Lots going on at Hopley's. We stayed one night to visit friends in Bewdley. Good walk into town, down hill, for chips sitting by the river very pretty. 2 kids couldn't manage walk back up the hill, so got a taxi which only cost £4. Site was very busy, pitches close together.
We were near main toilets which were clean and working, but heard complaints about the camping field facilities.
Good views, good atmosphere-except for neighbours having their radio far too loud during the day!
Bewdley steam railway is one of the best of its type, beautifully preserved station and friendly staff.

We have just returned from another lovely weekend at Hopleys. This is fast becoming one of our favourite campsites for a short break.
The site was full but they squeezed us on when I phoned the day before we wanted to stay which was lovely; we got a hard standing pitch that backed onto the grass so we got the best of both worlds. There were lots of other kids there and we could relax as the kids all played together and the parents and owners did not mind a bit of noise.
We visited the new bar / pizza shack which only opened in July and opens on weekend evenings and bank holidays. The pizzas are made from scratch and taste yummy. You can get a family meal deal of four fresh pizzas for £15 which is pretty good. You can see everything made and cooked in the clay oven. We loved this as did our three year old!
They have local real ale from Bewdley Brewery, lager and cider and wine at the bar and prices are reasonable. We were going to stroll down the hill to the local pub but once we discovered the new bar on site, we stayed put! The owner, Justin, is lovely too and we sat and had a chat as the sun went down. You can hire fire pits and wood for a campfire if you want to - £9 plus £20 returnable deposit.
Although the site was busy I didn't have to wait long for a shower in the morning and not at all when showering the kids later at night (around 9. 30pm). This time I used the ones by the cafe as the cubicles are large enough for three small people easily. They work well enough but could do with a spruce up. Nice and warm though and free.
The farm shop is even better with a large range of items for your every need and lovely fresh food and veggies, plus newspapers. They also have beers and wines and fresh bread. There is a lovely patio area at the back of the shop where you can sit and enjoy a drink in the sun - idyllic!
We didn't use the cafe but it was packed and the prices look good - breakfasts start at £3.
The kids were happy with the playground and the hills and wooded areas where they made dens with other children and got generally dirty!
We spent Saturday afternoon walking into Bewdley (a mile downhill) and the kids did crafts at the museum which was all free - that place is worth a visit on its own!
We can't wait until our next trip there later this year :).

Just back from a weekend visit to this site, this was our first visit to this site and we would definitely go again. Not a perfect site by no means but for the money its well adequate. We were on a non electric tent pitch at the very bottom of the site which was quite a climb up to the main facilities. The worst part of this area of the site was the toilet facilities not to be to blunt but they were dirty and uncleaned during our stay, no toilet paper and after the flush was used the whole toilets and outside fresh water tap were starved of water until the cistern was full, so a long wait to be able to wash your hands. Also in this area there are no waste water disposal points no showers and no rubbish points. And one more thing the lights in the toilets are on a sensor so they come on when you enter, fine if you are using the urinals or sink but if you are in the cubicle the lights go out after about 1 min and leave you in total darkness, not good.
Bad points over, the electric hook up pitches are flat and nicely arranged also close to the main toilet blocks which are clean and more than adequate, (its well worth paying extra £3 per night for one of these pitches even if you don't intend using the electric)
The shop is well stocked and is reasonably priced also the weekend evening pizza hut is a good idea and handy to get a drink and a snack (pizzas cost £5 a go so not cheep), the local brew thy sell at the pizza hut is I think draft but unfortunately everything else is tins at £2 a go. There is a local pub about 10 mins walk towards Bewdley but its all uphill coming back, also a pub in the opposite direction and right at the island, its around a 15 mins walk.
The site has a superb cafe which offers a good breakfast to eat in or take away for £3. 50, well worth it it also does a selection of other meals through out the day all at good prices
The site is well placed for visiting local places with Bewdley being the closest at around a mile, nice little town but parking is a complete nightmare, once you do find a place to park its very cheep at only £3. 80 all day or £1. 20 for 2 hrs.
In conclusion, a very enjoyable weekend away, and yes we would go back to this site again now we know what to go for and what to avoid. All the people running this site were very friendly indeed and made us very welcome.

