This was my first visit and I was so impressed I have persuaded hubby to cancel another site with friends and go here instead (availability permitting). I have been surprised at complaints about lack of showers and wonder if people realise there are 2 shower and toilet blocks. I was there on a busy Saturday first night and the owner was working very hard to make all welcome whilst cooking pizza which I hope to try on next visit. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner or his staff and I have to say a comment about lack of cleanliness astounds me as I am a very fussy person especially with public showers/toilets and could not have faulted these. Could go on and on but suffice it to say we will stay here whenever we visit Bewdley and loathe to leave an excellent review in case so many visit we cannot get in when we wish to!

Visited this site last weekend to which we were quite happy.

The prices per night seem to be average for mid - high season for the facilities on offer & where we've been before. Not too happy about having to pay extra for my awning as the pitch was 'mine' for the weekend & it didn't encroach any other pitches but it's a business at the end of the day.

On booking we found staff very friendly & helpful & as we were late booking (the day before) we found ourselves on pitches 28 & 29 which were quite 'slopey'. After resting the 'A frame' on the ground we weren't far off level.

The views from our pitch were very pleasant & we didn't witness any rowdy campers.

There is a mobile no. displayed on signage that you can ring if you encounter any noise after 11pm as I'm sure the campsite owners will sort out any issues.

The toilet/shower block was warm & clean (showers hot & free). Washing up sinks are available also & signs did indicate laundry facilities but we were only there 2 nights so we didn't bother.

On site there is a cafe which my auntie uses regularly (lives in Bewdley) & 'swears by it' (good food) & there is also a farm shop selling locally produced products.

There is a wooden building which sells beers etc & a marquee for customers/campers to sit & chill out.

If you fancy a pub without having to drive you have a 10 minute walk to The Running Horse which is a right turn out of site has a good selection of beers etc & nice food :) & a large beer garden if the weathers nice or take a left out of the site & again 10 mins you will find The Hop Pole pub which I haven't been in for many years so I cant comment.

If you can walk a little further (about a mile), Bewdley is down the road which has lots of pubs/bars, takeaways, curry houses etc, shops & has plenty of things to do.

An ideal site for walkers as you are in the Wyre Forest.

If you do go to this site, try & book pitches 2 - 19 ish, pitches in the 20's (& pitch no 1) are in a sloping field (pot luck) but pitch 29 is the worst which is right in the bottom corner.

Pitches 26 & 27 were vacant whilst we were there which we would have preferred but we were told that the pitches we were given were the only ones available :(

To be fair it could be that 26 & 27 were booked but they didn't turn up. But who knows ???

I haven't commented on kids facilities as our group was just adults & I didn't pay any attention to what's available for kids but in the lower field where tents pitch there's loads of space for ball games etc & fishing available.

We live local so we will definitely be back again this year & we would recommend it.

So go & see for yourselves.

This was our first visit to this site and in first impression seemed very nice but got pitched by what can only be described as a view of a refuge site. Although a little boggy due to the recent snow. A little pricey at £19 a night and you have to pay for extras like awning, gazebos and extra people visiting just for the day! On the second day we were in very close proximity to the next caravan which was 3 foot away. Complained but was told to move if not happy. This surely is in breach of regulations? If a fire was to happen it could be such a hazard pitched this close to each other. Be aware that pitches are very close together and in some spaces no room for a car to park.
Management response: We are sorry that the lady feels like she did not have the required amount of space. We had allocated her a suitable pitch for her twin axle caravan which she declined and asked instead for a different pitch. She was informed that it was a smaller pitch not designed for her unit but she insisted. When her neighbours arrived the next day she voiced her concerns and we offered to move the nighbour, who was quite happy to move, however she declined the offer and seemed satisfied. We would not wish any of our clients to be unhappy and would always welcome them to come and talk to us about any concerns they may have.

