What a wonderful site, first time here, from the lake you'd never guess it was there, secluded in amongst the trees.
Well done to the wardens for keeping it so lovely, toilets and shower blocks spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water.
Can pick your own pitch.
Lovely safe footpath walk/bike ride across fields in to Coniston Village, took about 20 mins.
The Black Bull pub lovely food and great home brewed beer, friendly staff.
Great for bird watching, lovely wood walks.
Found Ruskin's museum very interesting and the history of Donald Campbell.
Park Coppice have got it just right, we will be back.

What a lovely camp site, friendly staff, the way the plots are set out is good, if you wanted you could have your own private spot. I loved the forest that was all around us. What a lovely village cCniston is. Had 2 nice meals in the village, price I thought was good, and people friendly. We went visiting around the area, and what lovely scenery etc. The amazing thing was the sheep roaming every where. The mountains are spectacular, I have never been to such a lovely place. The lakes well nothing like it. It was lovely to hearthe owls, and see the rabbits running about. On the camp, we thought the toilets and showers nice and clean. We stayed 6 hights, we will be back . It was worth the 5 hours travelling, scenery breathtaking, and will definitely be back to this caravan park.

What a fantastic site, a short walk to the shores of Lake Coniston, and your surrounded by beautiful scenery. The camp site itself is up to the usual CC standards. Toilet blocks with plenty of hot water, ect. We had a very good choice of pitch because we were very lucky to arrive the same day as most people left. Excellent dog walking country. Kids playing area good for children under 6 years. Only stayed one night, but could easily stayed longer. Definitely go again.

Just spent 3 nights at Park Coppice and can't wait to go back. This is a gorgeous site and immaculately maintained. Found the staff very friendly and helpful even though we aren't CC members. Even though it is a huge site, the layout makes you feel like you're quite secluded in the trees. £17.50 per night for 2 adults, 2 kids, a dog and electric which is a lot cheaper than some sites I've been on with only half the facilities. Great little shop and the chippy van is on site a couple of nights a week.
The kids had a great time - 3 or 4 playparks dotted about and plenty of little wooded hills to play on and build dens in. There's also a lovely little stroll through the campsite and across a field down to the lake.
Nearby is Coniston which had a couple of nice (but very expensive!) pubs and a few shops. Hawkshead is about 4 miles further on and Ambleside another 5. Took the kids to Grizedale which was fantastic with a huge playpark for the kids who aren't quite old enough for Go Ape.
Thankfully we read the previous reviews and took plenty of rock pegs - you definitely need them as the ground is basically compressed gravel with a few blades of grass poking through. We didn't need the windbreak as it is so sheltered which is a good thing as I don't think I could've coped with hammering more pegs in.
Top tips for staying on this site is:
1. Take plenty of rock pegs and a heavy duty hammer.
2. Take lots of insect repellant as the midges are brutal.
3. If you're a light sleeper take some earplugs as the nearby cows are the loudest I've ever heard - but if you do you will miss out on the owls at night and the dawn chorus.

Great location in a beautiful part of the Lakes BUT PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE STAYING HERE IN A TENT.
The tent area is very pretty, surrounded by trees with it's own mini adventure playground for children BUT it is entirely on rocky ground (we bent 3 rock pegs trying to pitch), the pitches are small (we were lucky we were the only tent there and could keep moving until we managed to get all the pegs in) and as 'tenters' on a caravan club site were made to feel rather second rate. Despite booking well in advance we were told on arrival that the toilet block nearest the tent area was closed due to the site being quiet but 'we could get in our car and drive to the next nearest block' a 10 minute walk away - not ideal when you have a recently toilet trained toddler with you. When we muttered complaints we were offered a choice of 2 caravan pitches near the toilet block as long as we were 'hidden away and discrete' as caravanners 'don't like tents on their sites'. Both pitches offered were hard standing and sloping so totally unsuitable for a tent.
The facilities were however very clean, showers hot (though slightly dated) and a small childrens playground was fine. Beautiful flat walk from the site into Coniston and back along the lake. Great pubs in Coniston and plenty to do nearby - Beatrix Potter, National Trust etc.
Would definitely return if we ever buy a caravan.
Sorry, didn't find the site wardens friendly or helpful at all - made us feel like we were doing them a favour being there. My advice would be - don't accept tents or if you do, treat them with the same respect as you do the caravanners.

