What a brilliant site. It is immaculately maintained, has fantastic views over the River Dart and stacks of space. The shower blocks and loos are kep spotlessly clean and are perfectly adequate.
The pitches are a good size and unlike other sites, you won't find stacks of vans piled in. The views of the river are great and the site and scenery is green and plush. The whole site is very clean and has a great feel.
There is a nice kids play area that you can easily see from where the families are put (but bot too close!) and because the site isn't over-filled, we didn't find it was full of screaming unruly kids.
The customer service is great - the wardens Mike and Peter are a couple of great guys who are really helpful and always friendly -they are a real asset to the site. We have probably stayed on a dozen sites over the last 2 years and I would have to say this has to be the best one.

We had a glorious fortnight at this campsite in the first few weeks of August 2010. It really is a gem - a friendly family run site with a view to die for! It was our first visit but we'll definitely be back again.
The site overlooks the River Dart and has a stunning view. We were asked for the size of our camper when we booked as the owners say they're very careful to choose the best pitch for each person, and make sure everyone gets a good view.
It's a quiet site with no bar or entertainment (bliss!). There's a nice play area for the kids including a galleon play area, small boat, swings and a slide. The toilet block is large and very clean. There's a washing up and laundry area which helpfully has an ordnance survey map on the wall. We didn't need to use the optional Under 5's bathroom, but it seems like an excellent idea.
The owners were very friendly and helpful. It's a family owned site and I think we met the whole family while we were there! We had a problem with our awning but the owner and his son helped us get it sorted quickly. Both pairs of wardens were brilliant.
The site is very well situated - there's so much to do in Torbay and it's so easy to reach from the campsite. There are regular buses from the main road which meant we didn't have to move the camper all the time. The pubs in the village did good food and the village shop and butcher was very well stocked.
All in all a lovely holiday - we'll definitely be back again and will recommend it to our friends. Can't wait to go back again.

My first proper camping holiday one my own with 2 young children. I spent a long time choosing this site using the reviews on here, and I was certainly not disappointed.
Campsite well maintained and the toilet block was immaculate. The wardens on the site were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Agree with the other reviews about the peace and tranquillity on th site. All was quiet (and stayed quiet!) all through the night.
My pitch was perfect and as I opted for EHU it was very spacious. Some of the non EHU pitches seemed a little crowded in, but as it was summer holiday times then I guess this is to be expected.
The location was excellent and I would highly recommend both Paignton Zoo and the Round Robin. Both not cheap for a family, but such a great day out.
Overall a wonderful first camping experience.

We are just back from a very relaxed week of camping at this site.
The site is 10 minutes walk from the pub, which does excellent food and beer but fills up very quickly; and village shops which were well stocked and open 'til 7pm. Sainsbury's is a 15-20 minute drive but only 2 1/2 miles away. Road traffic can be a nightmare during high season around Torbay.
Showers, toilets, washing area, laundry; all spotless and well maintained. The grounds were always kept clean and very quiet after 9-10pm. There are 2 playgrounds; the main one by the wardens and caravans had slides, climbing frames, boats and swings while the small one in the camping field was great for younger kids to meet and chat.
There was enough space for softball cricket and football but it does mean that pitch sizes were tighter than we normally expect; not much space left over for outside sitting once the tent was up and the car was parked.
We can't fault the owners, wardens and maintenance staff; they do a great job of running a clean, safe and secure site. They have a good basic shop but encourage you to use the village businesses. They are a useful source of local information from ferry prices to zoo discounts and doctors.
We can't fault the location with everything you would need for a day out within 10 miles of the site. It's worth taking the ferry to Dartmouth and day trips to Paingnton Zoo / Coastal Life Centre are well worth doing. Good beaches around the bay as well as great crabbing in Stoke Gabriel. The South Hams have lovely walks and the landscape and wildlife is beautiful.
This is a lovely site that we will happily recommend to anyone and we are sure to return again.

