This is a really great site, Ken the owner could not be more helpful and friendly, it is in a fantastic setting and although way way off the beaten track the sat nav takes you straight there which is always a bonus.
I feel the only thing that lets it down are the toilet facilities, don't get me wrong the toilet, sinks & showers are constantly being cleaned by Ken but the toilets are in a barn that seem to have had a couple of bits of wood put up to separate men from women's, they do not offer any privacy which personally I really don't like, having said that other people in our group said it didn't matter to them at all, maybe I am more Mrs Bouquet than I thought but, it was a problem for me.
Other friends were staying in one of the cottages which I must say have been refurbished to a very high standard, they were really nice, maybe the toilet block might get the same treatment. Fingers crossed.
All in all the site is really nice and friendly with beautiful walks just outside your tent door, so we will definitely return.

Brilliant site, so peaceful and welcoming, exactly what camping is all about. The camping field is spacious and well laid out with plenty of options for siting your tent (big or small). Plenty of room for all and for the kids to play games. Woodland walks direct from the back of the site. Facilities are basic but functional. Owners couldn't be more helpful. Definitely will be returning as soon as we can.

Cracking site. Magnificent setting away from it all. Totally peaceful. No road noise - just pheasants and the cockerel! Space for kids to play. Walks in the woods straight from the back of the site. Minimal facilities, but perfectly functional. The owner is friendly and funny, and he even drives your caravan into place for you using his mini tractor.

This is our third visit
Our Grand children aged 4 and 7 love the place
Its in open country side and is a very well kept site with very few rule (only sensible ones)
It seems to attract families and not your larger louts
I feel my grand kids are safe to roam around and see Boris the horse and chickens etc
It is a very rustic feeling site (more what a camp site should be)with all the basic needs - washing, showers and toilets are basic but spotless and very fit for purpose yes it can be busy so you soon learn to work round it and use at less busy times
Its a great base to visit area and near to villages with good pubs serving good food mini market in local garage
To be honest my grand kids wont here a wrong word about it and look forward to our next visit
And a final word. Ken the owner is a fantastic guy who seems more bothered about you enjoying your stay than profit
Many Thanks see you soon

We have just spent a very enjoyable week in one of the holiday homes at the site. We usually camp but due to my wife's ill health we decided to go a for a holiday cottage instead.
On arrival there was a complimentary pack of biccies and tea on the counter for us. The quick tour revealed a downstairs bedroom with the bathroom next to it, no issues on hot water at all. The kitchen was small but adequate with everything you will ever need to cook up a storm. The dining area is attached and has a nice pine table, chairs and a bench to seat 6 or 7 (there was only the 3 of us and 2 visitors during the week). The main room has sofas, chairs, coffee table and the (narrow) stairs to the upper bedrooms. There is a TV with DVD and a fireplace with a fire, electric? We didn't need it, the central heating was more than adequate. Upstairs there are 2 more sleeping areas, one on a mezzanine with a double bed and a separate room with 2 single beds. Enough for 6 to sleep in comfort. Outside is a small patio with table and chairs to sit out on.
The area is great, the site is quiet but you are near to the villages and towns if need be. We did a couple of trips to Scarborough and one to Filey. There are loads of areas to walk the dogs (welcome in the cottage but please keep them off the beds and furniture). I took Bosdog out every day on a 5 or 6 miler and shorter walks around the site too.
All in all a great week, for £500. We will be coming back.

We arrived at the site 28th June, this place is a little gem. We were given an option of pitches and were left to chose which suited us best. Ken is a true gent and is always pottering around doing some job or other. The views from the top of the site are out of this world. The only downside for us was the pub wasn't within walking distance as it's quite a way and we had our 5 year old with us, no major problem, a quick drive to the spar in the village and we were stocked up. Lovely walks with the dog, we saw lots of wildlife including deer and even found 2 four leafed clovers. The grass is amazing and despite several heavy downpours never flooded or got muddy, it also dried out in super quick time. We've been here 9 nights and go home in 2 and I have to say I'll be gutted to be leaving. Can't wait to return next year to this truly fantastic site.

I stayed for two nights at High Yedmandale farm. It is an ideal site if you want peace and quiet. The facilities are basic but adequate. The only downside is the tent field, which is rather undulating, so choose your pitch carefully. This site is not too far from the village of West Ayton and slightly further away, Scarborough. However once you have driven up the farm track to the site it feels like you are miles from anywhere. There are only two showers so I imagine at busy times there could be quite a queue. All in all for a quiet relaxing site you would struggle to find better in the area.

We decided to go to High Yedmandale on the strength of reviews on here. We weren't disappointed!
Ken (Owner) is an absolute Gent. We met him on his way out near the gate and he instructed us on where to pitch and not worry about paying until the next day when he is on his rounds.
We got a lovely spot on the larger family field, right next to the EHU and tap. The pitch was fairly flat and this being our first ever camping trip, was a godsend.
Price per night was £21 with EHU.
As mentioned on other reviews, the showers and toileting facilities are fairly basic but clean. One of the showers is a bit of a pain to keep hot but I only had to queue for 5 minutes on one occasion in our 4 night stay. The toilets were very clean and there was always loo roll.
However the toilet block is in a converted barn and is divided by wooden partitions from the washing/drying area. This may be a privacy issue for some people.
The location of the site is perfect though. Far enough away from roads and the outside world to be lovely and private, near enough for shopping for basics at the excellent Spar. Scarborough is 10 minutes away and we visited Whitby, Filey, Flamborough and Bridlington during our visit.
All in all a lovely site to visit. As first time campers, we got the lot. Lovely weather, a great site, good pitch, good neighbours and a lovely host.
The only problem we have is, How do we do it better next time?
We will be going again!

Just had a lovely weekend here.
We had a hard standing pitch, plenty of room and open views of the wolds.
Toilets and showers are rustic but clean. There is also a fridge, freezer, plug socket, tumble dryer for the benefit of campers.
Surrounded by fields and forests the location is brilliant for dog walks.
A 1. 7mile single road to the camp but Kenneth uses a walkie talkie system to guide you out and make sure there are no oncoming caravans.
Fish and chips at Crossgates near Byland pub were fabulous. Also had good Black Sheep beer at Ye olde Forge at West Ayton. Spar is very good at West Ayton.
A lovely relaxing campsite and we shall return.