Read about the site in Febs practical motorhome;it had a good writeup so I booked 4 nights! It offered live music over the weekend & possibly hot food. Just before Easter we had the snow & cold weather anyway that didn't put me off so we went. When we arrived we were offered the patch next to the toilets. They were clean & tidy except in the invalids, it looked as if someone took their dog with muddy paws there for a walk. The weather didn't help the situation but the live music never happened. I tow a car on holidays & if I hadn't done that the time at hopleys would have been more boring than it was. We visited wyre forest (great in the right weather), bewdley town (walked by river) & a drink in a few pubs. Also stourport on severn where all the richest people in Britain live (travellers in the car park) there wasn't a unit that the average value was about £40000 (where are we going wrong). Perhaps a different time of year hopleys might be better but I wouldn't go again (although I do read the writeups before I book any site)

We have stopped on this site a few times now and enjoy the stay. Our requests are always adhered to via the owners. The site is quiet except when busy and the facilities are always clean on our visits. We stay here to chill out from work and relax in the caravan. If there is a problem they will help to the best of their ability or suggest an alternative option to the problem.

The farm shop is good if you have forgotten anything. The cafe is of a reasonable standard and we have had a number of breakfasts here during our stays. There is a garage opposite for any problems with your cars and you can get gas if you run out at the site.

We drive into bewdley for visits and to stock up on food etc. Stourport to look at the new caravans at Chichester caravans and take walks by the river. We are looking forward to our next visit at the end of april 2013 to see if the landscaping is now finished. My Dog likes it here as he enjoys his daily walk about.

There was a small amount of dog mess from irresponsible dog owners around the site but it did not deter our stay here. The ground can be a bit muddy when there is a lot of rain but with good wellie's its fine. The pond area is ok but needs a parent accompanying young children just in case they fall in. Site fees are a bit high for us pensioners perhaps a reduction could be looked at by the owners, but otherwise we always enjoy the stay and recommend you stay for a few days.

On arrival we hadn't been allocated a pitch even though it had been booked for 2 weeks not good first impression. After some deliberation we were given our pitches 54/55 which are laid out on terraces which does give the feeling of more space and very close to portable loos which unfortunately had run over of toilet paper at 2pm.

The site soon filled up and there was a wedding party whose gazebos had blown down, take note its a windy site and dark don, t forget ya torch.

Nice atmosphere, lots of glowing campfires around, shame a wedding guest kicked off around 1am lots of shouting and swearing for a couple of hours until he calmed down, same goes for the road noise very loud in the early hours seems all the noisy cars and bikes come out to play at midnight, this only bothered 2 of the 4 of us so maybe I'm picky.

Lovely cafe, great food store, ok showers.

Stourport well worth a visit, great for children a big park, outdoor pool and fair, we hired a boat for £15 for 30 mins(4adults) and went up the river great value loved it.

Saturday night more peaceful less traffic and a lovely hooting owl.

We took a vote if we would return here 3/4 said yes.

I stayed at Hopleys for a weekend as part of a group of families and couples, all in tents. The location was convenient for people coming from different areas of the country. The campsite does have a nice countryside view, although you can hear a little bit of road noise.

It is not always easy to find somewhere to stay with a large family/friend group like this, but Hopleys were very welcoming. They have two or three fields, including a dedicated rally field, so there is plenty of space for groups like this. My impression was that quite a lot of the campers were there as part of groups, even if it was only a couple of families together. There were a lot of families, and plenty of children around the campsite, riding bikes and playing in the playground and on the banks. We also saw a motorbike rally.

The campsite policy says quiet time is at 11pm. The campsite did definitely quieten down then, and it was probably silent by midnight. Although Hopleys are happy to take groups, it is not a rowdy party campsite. There are notices in the washblock saying that they expect the rules to be adhered to, and they have the owner's mobile number on with a request that you call him 24 hours if there is a problem, particularly with noise. I thought that that was a nice touch, and shows that they don't accept rowdiness.

We stayed over until Monday, and the campsite was noticeably quieter on Sunday night/Monday morning - it is clearly very popular for weekend stays.

