This is a great site with beautiful view out into the river Dart, it is also nice to wake up to the sound of wildlife as well as the local steam train too. The staff are always very helpful and the ground are Very Well Kept as well as the children's play area, and the toilet block is spotless always clean regularly checked and the hot water is actually hot too. There is many things you can do if you want and all within short walks from the site as it has a good public transport network so you don't need to rely on your cars. I would fully recommend this site to all and looking forward to booking my next trip here.

We have just returned from this lovely site. We had a service pitch, which was great. Admittedly it's quite a hilly site and this particular pitch may not be good for elderly people needing to get to the shower block. We never experienced nosey neighbours and I wouldn't say you were any closer than any other site. The facilities were always clean and well maintained. The wardens were friendly and willing to help out if advise needed. We caught a bus to Brixham which cost us £8 we then discovered a little park and ride just down the road from the bus stop. That was £6 return which for 3 of us was good. These buses run every 10 minutes.
Piccolo the pizza man comes on a Wednesday and the pizza is made to order. These were lovely and just big enough for us.
Rest assured we will be coming back to this site.

We had an amazing time at this site. The location is absolutely stunning with beautiful views over the river Dart. The team at the site could not be more helpful, we wanted to extend our visit by a few days and they juggled their pitch plan to make sure we could, they have great advice about the local area and were generally very welcoming. Quite a few pitches are sloping - ours was - but it's not a problem as there are plenty of wedges around. It means everyone has a great view and each pitch feels more private. We have 2 small children and felt the site was very safe. Our 18mth old loved the play area! If you enjoy walking, cycling etc you can pitch up and just leave the car at the site. There are so many things to do nearby that don't involve driving - walk to Green ways, walk the Dart Valley Trail, take the ferry to Dittisham and have an amazing lunch in the Anchorstone cafe, get the steam train from Greenways Halt (it's a request stop and pressing the button to get the train to stop is great fun), get the ferry to Dartmouth. I could go on. The only minor negative I can think of is that the on site shop doesn't open until 9 - a nightmare if you've run out of milk ! But as long as you know this you can make sure you're organised the night before.

We thought this was one, if not, the nicest campsites we had ever stayed on in the UK as the view is outstanding, sloping hills down to the river Dart, very picturesque from almost every pitch. The staff were friendly and helpful and the toilet block clean. What more could you want. Minor niggle -the elson was not in a very convenient location for motorhomers. Great location for local trips to Dartmouth and Brixham. Would definitely recommend it.

This site is in a quiet village a short drive from the town centre and seafront. The surrounding areas are beautiful. We found the staff very accommodating, they managed to fit us in at the very last minute. The facilities were clean and the whole site was well kept. I would certainly recommend this camp site. My only gripe is the no ball games rule, but there is a kids play area that more than made up for it. Anyone who's looking for a relaxing place to stay with or without children, look no further you've found it.

Back from a two week stay at Galmpton - camping with electric hook up (2 adults + 2 children). Our pitch was on a slight hill but was easily managed.
The campsite is very well run and maintained and the views over the River Dart are exceptional - will miss waking up to those views every morning! There is lots of space for the children to run around and play (also a fenced adventure play area with badminton net and table tennis erected nearby).
A small site shop with essentials.
Clean shower/toilet block - numerous units so unlikely to need to queue.
£10 deposit for security barrier card required on arrival.
The staff are lovely, cheery and very helpful.
Galmpton Touring Park is an excellent central location to tour South Devon - a short drive to Paignton, Torquay, Brixham. We also visited Becky Falls, Kents Caverns, Haldon Forrest, Totnes market, Fossil Hunting at the Jurassic Coast (Lyme Regis), Crabbing at Dartmouth + Stoke Gabriel, Steam Train to Kingswear and passenger ferry to Dartmouth.
An excellent holiday and hope to return.

If you enjoy excellent views and a well kept site it's the place for you.
If you like privacy on a full service pitch it's NOT the place for you.
Full service pitches are steeped on gravel roads which run right up to and out side the vans pitch.
I have no problem being friendly but object to having to keep the blinds down to stop being nosed at 1st thing.
The service pitches are on full gravel were the awning 'has to be pitched. The office tried to say it's because of the red soil! Has south Devon ever had different soil!
So if you suffer any kind of walking difficulty be aware
The car van and awning all have to go on the gravel with a small grass patch between you and the next pitch.
However inconsiderate people claim they have pitched to far over and park there car on others grass. Not on there own!
This happened to us and a number of other pitches while we stayed here.
The wardens although friendly and helpful seam reluctant/scared of approaching the culprits.
There is one toilet block which is a the top of the park which is cleaned each day. There are amble bins for rubbish but the recycling is only at one location.
There is no good lighting at night on site
Beautiful views and a well kept site, but sadly not the site for us.

This was our 2nd visit to this lovely site. We can't think of any negatives about it. The site is well managed by friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff, they make time for everyone, but aren't intrusive and give a cheery 'hello' no matter how busy they are! They live on the site so there is no noise at night. The facilities are good and clean. Our kids are grown up so we didn't use the playarea, but we were tempted; the kids looked like they were having fun! It's the location of the site is really sets it apart. The views from all pitches range from good to stunning. The best one of all is from the toilet block so everyone gets this one! The site is close to public transport links. (15 minute walk to the main bus route and the steam railway) Key resorts are close by but you wouldn't know when you are on site. It has an 'away from it all' feel. It is a hilly area, which wasn't a problem for us, indeed it's what makes it so pretty. We definitely recommend the site and will return :):)

Just returned from a 4 night stay. A lovely site with spectacular views across the River Dart and surrounding countryside. Friendly and helpful staff. Local village pub Manor Inn serves great food. The walk to Brixham is a must. Greenway House and grounds are spectacular. We were hoping the shower block would have been updated since our last visit 2 years ago, but it wasn't. However, this didn't spoil our stay.
