Great difficulty finding the site. Sign posts next to useless and handwritten. Arrived on site at 12 and waited 10 mins for warden to return from cleaning toilets. They close the toilets for an hour for this. Nice welcome and grateful for wardens help in reversing caravan. Albeit a little patronising. Site is very flat and spacious. Unfortunately wardens seemed to spend most of the day on a noisy lawnmower cum tractor. Not that peaceful I have to say. Dog walks provided but extremely short and limited. Basically a dog toilet in the trees. Not much of a walk. River walk nice but again very short and quite deep water, so warning signs everywhere. Friendly staff. Toilet block large and warm with lots of sinks, wcs and a few showers. Free showers is a bonus. Easy short walk up to town though the road to the Grey Mares Tail nature reserve had been closed for some weeks and the site office couldn't really say where it was closed exactly.

Another visit for the New Year celebrations once again the staff were great friendly and helpful always make you feel welcome. The weather was awful it rained none stop for 25 hours on the Monday we were actually put on flood alert once again the staff were great and came to each van and motor home to keep us informed. As usual the toilet blocks were clean and warm. A night out to celebrate New Year was organised in a private room in a local pub. The rain stopped for the Celebrations and fireworks and a good night was enjoyed by all. The site is only a short walk from the small town with plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars and is round the corner from the large Moffatt Mill centre(open New Years Day and does a great breakfast) and a coop for your Scottish breakfast rolls a must. We will be back

Still a very busy site in October. It's a large site, well spaced our pitches but a bit soulless for us. The large toilet / shower block is kept clean but resembles a school block and feels cold and unwelcoming.
We were shown to a pitch - not sure how pitches are allocated as we passed plenty of empty pitches near the facilities and were taken to the further point at the rear of the site. Wardens themselves were friendly and its more a comment on C&CC than the wardens as to why you are given a pitch rather than choose.
The site is within minutes of the town which is lovely. Plenty of independent shops, cafes and hotels. There is also a large EWM which does a full cooked breakfast for £6 buy one get one free. Site is really well placed for stopovers for those heading further north / south - just a few minutes off the motorway.
Its a really popular site so it obviously does tick boxes for the majority, just not for us. We would use for a stopover but probably not for longer stays.

Second visit to this large and well organised site close to a very friendly town! On arrival we were showed to our chosen pitch by very nice man on bike! (site quite full but still a choice of pitches. ) Only slight downside is some pitches quite close and overlooked but then again we like to talk to people and have nothing to hide! Good food, free wifi in the dog friendly Buccleuch Hotel 5 mins from site. (0ne of several that give 10% off with your Club receipt. ) TV reception good.
Great stop off point for those travelling on main south north routes etc.
1. Pro: First site we have visited this year where the 'Caution - very hot water' sign was true! Other 20 or so sites(both clubs and private) the sign really meant 'let hot water run and you may get warm water eventually' ! Well done C&C club Moffat.
2. Con: the Motorhome grey water emptying point is situated as you first enter the site - to use it when leaving means leaving the site and entering again thus completing 2 laps! Also situated in a very restricted turning area if your emptying point is on the near side of your van. Why not have emptying point as you leave the site - there is another possible drainage location adjacent to the site caravan storage area taps near the exit route? None of this will bother 'tuggers' however so that's alright then!

This is a typical camping and caravan site. The showers/toilets were spotless and the site very tidy. It is very handy for the town centre with its co-op and numerous hotels most of which are very dog friendly. The only minor criticism I had was that the toilets were closed between 10. 30 am and 12 noon just as people were packing up to leave.
The wardens were particularly friendly ie helping everyone set up and park vans

Just arrived here today but very impressed with the site. A very tranquil site, sat outside this afternoon, how tranquil it was, no aeroplane/ helicopter noise, or tractors cutting grass, no horses clip clopping down the lane, no dogs barking, although there is quite a lot of dogs on site. Been to quite a few sites in England this year, but this one in Scotland beats them all so far.
The town of Moffat is just 2 minutes walk from the site, which we will be exploring tomorrow. So I will give another update later

An excellent site with all you'd expect from a C&CC site - well laid out, very clean, tarmac roads, good hardstands, etc.
Moffat is very nice and is only a short walk away with loads pubs and smaller shops.
Biggest disappointment was the 'Welcome' after I expressed a mock disappointment that there were no Hooks up available as they were almost full. Apparently we should have phoned in advance but that's quite difficult without any signal.
We were directed to one of the remaining spaces, not a pitch, in front of the long term caravan storage area and charged over £23, the same price as club service pitch. Suffice to say we generally don't use C&CC main sites unless it's absolutely necessary.

First time to moffat and will definitely be back. Lovely site. Level pitches and good access to town and only 2 mins from m74. Shower block a bit dated but more than adequate and always very clean, a credit to the friendly and helpful staff. A bit pricey as we are not members but probably worth joining if going again. 5 mins walk into town with all local shops, bakers, butchers etc and a regular bus service. We went to Glasgow for a day out £12. 40 return and only took 1 hour 20 mins worth it to leave the car on site

Very well run site with friendly and efficient staff. We arrived about 8pm and it was no trouble to them to help us to our pitch and assist with unhitching. Large site with hardstanding and grass pitches. Garden centre and fishing next door where you can sit and have a coffee watching people fish in lovely surroundings. Well placed for all local amenities, town, country walks, places to eat and drink. Farmers market on a sunday. Fantastic start to our holiday and will certainly be returning. All facilities were clean and plenty of hot water for showers. All in all a very well run site.

Just back from this site, . Liked it here so booked again for next week, Moffat town and shops all great, campsite is well staffed and well run, very clean and tidy, toilet block first class, will use again and again. Loved it. Need come back to see car rally at end of the month, this was only our second time caravanning, loved it, everyone on the site was friendly, one guy even set up our satellite tv for us. Camp rangers helped us park they even pushed my van onto she pitch. Water and waste easy to sort out. Good Tarmac roads in the site.
