A beautiful site set in woodland and maintained to an excellent standard. The toilets, showers, washing up areas and laundry were all excellent and very clean. There are plenty of service areas with bins, drinking water, grey water disposal and chemical toilet disposal.
There is a shop on site and the reception staff were very helpful and friendly when we checked in. The site also has a couple of children's play areas which seemed to be popular. There is also a parent and toddler facility in the toilet block which I did not use but my friend was most impressed with.
The site is within easy walking distance of Coniston Water and Coniston Village is fairly close and we walked there a couple of times to shop in the supermarket and have a meal in the bistro. There are a few pubs and cafes in the village as well a
Small selection of shops
I would not hesitate to recommend this site and hope to return soon.

Great site, big site but doesn't feel big due to there being clusters of pitches spread throughout the woods, lots of excellent walks right from the site. Really friendly staff, always helpful. Excellent facilities as you would expect from a CC site. Was worried it might be a bit 'stuffy' being a CC site but was relaxed and friendly. The local bus service is very good and a day ticket enabling you to get on and off where you want to is excellent value. Highly recommended site

Stayed here for 10 nights in June. First time on this site and typical of all CC sites, the facilities are excellent. Electric barriers give a sense of security. Fully wooded site with no open grass areas which is always a shame with the usual problem that when it rains, you get the loud drips off the trees above. Also as with most CC sites, there are no views to choose from, just woodland. Site is not actually by the lake as you have to cross an adjacent campsite to reach the shore, but it is just a few minutes walk. Fish & chip van visits Tuesday and Friday. Fish & chips were £6 each so not expensive. As per CC advice, do not arrive before midday or leave after midday, as the roads from either direction could be a nightmare if caravans meet in opposite directions. There are some very narrow bends and pinch points. Overall, we would certainly use the site again, but there are some non-CC sites in the area with much nicer views if that is important to you.

Usual high quality facilities which you expect at a Caravan club site. Staff friendly and helpful. Very big site and a lot of the awning pitches aren't big enough to fit a caravan, awning and car on the pitch. Saw people who had to park their car infront of the caravan which is 'against the rules' but I guess the wardens can't really complain if the pitch isn't big enough. So as long as you don't mind having the car infront then it's not a problem.
Wifi is unbelievably slow. Got a phone signal on EE but not 3G.
Location is good, lots of nice walks in the area. But remember the roads round here are quite narrow and twisty so it takes twice as long to get anywhere than you'd expect! Little co-op in Coniston and the site shop sells a good selection of stuff and newspapers.

This a 5 star caravan & motorhome site situated about a mile out of the village of Coniston run by the Caravan Club. It has some 300 pitches amongst trees and is amply equipped with 3 very modern and extremely clean toilet and shower blocks. The pitches however, are not all level by any means so chocking is a must. They also take tents in a separate area. Whilst in the CC brochure it gives the impression that the site is on the lake itself- it is not. Access to the lake is really only for walkers and those wishing to carry their own canoes or very small boats. The site itself is pretty much self contained in that as well as the reception area; there is a small shop attached which sells basic groceries, milk and newspapers. We have stayed at Park Coppice a number of times over the years and have really enjoyed the setting and the superb facilities which is well run by the wardens in a fairly formal manner. However, there is a downside to Park Coppice and that is it can be VERY NOISY. Whilst the staff keep the facilities themselves immaculately clean, other ground staff insist on using petrol driven leaf blowers and a strimmers throughout the whole of the campsite every day. They even use these leaf blowers when it is very windy, so what the purpose of it all remains a mystery to us to this day. The result is that Park Coppice is spoilt not by the visiting campers but by the staff themselves using these noisy pieces of machinery of theirs. We have stayed there in every season of the year and the same thing happens each time- you can still hear the noise even with earplugs in your ears it is that bad. It's a shame really as otherwise it would be your Shangrila site apart from this problem.

Great woodland site with very pleasant well positioned individual pitches. A large site with three toilet blocks and if unlucky a bit of a walk. Great walk or cycle into Coniston and Ship inn not far away. Good for access to shore. Wardens helpful though initially busy and distant. Toilet blocks excellent. A great stay and will return.

Site very well laid out with pitches in groups of 3-4 in amongst the trees. However layout made a lake view impossible which was disappointing although nice walks down to lake. Access via recommended route is fine but moving around in big motorhome is not easy. Road to Ambleside is very narrow in places.
Staff very friendly and immediately sorted the electricity when tripped-no further issues for rest of week. Small shop and plenty of info about places to go.
Holker Hall was very interesting and beautiful gardens. Enjoyed Ullswater Boat trip and Ravensdale Train trip-available on a joint ticket.
Facilities clean and no queues although site was quiet.
Would definitely go again but would use as a base and walk/hire a car from there rather than drive a big motorhome.

This was the 3rd time we spent any length of time at Park Coppice, Coniston. The toilet and shower blocks are 1st class and worthy of the very best hotel for cleanliness and modernity. The staff are very friendly and mostly helpful and run a beautiful camp site which was not that busy during the 2 weeks we stayed. However, it has to be said that we found it rather noisy- not caused by fellow campers- rather the Caravan Club staff themselves who persisted in using extremely noisy leaf blowers most days we were there. They weren't picking the fallen leaves up; they were just blowing them from one side to the other even on windy days. It seemed to us to be a totally pointless exercise. The days we were there they would start at 9am and work through until gone 6pm so any chance of a quiet day on site in the van was ruined. We came for a rest but as a result we didn't get it. We did raise the problem at reception but they had obviously had this complaint before and they dismissed it out of hand as being more important to the Caravan Club Management than the welfare of the people staying there. The rest of the facilities on this site are superb with a children's play area and 3 toilet and shower blocks all with clothes drying facilities. There is also an area set aside for tenting which my son used when he came up to visit us on one weekend. The site itself is tiered and therefore on different levels and whilst some portions are quite level- others are not. You would need tire wedges on a lot of the pitches to level up your unit. A mobile chip shop visits on a Friday night and sometimes a Thursday as well. It is quite expensive though and the chips were not all that good either. Overall, we like the place a great deal but would prefer it more if they used a more efficient way of tidying the place up that didn't intrude into the peace and quiet that we so much wanted on our holiday and which we had paid so much a night for that privilege.

I am writing this whilst connected to the caravan club wifi.
This is without any doubt my favourite caravan club site in the uk.
It is very big but feels small and intimate. Every pitch feels private. The facilities are excellent, the location is handy for all of the lakes and the wardens are friendly and helpful but not over imposing like other cc sites.
The walk to the ship inn is nice in the evening as is the walk into Coniston.
I thoroughly recommend this site to anyone visiting the lakes as it has everything you need for a great stay.

This site needs to reset some rules when asking to park according to site policy on the plot we picked it was impossible as a tree was where the car supposed to park especially when given a diagram on where awning, caravan and car should be put on plot. When asked to pick a plot and set up then come and tell them we chose this plot because of its position and seemed protected from eliminates has it was level and dry when pitching up but a bad judgement on my part because when the rain did come it seemed to all end up in the awning and spent most of the day making a trench around the plot to drain it. When informed the site office what I done they just said it was my choice of plot and that I did not make the plot unusable for next users which I thought was harsh considering workmen was on site doing drainage work. Now that's out the way lets get to the good points showers/toilets very good. Reception and booking good all in all the park was ok but wasn't for us but the walk into coniston was good with some good eating places. I think if the weather had been better and had chosen more wisely this would have been a better review
