Visited for two nights found a lovely clean and very welcoming site. It was our first outing in our new caravan. Owners were welcoming and helped us park (my first time reversing a 25ft caravan). Grass was like a mowed front lawn, new shower block and other facilities were immaculate and heated as well.Showers were free and a hair dryer in the ladies pure luxury.
Only down side was we were near the main road so there was quite a bit of road noise not too bad over other side of the site, but it was worth putting up with would definitely return.

Just came back from a two night stay, as first time campers we wanted some where local. Greeted by the owners at reception when we booked in, then shown to the camping field. The pitches were great, nice short grass which looks like it gets cut on a regular basis.
We could not fault any of the facilities, the showers, toilets and the washing up area were spotless and were clean no matter what time of the day you used them. The shrewsbury arms pub is only a three minuets walk from the site and do great meals. Winsford town centre is only 10 minuets drive for all your other shopping.
The dog walking area is a great idea.
The staff work really hard to keep the site looking as it is and this is a credit to them.
The only downfall we experienced was the traffic during the night, but as this is the main a54 chester to winsford road the noise is to be expected.
Would we visit the site again. This is a great big yes.

Booked at last minute for a one night stay with my young daughter. Lovely site - very well maintained with excellent facilities. New amenity block with heating a fantastic addition - no more cold feet getting out of the shower! Separate cubicle with sink for private washing.
Large camping field with lots of space for children and grown ups alike to play in the centre. Only a few EHU for tents though.
Gem of a site - owners/staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Owl garden a big hit with my daughter - a visit each time she needed the loo!
Minor point - no playground but lots of space to play ball games etc.
Others have said about road noise - yes there is some if you pitch along the hedge on the left as you enter the camping field so head to the right hand side if you want a quieter night.
Very handy for local attractions and at £12.50 a night - a bit of a bargain!
Will be going back next year with the rest of the family!

Spent the weekend at this site with friends, all in tents. Nice quiet site with lots of space for the kids to run around and play. Facilities were excellent and very clean, the kids especially liked the owls. Lots to do around the area but we only visited Delamere Forest as we were there such a short time. Winsford town centre about a five minute drive away for supplies, has a large supermarket in the centre.
All round very good for our break, chose the site as it was dog friendly and not too far fro home.

Just visited this site for the first time. My daughter and I just fancied a couple of days away and she hadn't been in the caravan before. We were met by very friendly staff who showed us where all the amenities were and if we had any problems we could go straight to them which was reassuring since my daughter is 14 and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to manage setting up on my own. Were shown onto pitch which had plenty of room.
Site was quiet (thursday) by friday it was full. Road noise was an issue but it seemed to quieten down at night so didn't seem to deter sleep. Lovely hot showers, loos. Washing facilities all immaculately clean and despite being busy never had to queue. Ate one night at the shrewsbury arms. Friendly staff and great food.
Grounds well maintained always someone doing something to keep it looking good. Small garden area with owl enclosures which again was kept immaculate. Nice place to just sit and be. Definitely go back again.Morning paper a nice touch

Lovely site with exceptional toilet and washing facilities.
We visited twice in 2 weeks for the weekend we loved it so much!
My children loved the owls and the horses in the field next door.
Very friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere.
Central to lots of things to do - a must do is a visit to the icecream farm (but take a sat nav as its difficult to find!)
The only downside which has been mentioned before is the closeness of the road which does get annoying and even seems to get worse at night as it is the main road in to winsford - so lots of lorries all through the night.I believe also a small play area for the children would be a good addition.Other than the road one of the nicest campsites I've been to in years (and I've been to many!)

This site is fantastic - well maintained camping field that is mown on daily basis whilst we were there. The toilets and showers are of an excellent standard - we certainly made full use of the facilities and never felt cold after using them. There is a small but well stocked shop on site and they also offer a newspaper service for your stay - all the essential items are available at the shop. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. For other shopping needs the local town of Winsford is just a short drive away approx 10 mins. The local cafe at the shopping centre is also to be recommended (The Humble Pie) excellent food at excellent prices. Plenty of attractions within an hours drive away. The site also has a small garden area complete with owls and chipmonks. This site also has bed and breakfast facilities available. We took our two children age 7 and 15 aswell as Grandma 67. The site also has laundry and kitchen wash up facilities. We will most definitely be going back to Elm Cottage and give this site 10/10 for all amenities.

Visited Elm Cottage for a weekend break - we fancied something fairly local for getting away to after work.
Upon arrival at the site, we were greeted to a very friendly welcome and given plenty of local advice. One thing I'd never been offered before was a newspaper for the morning, although I didn’t take them up on the offer it was a nice touch.
We found a nice area to pitch that had just been freshly mowed that was nice and flat. Although reasonably close to the road, it quietened down in the evenings and didn’t have any trouble sleeping.
A small shop in the reception that sells the essentials at very reasonable prices and a gardened area round the back of the toilet block has some owls.
The toilets, showers and washing up facilities were spotless and couldn’t fault them. Hot showers and even heated floors (this was a big hit with the misses).
After a recommendation by the people in the reception, we paid a visit to the local pub, Shrewsbury Arms, for an evening meal. The food was great and plenty of it, really good value for money.
Plenty of things to do in the local area and a huge array of leaflets/brochures in the reception.
Will be returning to the site soon I hope!

We've used this site several times as it's near to the in-laws. There is no children's play area, but there the negative comments stop! The staff are great - very friendly and helpful, and the facilities are superb. The showers are hot and free, the loos are spotless, and they are close to the tent field. The noise from the road wasn't all that intrusive, and certainly didn't keep my two year old or four year old awake. The shop stocks basic essentials (as well as some lovely locally made preserves), and some good value toys for the kids. If you need a more extensive shop, Asda in Winsford is a ten minute drive.
A great site for exploring the area, which has loads of days out nearby. Chester Zoo, Lyme Park and Jodrell Bank are particular favourites.
Oh, It's cheap as chips, too. Excellent value for money.

After staying in the area the previous weekend, we decided to go back the following weekend but to a different site, we found Elm Cottage.
Elm Cottage is a lovely site, we had a lovely time, plenty of room to pitch and the wardens / owners were lovely and helpful.
The facilities were spotless and everything we needed, the showers were free and hot, the dish washing areas were clean and sheltered and free hot water again.
We ordered a daily newspaper on check in and every morning it was there for us to collect at the mini shop/office. A very nice touch.
There isn't many electric hook ups for tents, could do with more, and it hasn't a park for the children but they are allowed to play on the camping field, so that isn't a problem.
The town center of Winsford is only 5 mile away and there is a pub within walking distance, we didn't go this time but will next time.
For £12.50 a night I thought it was well worth it, we are hoping to go back in a few weeks time, ideal location for visiting the lovely surrounding areas.