A very lively and friendly campsite.
Welcoming owners.
Farm shop on site selling local produce only 5 mins drive to West Midlands Safari Park and few minutes down the road to the historic town of Bewdley which has more than its fair share of pubs and eateries! I recommend Merchants Chip shop along river front just before you go over bridge,
They allow firepits! yeahhhh! and hire them out for only £9 and that includes logs and kindling!
This site can get busy and on sunny weekends like the one we went it was busy. Lively family groups all round but the atmosphere was fantastic, occasional live bands see website for info.
We were on a non EHU pitch so we were allowed to pitch anywhere! there are 2 unisex showers in the old shower block and 2 a piece in the newer block even on the busy weekend it was relatively tidy the usual grassy bits but that's to be expected, on busy weekends they also have thunderboxes and portable cabin type units to help with the extra bottoms on loo seats.
It was only £14 a night no EHU and £17 with EHU nowadays that's an absolute bargain!
Its not a place where I'd go for a a holiday but for a weekend with friends or exploring the area like we were its ace!
We will return for sure

Had a recent night stop at this site.
We found Hopleys to be an excellent site, The price was very reasonable for the pitch with electric, we requested hardstandings next to some friends when we booked which they catered for.
The site has a farm shop which sells a lot of local produce at reasonable prices, there is a little cafe and fridays and saturday nights there is a traditional pizza oven van.
The views we're lovely. Staff friendly and the facilities we're clean even in the older toilet block behind the cafe.
There are porta loos in the lower fields for tent campers to use if they get caught short in the night too.
There is a small play area but it kept my brood amused so no complaints there too.
We had a walk into bewdley which took about 20 minutes, Bewdley is a lovely town and well worth a visit and the severn valley steam railway runs through it for train enthuiasts.
We also had a walk to the wyre forest country park where you can do many nature trails and easily spend a day here.
Stourport on severn is also a 10 minute drive away which has plenty to keep the kids amused and lovely walks along the river too.
Kidderminster is also close by the shopping and groceries as it has a tesco, sainsburys, morrisons etc.
There is plenty to do on a rainy day in the area, the nearby forest glades leosure centre in kidderminster has flumes and wave machines for the kids, there is an abundance of national trust properties within half an hour drive.
We definitely will return.

Very friendly welcome from the owners.
The grass pitches with electric hook-up are well-sized and level. The price is excellent (£17 a night) when other less well-equipped sites are charging £25 in high season.
We found the facilities to be clean and perfectly adequate.
This is very much a family campsite with plenty of free space for playing and a small swings area.
The pizza shack has a lovely atmosphere, the pizzas are great and they serve cold beers, cider and wine.
We had breakfast in the cafe and it was excellent.
One day we took the canoe hire trip with the Sun Valley canoeing co. You get in the canoes at Bridgnorth and there are different lengths of trips to suit all. The price includes a rail ticket for the Severn Valley Steam Railway to take you back to the start.
Also, great walks to be had in the Wyre Forest.

We were greeted with a friendly welcome. Our pitch was located at the top of the campsite on a rather scruffy tarmacked area. There was a little road noise as we were quite close to the main road.
The toilets aren't fantastic - don't expect a power shower and the number of cubicles is quite limited.
You do have to remember however that you are paying less than £20 per night and I would say this campsite offers good value for money and is a good base for visiting what is a an attractive and interesting area.
Bewdley is a great little town with loads of decent pubs and the fish and chips by the bridge are really tasty.
We also had a lovely walk in the nearby Wyre Forest and I had several fishing trips on the beautiful River Severn. We would definitely return here.

