Couple with dog. We stopped at Elm Cottage for a long weekend just because it wasn't too far away from Oulton Park (where we were going to watch the British Superbike Championship). We were pleasantly surprised to find that it was such a nice site and we really enjoyed our stay there. The owners were very helpful and pleasant and the site was peaceful and well maintained. The newspaper ordering service was great. We were in the center area on elec hook up and had plenty of room for our caravan, car and windbreaks etc. The washing-up facilities were good and the showers were hot and free. Some of the facilities are a bit dated but they are perfectly serviceable so no problems there. The site was well laid out and I would have liked to be there when all the flower displays were in bloom. There is a huge tent/rally field adjacent to the main site area. The dog walking area is pretty good too as it borders the main rally field and is therefore a good walk round. The pub down the road is a typical country pub with a nice beer garden where we sat out with the dog. It serves Stella which was a bonus but they didn't serve food until the time advertised on the board in the evening so I didn't get a night off from caravan cooking as planned. The walk along a narrow footpath to get to the pub is a bit hairy as the road is a fast one - so don't have too many Stella's! I would definitely recommend the site to family and friends and wouldn't hesitate to stop there again.

We have stayed at this site a couple of times now. We think it is a very good with friendly and helpful owners (the two Chris's). We always stay on hard-standing as we tend to go later in year. Pitches have plenty of room for van and car. The area where we park is level. There is a small shop on site with basics and you can order you paper for the morning. There is a pub which serves food down the road a little is ok but nothing to jump up and down about. Facilities are very clean and the site is well cared for. Would recommend this site highly.

Went with a large family group . 4 tents (20 people) for 3 nights , plenty of space for the kids to play football/cricket etc, reasonably short grass and nice clean toilet/shower block. Really enjoyed our stay here and will use the site again.

Quite often return to this site, it is quite local to us and so is good for long weekends etc. I love it. There is not much on the site except owls. But it is just a lovely site, it is so well looked after and the owner is very nice too. Very cheep but then it is basic. If you are in the area it is worth a stay. I don't quite know what it is that I like about it so much, but you just have a feel that everything around your is nice, the grass is kept green, there is flowers all year round etc. The only down side is it runs along an A road, but it is quite at night.

Just got back from our first visit to the site and really enjoyed our break. The site will suit those looking for a quite time and is not the 'noisy club house' type. There are only two toilets and one shower for each sex (Plus a unisex shower) which doubtless will lead to delays at peak periods but we didn't encounter any issues during our stay. The site is spotlessly clean and maintained to a very high level and the staff were very helpful and friendly. It will be our pleasure to visit again and I would encourage anyone looking to stay in mid-Cheshire to do the same.

I only stayed for one night, but it was a very pleasant stay! The site is well looked after, very clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and helpful. I camped on the big field near the road, some vehicles were a little noisy but I didn't find it too intrusive and it certainly didn't keep me awake! It's a big field so there is an opportunity to pitch further from the road. Showers and toilets were very clean. All you could want in a quiet campsite is here, I recommend it!

Well kept and clean site staff pleasant and helpful. Toilet block and washing facilities kept very clean. If had to have one moan it would be that the camping field is very close to the main road which is busy day and night and can be a little noisy so be careful when choosing where to pitch your tent, worth a weekend visit

June 2004 I visited this site with my wife, daughter and grandson, The site was mainly level with some slightly sloping parts , the grass was kept well mown and the whole site was very clean and tidy. not anything to do on site but relax ( perfect ) the toilet and washing facilities were kept clean at all times but when the park is full maybe there would be a need to be patiant, we found loads to do in the surrounding area, a holiday we all enjoyed and intend to repeat this year.

2 -4 June 2004 The site was well looked after and the two Chris's were very helpful, they have a large field for most use but it has limited electric's on that but the main site has 25-30 hook up points, BUT there is only one toliet block, but it has a disabled toliet... there is a barn that has some activitie's inside but they do not use this to their best. In my view it would be useful to aquire a licence for a small shop? But the best thing about this site is that eveyone we came across were very friendly. Alan,Julie & the RUG RATS
