Fantastic views, handy for walking and lovely places to visit round about.
Ground staff always pleasant and helpful.
Good sized pitches.
However, for the price, the showers and toilets aren’t up to scratch. They’re cold, dreary and dated.
Nor is there a proper motorhome service point. If you need to run off your grey water or fill up with clean, you have to do so over a drain and block the entrance and exit roads.
Recycling siting doesn’t encourage use.

Lovely site with very clean facilities. Dave and Julie were very nice and very accommodating.
Will definitely return.
Had a slight issue with a caravan owner claiming his territory (pathetic really)
But all in all enjoyed our stay.
Good walks nearby and the manor inn 5 minute walk was excellent.
Brixham 3miles from site.

Showers and toilets are basic but very very clean.
Staff were very friendly.
Two goods pubs just a short walk away.

Really beautiful setting overlooking the river dart. Weather had been rainy before and on arrival, pitch was very muddy as a result. We were on hard standing pitch which was good considering the weather, but gravel standing wasn't well kept, with weeds coming through area. Grass next to gravel pitch was not usable given the heavy rain so we could use this for the two nights stay.
Toilet and shower blocks were ok, I've seen much better, and quite cold and dreary day in the top left hand corner of the site.
Dog walk/exercise area could have been better. Only 100sq meter patch of grass, but better than nothing.

Stunning views of the Dart Valley from the site and from most pitches, but we were allocated a pitch with no views and when instructed we could not have the van facing the river, had to reverse it onto a very poor hard standing sloping pitch which was totally unsuitable for twin axle caravan.
That was not a good start, but having set up with many blocks to level the van, it was even more annoying after walking around the site to find there were many other vacant pitches that were far more suitable with river facing views and were not occupied the entire 7 nights.
Four motor homes that came on after had similar treatment, with adjacent pitches to ours and were made to reverse onto the pitch with no views.
What could have been a 5star site and experience with a little more investment in making the hardstanding pitches more level and by giving choice of pitches to tourers was ruined.
We would not be using this site again.

Loved the site and the managers were really friendly and helpful.
The view from the site is incredible and the site is so well kept.
Would definitely return as it was one of the better sites we visited.

Excellent site for good walks, great bus routes. Good place to explore Dartmouth, Torquay and surrounding areas. Good ferry, bus and on foot routes.
Not quite sure why no toilet/shower block, shop of information point/ leaflets. We have stayed at numerous sites since the recent opening all of which have at least offered toilet/ shower block and information point.
Went to Brixham local town where there is a Tourist information point but this too was very poor. So if your going here do your research before you go

We've stayed here many times over the last few years, and have enjoyed it.
However as another reviewer (Flashdan) states it's time for a makeover and needs some money spent on it.
The showers are dated and need modernising. They look old and very utilitarian, old brown tiles, flimsy cheap shower curtains, and the block was damp, cold and smelly (maybe a blocked drain?) - for their charges (top dollar) a bit more luxury and decent quality fittings! Everything is an 'extra'
The hard standings need re-laying as they have lots of weeds and not a lot of shingle left.
You do (if you're lucky), have great river views, but obviously the view from a lot of pitches is obscured by tree's etc, but I guess the site can't do much about this.
The wardens work hard to keep the site clean and tidy, they are also helpful and friendly.
Think I'll give the site a miss, til it's been updated, and the facilities match their prices.
Although they usually give the generic reply that they are comparable with other sites in the area. Perhaps they need to go and have a look round these comparable sites.

One of our favourite areas to visit is the River Dart and the Galmpton touring park is a good base from which you can visit the area. The site is just outside the village of Galmpton and is accessed via a narrow lane but we didn’t encounter any difficulties getting to site.
Access to site is restricted by a security barrier close to reception. Reception staff are very friendly and helpful as are the wardens. Reception has a small shop.
Pitches are on a terraced hillside, some with hard standings and some on grass. If you choose the right pitch there are lovely views back up the river and with a little luck you might get to enjoy a stunning sunset that can be had from here weather permitting.
We found the shower block to be clean at all times with plenty of hot water albeit from push button controls. Toilets and privacy rooms are available in this building. Some of the pitches can a little way from the toilet block.
The local village is a 10 minute walk away and has a small shop and pub. There is also a bus service available from here. Galmpton creek is just a short walk away and well worth visiting. If you get to speak to a local denizen there is some interesting WWII history to be had.
If you are a NT member then Greenway house is not too far away and if you walk you will pass over the steam railway line and station. The gardens overlook the river and the boathouse is at the river’s edge. Just on from here is passenger ferry, £2 per person, one way, which goes across the river to Dittisham.
A small village with pub and waterside properties. If you walk to the top of the village there are some great views of the river.
Further afield are Brixham and Berry Head, there is a nice café here.
Pitches can be a little on the expensive side especially in the high season but they occasional have a promotion and prices are more affordable.
EE mobile phone signal strong. Wi-Fi available.