What a great site! Friendly and efficient staff immaculate site and facilities. One of the first things I noticed was that the grass is kept short and they collect it during cutting, meaning that you don't get wet feet and soggy trousers in long grass or tramp much grass into the tent!
The views are lovely and the allocated pitches are fairly level(in an almost 'paddy field' fashion) considering the site as a whole is on quite a steep slope down towards the estuary. We also found the trees and wild hedgerows provided quite a lot of shelter from the wind.
The toilet/shower block is cleaned thoroughly every lunchtime and there's a decent hairdrier in the ladies, so I didn't have to spend the week looking like a scarecrow.
There's about 8 shower cubicles (free water- very hot), 2 wash cabins and lots of toilets.
The washing-up facilities were great too- immaculately clean with plenty of sinks, hot water and drainers.
There are 3 clothes washing machines and I had no trouble accessing one to do a quick wash (£2)and the machine was large enough to include a sleeping bag. Two 50p's in the drier dried everything perfectly in an hour.
And I don't think I have stayed at a quieter site. Apart from the owls the send us to sleep and a woodpigeon dawn chorus, it was really peaceful.
We would visit this site again if we get the chance!

On entering the park after booking in, what a lovely vista! Our pitch had a great view of the river! Mike and Peter the Wardens made us most welcome, and always had a smile on thier faces!
Being Disabled, I hired a key for the disabled toilet and shower, which was always clean with plenty of hot water, my husband used the gents showers, and said these were the same. Apart from two days of strong winds (which our awning survived)! the weather was fab! We even hired a beach hut at Broadsands Beach for the day!(which was a good price!) and went on the Round Robin Trip, starting at Churston Steam Train Station, just up the road! A Grand day out!
The Park was lovely and clean, and we'd definitely return !

This site is fantastic. What a gem to visit the toilet blocks are spotless and the views are breathtaking. When we arrived we where escorted to the pitch and the warden gave us a hand to set up, we forgot the waste pipe for the super pitch and the warden without a second thought went to fetch us one.
The staff are very friendly and helpful they are a credit to the site. Bus stop about 15 min walk, great pub just up the road. I have yet to visit a better site, we will always stay here when we are in Devon. We love the place.

Just got back from a wonderful five night break at this site. We loved it and thought it one of the best we've been to. The views were just as good as others have said, and the facilities were very good.
In the ladies there were plenty of toilets and washbasins, five showers, two washbasins within cubicles and a baby unit which had a baby bath and potty. We never had to queue. There was also a free hairdryer! Am told the gents had plenty of loos and showers too and there was also no need to queue. To be fair though, the site was not full.
In addition to four sinks for washing up, there is also a washing machine, dryer and iron if you need them.
The play area looked good, and there is also a table tennis table (bats and balls available to buy for £3.50).
The shop is small, but very well stocked for the size. There is also a tourist information room with lots of leaflets and ideas. If you want ice packs, they only rent theirs out for 30p each (they will freeze yours for 30p each, but only on your last night).
There is a large Sainsbury's 10 mins drive away.
We had amazing weather and had so much choice of things to do. We also did not have to get the car out every time we wanted to do something which we loved.
We walked to Brixham (took about 1hr 40 mins) and got the bus back (£2.00 and it drops you off about 15 mins from the site). We passed a farm shop about 25 mins walk from the site but unfortunately never quite got there before it closed at 5pm! It looked a good one though.
Greenway, (Agatha Christie's home and now owned by the NT) is a 35-40 min walk from the site - this was a lovely easy walk and a beautiful place to visit. The gardens are amazing and so if you don't fancy buying lunch there (which was good) it's a great place to take a picnic.
Just a note about the walking times - we're in our 20s and 30s, but we did have a baby in a back-carrier and kept stopping to admire the views! The walking times I think would be pretty fair for most people.
Totnes, Dartmouth and Blackpool Sands are all within easy reach and lovely places to visit.
It's a great place to stay and we have already decided we'd like to return!

When we first arrived and we checked ourselves in the staff was friendly, the facilities were splendid, the toilet blocks were very clean the cleaners that did the toilet's were marvellously clean. The sights were amazing to look at.
But there are a few problems: the dog walk could be a little more bigger also it could be splendid if dogs could come all seasons not just for a short time. Also there could be a closer toilet block towards the caravanning area so it is not as far to walk.
The surrounding areas were lovely, lovely views and walks. To conclude with this review I would like to say that mike and peter were a pleasure to meet, they are very good wardens. We enjoyed our time, views and people

Cracking little site, first class. Wonderful quiet location with a lovely view across the river. Our first time with a tent and it could not of gone better, great facilities and nice clean flat pitches. Staff were great and keep the site looking neat and tidy.We met some terrific people
Camping opp us and we will certainly be returning.
The local area was terrific too with a great little pub down in the village with a good menu.
Brixam was great for families, very picturesque and loads of places to grab a bite to eat, sit down or take away. Easy to park and grab a net and go crabbing or join the little boats to Torquay or paignton. Overall a terrific 4 days away.
