Just came back from a weekend stay at Hopleys. It was a great site with good facilities (a nice warm shower was nice after some cold nights!).
Camp fire was great and meant we could all sit round outside on a cold October night eating and drinking.
There was a lovely pub down the road which the owner recommended and Bewdley itself is a very nice town. You wouldn't think that you were anywhere near Kidderminster or Birmingham.
There are also some great walks in the forest which is very nearby (<5min drive to the visitor centre).
Would definitely recommend the site. Am sure I'll be back again in the future.

It was the first time that we stopped on the site it was very picturesque. The staff were very good and so helpful and gave us every help. There is a lovely cafe on site and everywhere was clean. We will be going back very soon. The toilet block and the play area and all the grounds were very clean and well kept. There are lots of places to visit in the area and loads of beautiful walks to do

Nice site and a warm welcome
Just come back from a weekend at Hopleys and we had a great time. Site would benefit from some additional toilets as there was only 2 Gents and 2 ladies for a big site, but they coped and they were clean.
Justin (owner) was very friendly and regular campers Nick, Jane and friends made us feel very welcome and are apparently there most weekends! See you again soon guys, great singing
Pitches are not marked out so there is plenty of space and loads of room for the kids to play. Fire pits for hire are great, wood is available at £4 a bag and lasts an evening.
You can stay on site until 1pm on the day of departure which makes life a little more leisurely when packing up and more generous than most sites.
Bewdley is a nice little town, less than 10 mins drive from the site. There is a great walk from Bewdley to Upper Arley along the river with a pub at the end (approx 4 miles) and you can catch the steam train back. Our 4 year old son loved it.
We will be back, thanks

Nice local site considering home is South Birmingham. It felt as though our party could have been any where in the country. The occasional sound from one of Severn Valley's steam trains added to the tranquillity of the location.
Our party of nine included a family who had never camped before. There was sufficient room to pitch up the tent, with the choice of spot being left up to ourselves. This we found a benefit. It gave the five kids in the group enough room to play without being ontop of anyone else. Indeed, they spent most of their time at 'Camp Kid', a little spot at the bottom of the field where a tree swing had been put up.
Hiring of a fire pit (£20 deposit, £2 to use) really added to the feel of the site. Wood can be purchased from reception(£4)We had a great time sitting round the fire at night, drinking copious amounts of alcohol, chatting and toasting marshmallows.
Security is tight as there seems to be a 24hr warden patrolling the site. Apparently the warden can be reached at anytime through the night by ringing the bell at reception. Give it a try !
The downside of Hopleys are the toilet facilities as mentioned by all other reviews. Yes there are only two toilets for the men, and two for the women. There is insufficient lighting within the ablutions, cold water from the hot tap constantly and small basins. There is inadequate ventilation so the gents toilets were always awash with unpleasant odours. We later found out that the caravanners were disposing of their toilet cassettes down the WCs in the mens which added to appalling smell. There was a drain provided to dispose of chemical waste, but this was ignored by some.!
Showers. There were two of; one for men one for women. Clean, well ventilated and good supply of hot water. They have been carcassed inside with wood so there is that sauna feel to them. Nice !
For those who wish for something different on their camping trip, two tee pees had been erected. Definitely something different to, overall, a very pleasant camping site if the toilet facilities could be modified.

