Chose this site from the web, needed to be handy for friends in Manchester and be on the road back to the Holyhead Ferry. We were on a 'Grand Tour' of friends and relatives over 3 weeks staying at 8 different sites. Elm Cottage was by far the best site for facilities we enjoy, having two golden retrievers we found the on site extensive dog walk fantastic. The touring site is separate from the seasonal pitches with super pitches available. The site was superbly maintained and very clean. Good wifi albeit expensive at £5 per day. Owners have had the site for 3 years and their hard work can be seen everywhere, they inherited an aviary of owls (mostly eagle owls) visitors are welcome to view them. Close to Oulton Park motor circuit. Delighted we found it and will be sure to return.

We visited during the May Bank Holiday and our party consisted of 3 touring caravans and one tent with elec hook-up, and we were able to all be pitched together.
Jackie, James and all the staff were very friendly, relaxed and keen to ensure that our visit was an enjoyable one, which it most certainly was. From the warm reception, the delicious handmade pizza cooked to order on-site as well as an equally tasty bacon butty the next morning, and the Saturday evening entertainment with thai curry, I couldn't fault the unexpected extras this site had to offer.
The facilities were basic and clean and although there were only 3 showers available (3 women, 3 gents) for the site, I didn't experience any queues despite the site being full.
During our visit, there was a Superbike event at Oulton Park. The bikes were audible but not unpleasant.
Our party will definitely be returning to this lovely site.
P. S. Check out the Owls!

Nice site but unfortunately the pitch we had chosen had a huge tree directly above it (pitch21), the weather that weekend was awful with high winds and heavy rain and the looming tree made for a nervous night. The bathroom was lovely and clean and tidy but I hated the fact that the showers were cubicles and the neighbouring water flowed into yours. The owners where away when we arrived but their parents were there to welcome us and they were lovely. Would not hesitate to visit here again.

Convenient site for visiting Oulton Park. Not far from Winsford. Shower block ok. Site seems geared up for rallies. Staff friendly. Not far to Shrewsbury Arms a traditional local pub for meals Dog walk on site. However pitches are bumpy in places some are ok. However A54 is very busy and the road is noisy. Quieter during the night. We enjoyed our stay but thought the pitch prices were quite steep compared to other sites.

Just back from a 1-nighter at Elm Cottage. Lovely clean site off main A54 to Chester. Not disturbed by traffic, even though it is a busy road. Good dog walk along 2 sides of the site. The owner provided a map to get to the Egerton Arms using mainly footpaths and bridleways (30 mins approx). Still had to use the narrow pavement of the A54 for 5 minutes, which was pretty hair-raising. Pub well worth it. (Child and dog friendly. Fantastic Sunday lunch - not the cheapest, but definitely one of the best. ) The camping/rally field was closed for the winter and just the marked out serviced pitches were in use. Facilities warm and clean, with free showers and hairdryer. Good weekend, all in all. (Called at Middlewich - Kings Lock - for wonderful fish and chips en route - shame about roadworks on M6 which made the journey a little longer than expected)

This was our first visit under new family ownership and we received a very warm welcome on our arrival. The site was immaculately kept and the shower/toilet block was spotlessly clean. We were also please to see the Owl Collection was still there being looked after by the new owners.
A newly finished traditional wood burning pizza oven offering freshly baked home made pizzas was fired up in the early evening and proved very popular.
There is pub grub available within half a mile approx. And a further selection of pub restaurants within a 5 min. Drive.
The new team are all very friendly and keen to help visitors.
This site is a must for anyone visiting the area to explore the local attractions. We will be staying again without fail.

A very, clean touring site as others have commented previously so will only add a few things not mentioned. Besides the local pub down the road Shrewsbury Arms which does food and a couple of Robinsons real ales, the Egerton Arms, Little Budworth is worth seeking out, we walked there in about 20 mins however there is no pavement along the lane so care has to be taken, this GBG listed pub is quite quirky, has several real ales and has a nice menu. There was only about a 10 min wait for food here as opposed to an hour wait at the Shrewsbury Arms. For those with good navigational skills the Egerton can be reached via bridleway/public footpaths from the site. Paid £27/night for an all weather pitch which I thought was a bit high but I noticed they do a mid-week offer there. Didn't here any road noise.

Came here for 10 days we have never been here before the site is fantastic nice and clean lots of space for your van and all flat with hard stand pitches the site is nice and central for all the things you want to do shopping at Chester or even a trip to the zoo also a trip to Liverpool all these places within a half hour away and dead easy to get to there is a town about 10 minuets away for all the things you need also a pub that's only 5 mins and that's walking there are a couple more but they are a good 30 mins not recommend with kids roads a bit hard with the cars no foot path the toilets and shower blocks are nice and clean the water points and cleaning points are spot on to you will not be disappointed here the only disappointing bit is we have to go home and we came from Newcastle upon Tyne well done to the owners the site is brill hope to se you next year
