We stayed here on the August Bank Holiday weekend for 3 nights with 3 other Families. We were placed in what I suspected was a bit of an overflow field as this was the only way the owners could accommodate our request to be placed together. It did look like the field would be quite damp if it rained and this proved to be the case. Getting out of the field was quite tricky with all the mud.

We were given one trailing lead and a 3 way splitter for our electric hook up. The problem with this was we were unable to run 3 heaters at once. Now all three tents had children in them and the Saturday and Sunday night were unseasonably cold and to my mind it was not acceptable to pay for a serviced pitch but not have the full use of electric.

The site is in a lovely situation with stunning views. The Bins needed emptying before the start of the weekend as by Sunday they were overflowing. The Elsan disposal point is just a big above ground tank which you have to open up and pour in and did not have wash out facilities.

Showers were excellent, clean, plenty of hot water and underfloor heating, the washing up facilities, although there were only 3 bowls were never really busy. The WC's were frankly atrocious, no hot water to wash your hands with and nothing to dry your hands either. Not acceptable on a site that gets quite busy.

Owners are nice people who are keen to help. The campfires were great.

Second visit to this site. The showers are now great, loads of hot water, but there could be a couple more sinks for just a wash/tooth brushing. Having said that I only queued once for about 5 mins.

The owner is helpful and a really nice guy. The site is well place just outside of Keswick and within 10 minutes drive of Whinlatter Forest. The shop is stocked with basics and the bacon is excellent.

Very good site for children of all ages, they can play in the stream and loved toasting marshmallows over the camp fire. The pub in Braithwaite does a nice line in steak and chips.

I moved across from Northumberland to this site to stay for 5 nights

Again this site is is in a stunning location with Skiddaw as a front view and Lord's Seat as a backdrop I even saw 2 Osprey flying over the site

As to the site itself the showers were all new this season apparently although I think the toilets were a work in progress The little shop sells all your basic needs and more the owners couldn't have been more pleasant even with their own children and a farm to look after nothing was too difficult As this is a working farm there are chickens and sheep wandering about the site

We were 'invaded' by a large group of campers who set up in a little area just behind the farm which meant everybody in the upper tier had to cut across their pitches to get to the facilities I know some people don't like this and with a little more planning could have been avoided

What can one say about a camp-site situated in the Lake District stunning vistas every where you looked

There is a pub within walking distance in the village of Braithwaite they do meals although I didn't try them The meals looked well presented and looked good value for money

Keswick is a bit too touristy for my tastes but I did enjoy eating out there

Walking Cycling Driving around this area you can't fail to find something to do and if you are walking don't forget to keep turning around as you can sometimes miss some of those stunning views

Will I be returning to this site.Hopefully next year

My boyfriend (21) and I (22) visited this site for 2nights (wed 11th - Thurs 12th August). We called the site before leaving and were told there was plenty of room for us, when we got there, true to their word, there were plenty of pitches for us to choose from.

We booked in at the site office/shop and paid our money up front (£8.50 per adult per night - we thought this was slightly expensive, but as you cant get a hotel this cheap we weren't too fussed!) we were then given advice on where the showers / toilets / water etc were and advised to find ourselves a pitch, leaving room for other tents and cars to pass up.

We pulled up on the main site and (stupidly) re-used a pitch as it was flat and there was no ash from previous fires etc. (advice - don't re-use a pitch, it seemed to get muddier than others as it hadnt dried out from the previous user!)

Our stay there was fab, we were a bit put off by the 'quiet by 10pm' sign, but this wasn't too bad as long as we kept it down!

We got ourselves a wheel inner on our 2nd night and bought the logs £5.50 per bag and some marshmallow and skewers (£1.20) and had a fab time sitting around the fire

The showers were always hot and we never had to wait for 1, nor did we ever have to wait for a toilet, although I can imagine this being a problem if it was busier. (1 mens toilet, 2 ladies, 3 showers, 1 sink for getting washed and 3 washing up sinks).