This site is situated a mile from Bewdley and has some lovely views. The walk to Bewdley along the busy main road can be made much more pleasant by taking the right hand turn 100 metres from the camp site entrance. This takes you downhill to Bewdley via a very quiet residential road with many attractive cottages and older houses.
The 15 caravan pitches are on a level site some of which are located between flower beds and there is a fishing pool down the drive that has a number of pink and white water lilies (although the water surface was filmy at the time of our visit.
The roomy shower is new with a walk in shower cubicle and free hot water which is piping hot and has plenty of room for clothes etc.
There is a farm shop on site which has a good selection of fresh fruit and veg, cheeses, ice cream, cakes etc. There is also a café on site (we did not visit the café). It closes at 2pm on Sunday and 3pm on Weekdays.
During our weekend visit all caravan pitches were full and there were probably about half a dozen tents in the tent field. It was by no means full though as the tent field was very large. The facilities are in no way adequate even for the lower occupancy during our visit. There are only two showers, one for men and one for ladies and two toilets for men and two for ladies. There is one unisex/disabled toilet. The toilets were very dirty by mid afternoon and the toilet paper has run out. The shower was also muddy by the end of the day. The two wash hand basins in the toilets were tiny and there was no hot water so it was a cold wash if you weren’t having/queuing for the shower. There are two sinks in the washing up area one of which had no hot water and the other one had very low pressure.
It has been mentioned previously that it is a laid back site with no strict adherence to rules. This is correct – a dog was not leashed and deposited excrement outside our awning. This was cleared up after I contacted the site owner by phone. It was also very noisy – there were two large parties pitched next to us and no attempt was made to keep the noise down at night. At one point a television was on all afternoon and audible to all. The tents also comprised large groups and there was lots of shouting and singing going on.
If you want peace and quiet to enjoy the lovely views then I would suggest visiting mid week and definitely not in the school holidays.
Bewdley is a very attractive location to stay with the Severn Valley Railway and the Wyre Forest close by. There are many beautiful walks to choose from. The “Merchant Fish Bar” in Bewdley (Midlands Takeaway of the Year) has excellent fish and chips and Bewdley itself has a good deli, butchers, off license and numerous pubs and eating places. I would recommend “Peacocks” for an old fashioned afternoon tea served on china tea service with a good selection of homemade cakes.

This was our first time camping and we had a fantastic time, we stayed over the bank holiday weekend so it was very busy but it only added to our experience.
We had a few problems finding site, mainly due to badly written directions, but Mr Hopley was on hand via phone to help us, he then made sure we found the right spot and throughout our stay checked if we were okay. The kids said it was their best weekend ever!
The showers were very busy but then it was bank hol weekend, campfire was enjoyed by all, logs and fire pit supplied by campsite at reasonable price.
The local town is small, but a lovely fish and chip shop can be found by the river.

Stayed at this site for the weekend. Campsite owner really helpful, had a choice of pitches and able to hire out a fire bucket and wood which was lovely. As other reviews have stated, there are only 2 ladies and 2 male toilets and 2 showers which we didn't feel was adequate considering the amount of people on the site. Really great location - Bewdley a lovely place to visit, especially the museum which is free. Great fish and chip shop in the town too. The only thing that put us off this site was the noise levels after 11pm. I appreciate this has nothing to do with the site. Perhaps we were just unlucky to have inconsiderate people staying there, shouting and swearing at the top of their voices well into the early morning. There seemed to be a lot of people driving cars around the site late into the evening as well. All in all, I would say great site, think the noise put us off

Went to this site as part of a caravan rally. The owner was very helpful but the field was not the best for caravans being rather uneven in all directions where the electrical hookups were. Saying this if hookups were not required then a level flat area would have been available. The site was very full with people pitching where they wanted to. Toilets and showers not sufficient for the number of units on site. Never the less we enjoyed our weekend but would go back on the main site in future not on the rally field. There was a lovely pub just down the road The Hop Pole excellent food.

Very tidy site. About 1.1 mile from Bewdley town but some big hills on the way so not easily walkable.
The camping area is all on a sloping to various degrees. There is no pitch markings which is good but there is very few areas that are level enough to be comfortable. The site does feel very open to the elements but has some very nice views.
The play area is vary small and my daughter and the friends she made there were not overly impressed with it.
The shop on site was well priced and carries a good range of goods.
Toilets on the site are clean and tidy but there is only 2 ladies and 2 mens, an additional few portaloos have been put in the feild but they are right in the middle so most people didn't want to use them as to open.
One massive plus point on the place is the family toilet, As a dad taking my very young daughter it is useful to have this facility.

This was our first time camping and we chose this site to be our first encounter. Although the boiler had broken so there was no hot water from taps it didn't dampen our spirits. The shop was very well stocked, wood fires to hire on a night were great. Site staff were lovely, just needed more toilets. Play ground was great for our 9 and 7 yr olds. Showers were hot and roomy.
