Nice peaceful site only 10 minutes from the M74, so a handy stop for travelling north or south.
A small supermarket on the doorstep, and just 5 minutes walk to the pretty little town which has shops, pubs and restaurants for all.
A typical club site with the excellent facilities we expect.
A large site, but which has become increasingly busy in recent years and so now essential to book ahead.
M74 aside the site is also handy for local outdoor attractions such as the Grey Mare’s Tail waterfall, and the Annandale Way.

Our almost annual stop en route to somewhere else, we'd use it more if they allowed single nights. C£41 pn (members, mid week, age concession). Free Wi-Fi didn't reach the extension area.
Quiet re noise, busy re movement: it's a spectator sport in the afternoon, watching motorhomes & caravans following Managers on bikes or electric scooters going around the site choosing their pitch; a long queue at the entrance at opening time.
Our usual walk up and around Gallow Hill was great for our energetic dog, as the 2 small fenced dog areas are only useful for comfort breaks.
Handy Co-Op nearby; the pizza tent at the entrance does not open on weekdays; try the "Moffat Tasty" at R Little Bakers - a fruity tea cake with shavings of Moffat Toffee; Claudio's Italian Restaurant at the main road does GF pizzas and take-aways.
I have two gripes this year:
Three shower cubicles were locked, meaning less cleaning for the staff but a queue in the rush before closure at 10:30. There is a toilet in the disabled washroom for people who need the loo 10:30-12:00, but you're not allowed to use the shower there.
And all the bins are at the entrance of this huge site, including all the dog waste bins (bar one at the Green Frog dog walk).
This saves many plastic bags, but people had put poo bags & other general rubbish into the nearer washroom waste bin instead - not nice, but the stern "polite notice" posted on the door was probably wasted on the people who do such things.
Possibly related, we cleared up after two other dogs during our stay. If the bin for empty shampoo bottles etc has gone by our next visit, the threat to remove it has been implemented.
Easier, surely, to move one of the 2 dog bins at the small dog run onto the railing near the CDP.

First time visiting this site. Check in was easy, member of staff waiting outside reception, asked name then took us round to our pitch as deposit was paid when booking & rest of money taken day of arrival.
Site is big & was very busy but so quiet. It was only the following weekend we saw children & they were further down in the site.
There was lots of coming & going as site is ideal stop off for going or returning from Scotland as only 1 mile from M74. You are a few minutes walk from the small town centre.
A bus comes into town which we took one day to go to Dumfries. We visited a small garden about 2 miles from the site call Craigieburn £5 admission each, it was nice to walk around.
A few minutes from the site is a small park with a pond & over the road signpost on walks around the village.
There is an outlet shop & a Co-op next to it.
Moffat has pub, fish shop & cafe's.
We enjoyed our stay very much & did well for the weather too.

Wow what a beautiful site, greeted by warden as I drove in shown available pitches and where the amenities were, within 5 minutes of arriving we were pitched up and having a brew.
Site is only a 5 minute walk into town or to the adjacent mill shopping and a large co op supermarket.
This site is immaculate and spotless ideal stopover on way to the highlands.

I just love this site we visit quite a few times a year with the Glasgow DA.
It's very close to the main street, and is in an ideal place for visiting the surrounding area.

It's many years since we've stopped here, and the site has doubled in size. We were in the newest extension, a sheep field away from the Green Frog caravan site where they sell breakfasts, coffee etc.
It's a fair trek from there to the one toilet block; often a queue in the morning at the one CDP.
Good showers, the curtains have been removed so you need to hang everything high up, and they're closed for cleaning from 10:30 to departure time.
Friendly wardens, kept busy taking people to their pitches at 5 minute intervals after lunch.
This bonny town has many places to eat & drink within walking distance, though the Pizza place beside the entrance was never "open tonight" on our midweek stop.
The two dog walks are ok for comfort breaks; for a good walk (if you're reasonably fit), there's a splendid walk up & around & over wooded Gallow Hill, with views to the Lake District.
There's also a new Gin distillery on the edge of town.

Fantastic site, within walking distance of Moffat town which is very dog friendly.
Holiday site assistants are extremely helpful and friendly.
Toilets are immaculate and pitches are well kept, flower arrangements at reception are lovely.
Two dog walks on site and a lovely riverside walk nearby.
I’ve already booked to return with my dog in July.

Loved the way they show you to your pitch on their bikes. Darren showed us to ours and he was lovely. All the wardens were lovely and chatty.
Pitches are good sizes.
Facilities were spotless. 2 dog walks on site.
Short walk to the town where the hotels and cafes are all dog friendly. The garden centre next door do lovely tea and scones too.
Would say this is one of the best sites I’ve been to for cleanliness, walking distance from town and friendliness.

We love this site.
Only an hour up the road for us but return when we are able to get on the site which is always busy.
Lovely friendly wardens.
The facilities are exceptional. Love the proximity to the town, easy walk to the shops and doggy friendly pubs.
Plenty of local walks too.
Highly recommend

We have been to this site many times in tents and caravans.
The staff are always welcoming and friendly and the pitches are good and level. There are plenty of water taps around the site.
We like it because it is a very short walk into the town of Moffat where there are several pubs, cafes and other places to eat. There is a large Co-op supermarket nearby which makes stocking up very easy. There are a lot more shops in the town.
It is a really great site and I know that we will be back many times.
