A group of us visited this site, some with 6/7 year old kids, and it is an excellent site for relaxed family breaks. Unlike some of the bigger sites, it doesn't have tarmacked roads running through it. But it is set in great countryside, with forest walks on the doorstep, and Filey a short drive away.
The owners are some of the nicest people your ever likely to meet to, and our daughter loved watching the chickens and other animals.
This site is one on the list that we'd return to without hesitation for a relaxing family break, or for walking. The nearby forest also has some excellent mountain bike trails I believe.

This was our first visit to this site and we loved it.
The pitches were flat and spread out with long grass and wild flowers giving privacy to the field. We went with friends and we both had huge tents and awnings and we were able to pitch the tents together and get lovely views over the open countryside and woodland. The drainage on the campsite was great despite torrential rain the ground remained firm - big bonus!
Owners were friendly and helpful. Good facilities (basic but very clean) 2 showers, 4 toilets, an indoor washing up area and a free tumble dryer - very useful as it poored down when we went!
In total we went with 5 young children and they loved the amount of space they had to fly kites and run around in (especially the long grass) The closeness of lovely walks through the meadow or woodland was a big bonus and the chickens, geese and horses on the way to the toilets were delightful!
This is a really peaceful campsite, lots of children were there when we went, all of which were really well behaved so much so you'd hardly know they were there. We were able to get the kids in bed and asleep when they needed to be without any noise disturbing them which was lovely, and enabled us to have wonderful peaceful relaxing evenings with a glass of wine (and brollies!)
Plenty to do in the surrounding areas, Scarbrough has a good swimming pool and Filey had a lovely beach with donkey rides, crazy golf and small boating pond.
Really glad we visited and will be visiting again regularly I am sure!

This was our first ever camping trip (complete with 2yr old and 5yr old sons) and unfortunately it poured down with rain whilst we put the tent up and continued to rain practically the whole time. Despite this, the campsite was wonderful - it was peaceful, well maintained, the facilities were clean, lots of space and very friendly campers (one young lad even came and helped us put up the tent - thanks Simon!). There was lots of open space for our young lads to play (even in the rain!), the owners were friendly and helpful and the rural setting was just what we needed - we positioned our tent so when our door was open, all we could see was trees and woodland - wonderful. We are looking forward to a return visit in a month - hopefully with a bit of sunshine this time!

We love this site.
Lovely flat well mown pitches, with plenty of choice for wind protection. Several secluded pitches towards the top end of the field, yet the main large field doesn't feel regimented. For those wanting hook up, there's still a choice of where to pitch, the pitches aren't set in stone.
Two unisex toilets, two bathrooms and dish washing area were kept immaculate. V friendly owner.
Wheelchair access to the bathrooms is easy, but to the toilets, wash area and sockets is cobbled, but doable.
Beautiful views of Flamborough from the top field.
Mountainbike routes accessible from the site.
The petrol station at the bottom of the lane has a large looking Spar attached to it. The Dennison arms was too busy for us to venture in, but will try it in future.
Scarborough is an easy drive.
We will most definitely be returning to this site.

Just got back from spending 3 nights, I loved every minute. The site is a no frills site, but got everything you need although very basic.
Ken (owner) was very pleasant. The site is in the middle of a working farm so rural. Fantastic location for walks in the forest, close to Scarborough for a little more entertainment etc. We also visited Boggle bay which is great for fossil hunting and also for exploring the rock pools.
Will definitely return to this site!

What a lovely place! Very relaxed and laid back, Even though there was quite a few campers on site, it didn't feel busy.
There was lots of hot water and the owner, Ken, was very friendly. Will have to re-visit soon.

3 families visiting for the first time, 2 with tents and 1 caravan. What a lovely site this is as all the previous reviews state. One of the nicest sites we have been on. Very quiet even though there were several family groups on the site and the children were playing it was still very relaxed and peaceful.
The owner Ken is a very cheerful easy going site owner who frequently walks around to check all his visitors are ok without you feeling he is checking up on you. Nothing is too much trouble. No shop or clubhouse on site but the site would be spoilt if there was. Only criticism is the lack of other facilities - two showers and two shared men/women toilets is nowhere near enough for this site. Also there is only one washing up sink and this is inside the toilet block which is not ideal for either those washing up or visiting the loo! don't let this put you off though the site is well worth a visit.
Unfortunately when approached by another camper the owner Ken did admit to not having read any of the reviews on here which is a shame and not very good business sense, so I am going to email the site also. A few more showers and toilets and this site would be 100% perfect.

Another enjoyable weekend at this site but as it was bank holiday it was very overcrowded and the facilities just aren't enough to cope with the demand. There is only one sink to wash dishes and there was a constant queue. There are only 2 showers so I found it easier to try and get in one of those late evening and made do with a bowl of water and a quick swill in a morning. I heard a lot of people moaning but we just got on with it as the location more than makes up for it. Would definitely visit again but will avoid bank holidays and peak holiday season.

Overall, a very nice site. Fairly spacious with large central area useful for kids cricket. It was simple - just a big field with electric hook around the edge. Nice and simple, the way I like it but I did feel it was overpriced a little bit. Elsewhere I have paid a lot less money for a lot more facilities.
The site looked full with about 30 tents but only had one pot washing up sink. There were often queues but at least the owner provided books to read while waiting! Only two toilets as well, again often queue. Only two showers of which only one had any practical use as the other was simply not warm enough. Try explaining to a five year you've got to have a cold shower! I think the owner knew that two showers were not enough as plenty of chairs were provided for those waiting. Fortunately we had a hot weather weekend and this made matters tolerable and in all honesty the queues were not that long but they were common. However I don't fancy queuing for these facilities whilst standing in the rain. Likewise if I had paid less I would have accepted what I got but £58 for three nights I expect a bit more.
Having said all that moaning I did enjoy the isolation, the wildlife and the owner was great. It was very informal and although the site was full I didn't feel cramped in. I will probable go back but will be prepared to queue. Oh yes, nearly fogot - all EHU failed at approx 10pm one night but was sorted out within 10 mins so whilst anoying at the time it was good that it was sorted very quickly.

Just got back from a lovely stay at this very peaceful site. The site isn't crowded at all and we pitched in a bit where the tents were in a large circle round the edge of a field. This left room for kids to play ball games, etc in the middle. Nice walks from the site and saw lots of birds, rabbits and a hare! Sometimes a bit of a queue for the 2 loos. Would be nice if the use of a freezer could be provided for people who aren't using EHU.