Massive site : close to 300 pitches - the way the site is laid out in little groves in the woods, you can only ever see about 10-15 vans so it never seems crowded. - usual CC facilities (excellent and clean), and 3 toilet blocks with different closing times meant you were never caught short ! Small complaint about the showers - the cubicles were very 'compact' - lots of space wasted in the blocks meant there could have been room to swing a cat if the design had been a bit different but they were clean & hot so I cant complain too much !
Site in a brilliant location on the shores of the lake, and a gentle 20-30 minute stroll into Comiston over a footpath & then the road to the village.
One thing I did notice which is a comment for the other campers and not a complaint against the site, a gathering of youths (about age 14-16) of a night outside the toilet blocks (well illuminted) drinking cider and genterally being a bit boisterous. Surely if the kids are on holiday with family, they should be supervised and not left to gather in packs, drinking cider ! I havent come across this behaviour before on any CC site and was rather dispoointed with it -
Small complaints apart, thisis a brilliant site - the on site shop is really well stocked and there is a chip van on site 3 nights a week (wish I had known that !)
We will be coming back

We stayed for 3 nights over Easter. The first night we lay awake wondering if our awning was going to disappear due to the very high winds. Luckily the camp shop sold very good rock pegs at a good price so we were still intact in the morning!
The next three days we had fantastic weather. We visited Coniston village, only a short distance away, Ambleside and Keswick. Only a short stroll through the site takes you down to the edge of Lake Coniston.
The site is well run and the Wardens friendly and helpful. We arrived just as the heavens opened and it would have been better to have the available plots highlighted on the site plan as we had to drive round the whole site to see what was available. For the size of the site it didn't feel busy at all. The pitches are sited on varying levels and surrounded by trees, making a pretty, well designed layout.
The toilet blocks were clean but rather cramped and need updating. It was a bit of a pain only having 1 key between 4 people for the toilet blocks.
Overall we had a peaceful relaxing break, an ideal base for visiting the Lakes. We will be going back.

This is an excellent site, in a great location with very good facilities. The site owners were helful and accommodating and allowed me to take my pick of pitches. The site is interestingly landscaped, with hardstandings set at different places throughout this wooded site. Facilities were plentiful and spotlessly clean at all times. Coniston is one mile away, along the road or by the lake, and offers several pubs, a bank and a few shops. Walks are in abundnace here, with the Old Man a straightforward walk from either the campsite or the village. Will definitely return.

Stayed at this site during the Whitsun holiday 2007. Big mistake! Site packed and pitches small. We came back one day to find neighbour on next pitch about 18 inches away from us. We have been caravan club members for years and this is the worst site we have stayed on, very expensive and pitches flood in rain, which is often in the lakes. Children playing football and cricket close to vans, will not be returning. There are far nicer sites and CL's in the Lakes than Park Coppice.

My family visited this site last weekend, it is a beautiful site located in a woodland area 1 mile south of Coniston village, next door to Coniston Hall campsite (which I used to visit very regularly as a younger 'tenter'). We arrived late on Friday night and found it a little difficult to pitch up as the lighting is quite poor - but I guess you don't really want a floodlit campsite in the middle of the lake district! The location is ideal, a little walk down to the lakeside through the site, and a footpath into Coniston village where you can take a ride on the 'Gondala' steam boat which gives you great views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Toilet blocks were very clean and 2 play areas, not that we needed them as the children loved their woodland walks. We will definitely be coming back here again.