The wash blocks were okay. I only joined a short queue for the shower once (on Sunday morning). The facilities could have been cleaner, but they were perfectly useable, and there was always toilet roll and soap. I was quite happy to have a shower there, but I definitely wanted to wear my flip flops in the shower. The showers are of the push button type, the water was a bit hot at times, and the pressure was poor.

There is a disabled/family wash room. My friends with children said that the problem with this was that the water was inclined to spray everywhere, so you couldn't wash the children without getting wet yourself. There is also a small playground, with swings and a climbing frame and a wobbly bridge

The campsite pricing is good for families (£14 per night for a tent with up to 2 adults and 2 children), but expensive for single people.

There is a farm shop on site, which was really good. There is also an on site pizza shack open on Friday and Saturday evenings. The pizza was excellent, and the family deal (4 pizzas for £15) was very good value. It was really nice just to get a pizza on arrival on Friday evening rather than having to cook after putting the tents up. There is also a cafe on site, which will do you a cooked breakfast or an afternoon tea. This was reasonable priced, and the food was okay.

On Saturday we went for a walk in the Wyre Forest (you can walk there straight from the campsite), which was very nice, with clear paths and also some mountain bike trails. There is also a Go Ape in the forest. On Sunday we went to Kidderminster (about ten minutes' drive) to the Severn Valley Railway. You can go onto the platform here and into the cafe and the musuem even if you aren't actually going for a ride on the steam train.

I would definitely go back to Hopleys for the weekend as part of a group of friends/family. I don't think that I would go if I wanted a really quiet weekend with my husband.

We came home yesterday from a 4 night stay at Hopleys which my wife, daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed.

The site has a nice farm shop, a nice homely cafe, and a Reception which carries some camping essentials should you have forgotten something. There is also a play ground for the kids to play in.

There is a good shower block up by the reception, which has both Male and Female shower /toilet rooms, a Family/Disabled Shower/Toilet room, and a Laundry room. On the outside of this are a couple of sinks and drainers to do the washing up too. Showers were all warm and completely free.

The other toilet facilities on site consisted of 4 portaloos in the paddock field (Which did the job, but were only as clean as the previous person who used them was) and a sort of trailer toilet affair at the bottom of the terraces which we didn’t use so I can’t say how good they were. It would be good if the owners reviewed these and replaced them with more blocks like the shower block in the future.

The site was split up into 3 sections, Hard standing hook up pitches, Terraced hook up pitches, and a large paddock for the non-hook up pitches. The paddock was a little slopey in a few places, but was mostly flat. We camped in the paddock, as we are old school and don’t believe you need electricity to go camping. It is OK I suppose if you have to keep medication like insulin cool, but when you are going for an early evening walk and you hear the theme music to Eastenders bellowing out of a tent. Well that’s not really taking a holiday is it. ??

The Staff/Owners were all very friendly and courteous.

You can hire a portable fire pit from reception (£9 + £20 Refundable Deposit) which was basically £3 for the hire of the fire pit and £6 for a bag of chopped wood and a bag of kindling, which is great for campers like myself who like to sit around a campfire at night.

A mile down the road you have the riverside town of Bewdley, which is a nice little town with plenty of nooks and crannies for you to explore, as well as the Severn Valley Railway, although I would recommend drive down as it is a steep walk back all the way. We parked at the railway Station which was £3 for a day ticket.

A few hundred meters in the other direction, you have the Wyre Forest Visitor Centre, which has a huge wooden playground for the kids and a cafe, where you can also buy guides for all the different walks around the forest.

Apart from having to pitch the tent up in the rain, which you can’t really blame the site for, we had a great time and will definitely be visiting the site again in the future.

This campsite is ridiculously close to home but we decided to stay with friends for one night. Having used the farm shop for years it has been interesting to see the development.

The site is well terraced and we had plenty of spots to choose from.

There are portable loos across the site, which were clean and had loo roll in (can't comment on the showers as we only stopped one night & went home for one!).

The ground was a little muddy in places-not surprising when you consider how much rain we have had.

However, there were plenty of dry spots too. Close to the road but couldn't really be heard.

Altogether, a good little site for a one or two night stop.