If your looking for a family friendly, clean, well maintained campsite, this is definitely one to choose!
We are a family of 4 with 2 children 4 & 8years old - Our Caravan is a 27 foot Twin Axle Caravan.
Our last visit in June was our 5th time here in the last couple of years, we first visited when we changed from Tent to Tourer so thought this site would a good test run. What can I say we have since been to many sites 20+ around the country and this is still one of our favourites to visit, easy to get to even from the M5. It is set in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside.
Our experiences over the last couple of years dealing with various other sites is that Hopleys stands out in our top 3 sites, they do things very well and nothing is ever a problem, on our first few visits we were unsure of various caravan issues and Justin (the owner) was more than happy to help out.
All the facilities are well laid out & very clean, the reception shop has any spares you need (we hired one of the open cast iron log burners, the kids loved it! no where else we have been to will allow you to do this, they even supply the marshmallows for you!)
The farm shop is well stocked and sensibly priced and not the usual rip-off on site stores that we have seen at many places.
It has a nice little kids area with swings. Also a lovely wooded area for the kids to explore in.
There are 2 pubs within 5 - 10 minute walking distance, the Hop Pole & the Running Horse both very nice and great food!
Hopleys also do a Bonfire / Fireworks night which we stayed at last November, that was fantastic even for the younger ones, kids activities and great fireworks. 100% booking again for this year!
Also has the New addition of internet & Wi-Fi now which covers the whole site!
A highly recommended site I'm sure we'll be booking again very soon!

This was our first site in a caravan, having been tent Campers for a number of years.
This site has a nice farm shop on site which stocked some lovely looking treats and the kids loved the ice cream. There is also a cafe on site, but can not comment on this as we didn't no use, but saw lots of people using it.
There is a small play area (swing and bridge type unit), the swing is a little tired, and it's quite basic. There are plenty of water points on the site and one of each waste point.
There are showers by reception which we used with the kids as easier to control them in a small space (others are in toilet block) the male and female shower rooms needs a really good clean, with large cob webs hanging from the sky lights, shower head holder broken in male unit, again this was grubby.
Caravan units on the field we were in we're very close to each other, in our opinion not worth the pitch fee, nice area but we would not use this site again.
Rubbish area were also really neglected, no real care or upkeep. Could be a lovely place with a bit more effort

We have just returned from a three night bank holiday stay at Hopleys. I have to say we really enjoyed ourselves.
I booked last minute (the Tuesday and the arrived on the Friday) and was lucky enough to find a hardstanding pitch that had just been cancelled. So off we went, 2 adult, 3 kids (3/6/8) and our tourer.
We found the site easily and pitched up no problem. Reception staff were really friendly and made sure I had a local map so we could walk to the town via the best route.
We had a water tap right next to our pitch which was great and the hardstanding was necessary as the field was really muddy and I wouldn't have enjoyed the kids traipsing in and out if we had been on the field! The play area was really close so we could see what they were up to but could leave them be too.
There is a farm shop on site (we bought fresh veg and sausages and they were lovely). They stock lots of things including beers from local brewery's and local produce. Not your average camp shop! Very nice indeed and reasonably priced too.
There was also a cafe on site and although we didn't use it, I did go and have a look and the food looked nice and prices were good (£1. 99 for childs meal and approx £4/5 for adult meal).
We visited the town three times (twice on foot and once in the car). Walking is fine but it is steep coming back up - there are two ways to go and both have pubs along the way (The Hop Pole on the main road and the Black Dog {I think} on Wyre Hill - went in this one and they were very lovely people and there is a beer garden with mini pond with frogs which the boys thought to be amazing. So what more do you need? Decent ales too!.
When we did take the car due to the weather and the time we had we parked by the river and the parking was reasonable at £1.30 for two hours (I hate paying for parking too but this was ok).
There is a new toilet block on site and there are two showers (used them both and the far one is less good that the first one). There are also showers and loos plus a wash-up area behind the cafe - these showers look to be better but I didn't get the try them as they were full when I wanted to go in.
Overall we are very happy with our break and we will be going back again and again.