The only time the site owner couldn't help us was when we needed some more butane gas for our stove and there shop didn't sell this (although he did give us directions to the next campsite dwn the road which did sell this )

All in all our stay was lovely and relaxing. Would definitely recommend, but if you want more of a 'party' atmosphere I wouldn't advise staying here as it is a family/walking orientated site.

We absolutely loved the site. We arrived just before the bank holiday weekend. There was plenty of room. Found Gareth and Helen very helpful and friendly.

The site is a working farm so there were chickens running around. There was always hot water for washing up and showers, we never had to queue up for the toilets or showers. The first couple of days we had rain but after brilliant sunshine.

Keswick isn't far away in a car and have loads of shops, supermarket etc. Whinlatter isn't far away in a car and is ok if you want walks or bike rides.

The view from the site are to die for and we can't wait to go back.

Wonderful location, really friendly owners. Free hot showers and washing up facilities. Toilet blocks are basic but well maintained. Camp shop is great for general provisions open till 9pm.

Village of Braithwaite is only 10 mins walk away, with 2 nice pubs and a hotel. Local village shop is excellent! Selling freshly baked bread, pizza's, locally sourced meat, and also does hot roast chicken and roast spuds to order! Campfire really made the holiday.

Derwent water is an hour away on foot, where you can pick up a ferry to Keswick.

This site is great, lovely friendly helpful owners. Great location with lovely walks into Keswick and surrounding areas. Close to mountain biking forest altho drive there as me and hubby went by bike and it is all up hill 2/3 miles however if you are healthier than I do it as is a lot of fun coming downhill on way back!

Great facilities all central and clean and a lovely little shop selling most stuff you need as well as bbq packs of local meat! We had electric hook up in the main field, the meadow field is also lovely and homed some vw campers when we were there.

Lovely site definitely give it a try you wont regret it.

We are 4 adults with 2 dogs. We have just returned from Lanefoot and had a really great weekend. Lanefoot has fantastic views. There are lovely walks just off site. Billy the horse and the chickens were great. The kids on the park seemed to be having a good time with the animals and plenty of room to run around.

We hired a wheel and a sack of logs with kindling for £5.50, which gave us two cosy nights by an open fire - the icing on the cake for us. The owners are friendly, helpful and easy to locate. The on site shop is handy for all your basics and is open until 9pm.

Nice clean, hot showers. Good facilities for washing up.The site is about 5 mins drive from Keswick. There is a nice friendly pub/hotel 10 mins walk away.

We had a problem with a noisy group on our first night. The owner was quick to resolve this when we informed him. We will definitely go back.

This site is an ideal base for exploring Keswick and the surrounding areas. There are loads of walks from the site and Keswick and Whinlatter are both within 10 mins drive away. There are a few pubs within walking distance the 2 we went to were both dog friendly.

On site we were in the meadow field, which after a wander round site looked the best place to be.Closer to the toilets and seemed a much quieter spot.Though the pitch we were given was very uneven and sloping which made lying in bed interesting! Also the wandering chickens made for an interesting time with a dog who hates them.We found a squirt of water got rid of them pretty quickly!

The site itself is lovely, the toilets and showers were always clean though there really aren't enough of them, never had to wait for the loo but queuing for a shower everyday was a bit tedious. We camped a few days before the start of school hols so the site was not full but could imagine having to wait for everything if it was.

The best thing about the site for me was the camp fires, at £5.50 they are a great way to spend the evening, just add marshmallows and hot chocolate!

We would definitely camp here again, as the site is really nice, but definitely not in the school holidays.

Lanefoot farm is a lovely campsite, very clean and with beautiful views.

The campfires and roaming ducks and chickens makes it even more enjoyable!

The only small downfall that I could see was there wasn't enough toilets for the amount of campers using the site.

The site is in a good location with good links to keswick and other towns, there are lovely walks around the area and a few pubs in walking distance

This is a lovely site we are hoping to go back in august
