Just returned from a 7 day stay from high Yedmandale farm. It was that good we stayed for 1 more night. We would have done longer but had to come home. Looking to go back at the end of aug if we can.
Well what can I say about high Yedmandale, well to tell you there is lots to say, here is just some of the things.
Ken was always friendly & helpful. He never ask for the fee's just pay before you go. Must say we paid on the 2nd day.
The grounds where well maintained, with lots of space for the kids to play.
They have two shower room's with toilets and washbasins in them.
In the wet room they have two more toilets, 2 washbasins. A sink to wash your pots, and a dryer for your clothes. All FREE.
I have never been to a campsite where you get all that free.
Some had to queue for the shower, but so what we have to that at home sometimes, lol. I must say I did not find this a prob, just went back later.
My two kids Jade & Liam loved it. Made some good friend on the site. Hi Chloe, Katie & Charlie. I know your dad comes on here. LOL
They loved Boris the horse & the hedgehog that went for a walk a round the campsite ever day.
We tuck the dog too, and she loved it.
Scarbourough was fantastic too. Lots to do for the kids, and most places let the dog into, which was good for we had her all the time with us.
If you get a clear night like we did, just look at all the stars I have never seen so many.

We have just had a great camping experience here. The camping field was spaciously laid out with no over crowding. It was peaceful and well away from traffic and pollution. The owners were very relaxed and friendly, making rounds of the camp site to check that everyone was happy, in fact we stayed an extra two nights as we enjoyed it so much. The facilities were good although we did have to queue at busy times for the showers, therefore more may be useful. We would recommend it as we would go again ourselves. Even though dogs are permitted, they were not a problem. The camping area was lawn like and very comfortable. There were plenty of electric hook ups and fresh water taps around the site. On our last night we had several terrific storms which, although were loud, did not affect us in anyway with flooding due to the design of the field. We ate from a great fish and chip shop in West Ayton which doesn't fry on a Monday or Tuesday as we found out rather hungrily, but there is another great one about 3 miles towards Scarborough called Silks at Crossgates. Enjoy!

A great week spent at this site. Facilities good, location very peaceful and quiet, within easy reach of all nearby attractions. Just 4 miles from Scarborough.
Only detraction to us was the unruly behaviour of other campers children during our last two days, such a shame as this is such a lovely site.

Agree with other reviewers, very friendly laid back site no list of rules handed out upon arrival ! Great countryside and well placed for surrounding area.
Very reasonably priced, you can book but no deposit required and they are fine if you have to cancel as long as you have the courtesy to let them know. Website is brilliant with loadsa info. The lane is quite long to the site and one couple told me it took them 45mins to walk to the village.
My only let down is the lack of facilities - the showers just cannot cope with the demand, I queued for what seemed an eternity ! The loos also had queues (but this was a very hot weekend in July !). I'd return if only more showers were built I'm afraid - which is disappointing as it's such a lovely site.

This is a great little site what it doesn't have in facilities it makes up in location and friendliness. It is located up above the village of East Ayton about 5 miles west of Scarborough and overlooks the surrounding countryside. This not a huge site but this adds to the friendly feel of the site. It only has a couple of showers for the whole site and an two additional toilets (in addition to those in each shower). They are however clean and well maintained no doubt in the near future the number will increase. The site is in a great location and ideal if you are wanting to visit nearby Scarborough, North Yorkshire Moors as well as Flamingland, Eden Camp or the North Yorkshire Steam Railway which visits Heatbeat Country to name a few. Great if you like walking as there are forest walks as well as those on the nearby moors. The Village of East Ayton nearby also offers a variety of good home cook food in the nearby Pubs as well as Fish and Chips but if you want a BBQ and its a nce warm evening I can't think of any where better. Open campfires are however a no no. Understandable bearing in mind its forest location. This is a very family friendly site and can't wait to return,

We were first time campers and chose this site as it got great reviews. I have to say we were not disappointed and found this to be a very enjoyable first experience.
The site itself is absolutely beautiful, rural and quiet (no noisy parties) with plenty of space between pitches. Ken was really friendly and helpful and we often saw him wandering around the site chatting to people.
The only things we would comment on are that there is only one sink. In busy periods when the site is full there can be long queues to wash up. Another couple of sinks would make a huge difference. There are only two showers and although these are really clean (as the toilets are), there are long queues for these too.
There is a really useful list of places to eat, places to walk and general information in the dry room which we found really useful (very thoughtful I thought).
We can highly recommend the local fish and chip shop (a 5 minute drive from the site) where the fish is really fresh and the chips gorgeous. The portions are huge too!
All in all our experience was fantastic and we will most definitely be doing it again soon.

Just returned from a 3 day break.
I can highly recommend this pleasant and peaceful site. Owners very welcoming. My children had a fantastic time playing in the woods on the makeshift swing. The owner let us use his barbeque as we forgot ours!
Showers and toilets were spotless.
We will be returning soon.

We have just returned from a long weekend stay at High Yedmandale .It is still as friendly and peaceful as is was a couple of years ago If you look back at the reviews ours was the 3rd one.
Still going and enjoying every moment,
Been some changes but for the better. 2 new toilets have been added to the side of the showers,
Now there are two shower cubicles with toilets and the 2 toilets with washbasins also a dryer and a sink for washing your plates,
There are information booklets of the area in the drying room as it is known,
East Ayton has a fantastic fish shop. Also can recomend the food at the Denton Arms pub.
If you go into Scarbourough I can recomend the Kitchen Cafe.
30 Blands Cliff
Scarbourough,
We had a fantastic meal there and the owner was realy friendly,
Was a bit concerned at first as we have been going to the same cafe for a number of years, and when we went this time it had changed and we had friends with us ,
I had just been telling then how good the food was so you can imajine when we walked in and I realized It had changed.
But not to be let down it was lovely and plentyfull,If you go tell them you saw it in the u.K. Campsite I did ask him if I could give him a mention,Also if you see us a high yedmandale come and say hello

This campsite was fantastic, facilities were excellent and very clean, no waiting for loo's or washing up area. Well maintained grounds and our kids loved the chickens and horse. Owners very helpful and nothing was 2 much trouble at all. Pitches were well spaced out and we were able to choose our own pitch and settle down (no nattering for fee's on arrival). This is a dog friendly campsite and no poo was left for other to step in which is a bonus. The local pub pulls a good pint as well. We will visit again. RECCOMMENDED TO ALL HAPPY CAMPERS HI-DE-HI.:o)

Just got back from here after a terrific 8 night stay.
Could not ask for a better site & more friendlier & helpful owners.
The facilities are kept spotless & we never had to queue for showers or toilets.
Lovely walks in the woods surrounding the camp site.
All in all, a lovely peacefull site & well worth a visit.
Only problem we had was the gale force winds 2nd day into our holiday
