5 star CC site, this site is so good with 280 pitches that feels like only 20!
So much to do in the area we could have done with 2 weeks!
A chip van calls at the site every Fri & sat between 6 & 8pm.
The only down side if you have to have it is there is no internet on some areas, but who needs that when away anyway??.
Tv points at each hook up point.
3 shower blocks all spotless, I would recommend to anyone.

We have visited this site several times and it never fails to delight. The location is superb and certainly on this visit we hardly used the car and cycled to the lake every day. The weather was glorious and perfect for lazy days swimming in lake and taking a boat trip. We stayed for the week and enjoyed every moment. The site and facilities are excellent and clean. My little boy enjoyed the park, which we pitched next to and spent all his time either there or riding his bike around the site. The fish and chip van is a welcome visitor. Coniston itself is lovely and it is in a great location for visiting other areas of the lake district. I would highly recommend this site and will have no hesitation in visiting again.

Well placed site. Easy to walk or cycle into Coniston. Good pitch sizes. Toilet blocks have been refurbished within the last few years. Despite the size of the site there are plenty of toilets and showers for everyone and all spotless. Well placed for hiking and cycling, near to the lake. Well placed for those who like to sail. Plenty of eateries within Coniston, the fish van that calls at the site is a little expensive but handy if you don't want to cook.
Would recommend this site.

We have visited many Club sites but this must be one of the best! Easy to find with a beautiful drive and once booked in found that the whole site is amazing! Little clearings in the trees with groups of vans, even some individual pitches for people who want that extra piece and quiet. Short walk down to the lake and as to be expected on a Club site the facilities are spotless and well maintained! Only down side is that this site is a five hour drive from where we live! Coniston is a few minutes drive away with great cafes, pubs and shops we will return!

Booked the campsite online as a last minute weekend away. Site was easy to find on the shores of lake Coniston. There was plenty of parking at reception and booking in took 5 minutes. Then drove round the site until we found a pitch we liked. Then informed reception who issued us with a toilet and barrier key. The pitches were nearly level but we did need a few blocks. The toilets and showers are first class as we're the staff. There is a small shop on site but Coniston is only 5 minutes away and has a few small supermarkets. There was a fish and chip van on Friday and Saturday nights near reception of you don't fancy cooking. Plenty for the outdoor types in the area and my kids loved the park and spent most of there time on the bikes or at the lake. Can't wait to go back.

We stayed at Coniston Park Coppice for a long weekend in May this year, and despite the slightly damp (ok wet !) weather, had a really enjoyable stay.
This site is described as a Caravan Club 5 star site, and we found no reason to question that. The site is close to the shore of lake Coniston, and Coniston village itself, and provides an excellent range of walking, boating, and exploring opportunities. The domestic facilities on site are the usual high standard CC affair, with heated, modern blocks, kept spotlessly clean by a very dedicated and numerous bunch of enthusiasts.
The location within the forest, close to Coniston provide the high star rating, and although it is a large site by number of pitches (280) the layout of the pitches in small groups in clearings across the forest, guarantee that it never feels crowded.
Despite being in a forest the access roads are all of tarmac or gravel, and present easy access to all areas of the site. The pitches themselves are gravel and generally of a good size, are discretely marked, and are a mix of level ground right through to some challenging inclines ! All have electric hook-ups and tv points (we didn't try this out), and in common with all CC sites the water and waste points are never more than a few metres away.
There are adequate play areas for children, and a fish and chip van calls on Fridays. There is a pub signposted as within walking distance of the site, but there are also plenty of good pubs and restaurants in Coniston and the immediate area.
The access to the site needs a mention, as the last 2-3 miles is along a narrow and winding road, where passing traffic in the opposite direction requires some caution, but nothing more than that.
Overall, in our experience a well-run site, with excellent and spotlessly clean facilities, in a beautiful setting.

Our unit was a folding camper. Still snow around the toilet blocks but rest of camp was clear. First time here and was very impressed. Very friendly welcome. We were asked to find our own pitch and let them know. We were given a map to help us but the site is on a slope with toilet/shower blocks at top and bottom. As we ended up in the middle there was an incline either way and this didn't suit my replaced joints. The site was being cleaned continuously and the shower/toilet blocks were spotless. Didn't need to use the food prep area but had a peak in and that looked good as well. We have a dog and there was a lovely walk through the bottom of the site along lake Coniston. My OH thought he'd lost his camera in Coniston and didn't see the found poster on the door when he returned the keys! It had been picked up on site and handed in. When we rang the next day they went the extra mile to return it by guaranteed next day delivery. Definitely will visit again, especially as I now know the layout and will opt for the top and also as we have upgraded to a tourer with our own toilet :} Can recommend this site

Our visit to this site was over the Easter break and our first visit to a Club site. As previously mentioned the last 10 miles to the site are on small roads but take it slow and all is good. One of the best kept sites we have stayed on. Great arrivals area with plenty of room if you turn up at busy times. You are left to choose a pitch then report back to the reception when you are settled. The site is large and is on a hill but this adds to its beauty. We drove round the site and chose our spot roughly in the middle which was perfect distance from play areas and washrooms for us. Pitches are of good size and on gravel not a problem to get the van level. The shower block was exceptional never any dirt on floor and showers spotless. No push buttons and they are lovely and hot. Perfect location for walking. Harrys pasta restaurant in coniston was great food and great value. Only thing we didn't like was that you need a key to enter the toilet block key regularly forgotten on the way or left by the sink after washing hands. Will return again

Decided to stay on this site for a one week tour of the Lake District, and to be honest there's quite a few to choose from.
I'm glad I chose Park Coppice because the standards are very high and it certainly wins on location, presentation and cleanliness.
The site itself is very pretty and the pitches vary from being in the open to others being situated in wooded glades.
I chose a pitch situated near the bottom of the site, in a gladed area to be close to the lake but you are free to choose your pitch on arrival.
As stated previously the shower blocks were immaculate and the site was maintained very well with friendly helpful staff.
Coniston village is close and is what you'd expect a Cumbrian Village to be, quaint with a mountain called ''old man'' as a back drop and also Donald Campell's grave is worth seeing.
I would recommend this site to anyone visiting the Lake District.

Just had a week at Park Coppice. We went in term time so the site was very quiet. Yes it's big but being in a wooded area it does not seem too large. Some reviewers have commented on how hilly the site is, the walk from top to bottom and back up is for the most part a gentle(ish) slope, no more than that. A real mix of pitches ensures something for everyone. So long as you are aware of the suns route many of the pitches get a healthy dose of sunshine for a good part of the day.
The shower / loo's are better than 5 star, I would imagine that even when busy the sheer number of facilities would cope easily. They are kept in absolute immaculate condition. I had cause to visit one day just prior to cleaning and actually thought they had already been done.
The wardens are all friendly and helpful, there if you need them but not intrusive. One van near to us tripped their electrics, within 5 minutes man with van was there to sort it for them.
Coniston is lovely. Three dog friendly pubs. Ate at Bulls Head and Sun Inn, recommend food at both. Pleasant easy level walk to village by well maintained hard track along lakeside. Easy to navigate even in dark (with half decent torch). We timed it van to pub 35 mins.
For dog strolls first thing in morning go down towards lake there are two gates about 20 yards apart, go through first one and turn right, the walk is lovely into what appears to be a long deserted campsite / woodland area. For a lakeside walk go through second gate down to lake and turn right.
Approach from south isn't too bad, hundereds of vans make it every year !
10/10 for site, location and village.
