in a nice location and Moffat itself is a lovely little town with plenty of shops, pubs and eating places.
The site is quite a big one and certainly seemed pretty full when we were there. I prefer hard standing pitches and it looked like they had a little more space to themselves as the grass ones were all pretty close together.
Toilet facilities are a little old fashioned but I've no complaints as they were the usual C&CC standard and spotless. Wardens too were very helpful.
If you like hill walking the area is particularly good without being over-challenging. The White Coombe is a short drive away and from the top provides great views over much of southern Scotland.

The site was the usual good standard you'd expect from a Camping & Caravanning Club site. Moffat is a sweet little town with lots of dog friendly pubs and a good Indian Takeaway.
If the weather's against you though, this isn't a great site for tents. It rained heavily overnight when we stayed and the following morning the pitch resembled a paddy field. It was far too wet for us and we were splashing our way across to the showers/ toilet. We didn't complete out stay and came home early. The caravanners seemed OK though.

A very nice site, well maintained and always very clean and tidy toilet blocks. Have had two summer holidays here for 2 weeks at a time and also done the last 2 may day bank holidays and thoroughly enjoyed this location.
Husband and the kids love fishing so Hammerlands Centre over the back of campsite is a 5 minute walk and the kids always seem to disappear off there. There is no childs play area anymore, however our kids are too old for play area now and happy to visit other things, kids are handy for sending to the shop as they don't have to cross the road to get there.
There are plenty of shops in the main street and many restaurants with reasonable priced menus. The co-op is 5 mins walk from site it is a small local store but stocks everything you could need and more for your stay.
We visited Selkirk around 30 miles away and has a couple of nice little musuems to visit this was a really lovely day out. You are only an hour from Glasgow and an hour the other way to Carlisle, there is also Lockerbie 13 miles away with a big tesco and Dumfries so plenty to do not too far away.
We love this site and kids have met same friends both summers we visited. We got a big surprise this year when kids had cousins staying on site and we did not even know they were coming so kids really enjoyed that
Would definitely visit again

Just home from a great 3 days on this site as a first time caravaner, but have camped in the past this site was perfect. Very friendly and no shortage of people to help you out with the wee things. This site is a great wee stop over if travelling from north to south I would recommend this site. The town of Moffat is only a minutes walk away with plenty to see and do

We spent a couple of nights here during some cold and snowy weather. The large site was almost deserted. I don't think I would like to be here when it is full! Good location for a stop off although I would personally prefer more rural surroundings for a longer stay. Even though the visitors were almost outnumbered by the wardens everything was cleaned and checked as if the site was full.
The amenity block was a bit barrack looking and rather dated but spotlessly clean.
It is good to see the Clubs encouraging out of main season use by opening their facilities for more of the year. However, it would not have been an economic proposition whilst we were there.
5 minutes from town centre where there is an excellent selection of good value and high quality places to eat. Highly recommended for a stop off or short breaks.

1st visit to this site and a great wee site, one minor fault is that the signposting is poor as yours truly missed a right turn after the nursery and turned left into a carpark for some flats, 5 minutes and after unhitching and shoving a caravan in a tight carpark before hitching on and getting to the site
Anyway the site itself is great, wardens very friendly, level hardstanding pitches, tarmac roads on site (makes pushing the wheelchair easy), toilet block is spotless and showers lovely and warm. Location wise it is perfect with shops, pubs and eateries a 5 minute walk away. The wee italian eatery across the road on the right is highly recommended. Meat eating mum assures me that the products from the butchers on the main street are to die for.
The site is great for dog owners with 2 areas that the 4 legged can go for a wee run, friend's collie Cora certainly gave it the paws up.
I am getting that I am using more club sites as opposed to commercial sites, you can see the investment and the customer care is far better. Will certainly use Moffat again

Just back from a very pleasant stay at this nice site.
There is a good mix of hard standing and grass pitches, the hard standing seem larger than the grass but maybe that's because they're marked out and the grass ones aren't.
The toilet block is very good with ample showers, laundry room, dishwashing facilities and a baby change room.
Moffat is a 2 min walk, where there is an excellent selection of restaurants, enough to suit everyone!
The staff were very friendly and helpful, be careful on approach to the site as you may think you have taken a wrong turn, when you go down the wee road and reach a children's nursery in front of you, go left, not straight ahead.
Great site well worth a visit.
