I have just returned from this site and can not wait to go back again all the facilities were splendid the toilets and shower block was spotlessly clean and I witnessed them being cleaned frequently through out the day. The on site cafe was also clean and the staff were polite and friendly the meals where reasonably priced and value for money. The owner was very helpful and friendly but does run a tight ship which he is to be commended for because that way there is no nuisances on site and everyone gets to enjoy there holiday. Bewdley is only a short walk away and 10 mins by car and Stourport is the other way again about 20 mins by car. There is a small laundry on site and a marquee that opens on weds and Saturday where you can have a pint and a pizza sometimes there is live music on these days too there is a washing up area taps for clean drinking water and bins for rubbish all in all this site for me was brilliant and I shall be recommending it to all my friends and family

We stayed on this site the last weekend in July.
Positives - staff were friendly, there is a cafe on site where you can purchase a cooked breakfast, sandwiches, cooked meal and the takeaway pizza available on a Friday and Saturday night were great. There is a farmshop where you can buy most camping essentials, but it is expensive. There are two pubs within walking distance.
Negatives - the site was full, in areas tents were very closely pitched together and there was constant noise. The area is on a slope and we understand from locals has flooded in the past, so pitch your tent at a higher level. They have recently built a second new toilet & shower block, but this and the other block were unable to cope at peak times with demand. Best times to go are around 7am or late afternoon. There are approx 10 portoloos on site, so clearly they need another toilet block. We came across hard fat and food left by other campers.
It does have the makings of a good site, but we won't be returning there. It was only £16 a night, so I suppose you get what you pay for.

Just had a fantastic 4 day break at this site. Friendly & helpful staff, excellent farm shop, toilets & showers block very clean plenty of hot water. We were there before the kids finished for the summer so was fairly quiet but there is plenty to see and do if you do not want to remain on site all day. Sadly were not able to sample the pizza (very good we understand) as we arrived Sunday & left on the Thurs. So not open. Treat ourselves to breakfast at the site café very good value for money. Visited the West Midlands Safari park a short 3 miles away, walked into Bewdley and to the severn valley railway took the train to Bridgnorth and had a walk round and on return sampled the delights of several locals pubs a must if your into real ale. Just a note if you walk into Bewdley it is a very steep hill back up to camp as the heat wave was in full swing we paid £4 for a taxi ride back as there is not a regular bus service
Travelled nearly 200 miles to get there but that would not put us off returning. Met some very nice & friendly fellow campers hope to return soon.

This site could be lovely. However the term Family camping should mean just that. We stayed over a weekend in early July just before the heat-wave kicked in. However it was still nice. The problem we had was two groups of moronic people from the Black country who constantly screamed obscenities around the site when talking to each other. With no regard whatsoever about the children and young families using the site. One group was all adults and were only intent on getting very drunk outside their tent and using the poor language. I am not a prude I drink and swear but there is a time and a place. Well for swearing at least. (My 10 year old has never heard me swear. ) If they controlled who used the site and how people behave it could be very good. (Sea barn used a noise bond payable on arrival in Weymouth and it worked really well. )
Facilities were good (although my daughter stated the Park needed more) and staff or owners were really friendly. The pizza's are good and the entertainment they give was good in a beer style tent.
Bewdley is nice for a walk around

This was our first ever camping trip and I have to say we chose a great site. Not sure what to expect but the site was lovely. Staff were very flexible when we moved our dates along by one day due to the rain and also when our car broke down and there was the possibility that we would not be offsite by 12. First impressions of the toilet facilities were not great as we used the 'shack' type but then discovered the much more modern block opposite. Only gripe here was that the shower cubicles weren't really big enough for me and my 8 year old daughter so we ended up using the one and only disabled shower with loads of room.
Site was very muddy due to the rain - not much anyone can do about that but felt that the toilets/shower blocks should have been cleaned at least twice a day in those conditions.
The on-site pizzeria opened specially on the Wednesday evening as many people arrived and I have to say they are worth every penny - absolutely delicious.
The site is in a beautiful location with lovely views over the countryside. The play area is functional but not in view of the pitches as it was up on the top level with the caravans but it didn't stop our daughter from exploring and we felt relaxed and happy.
The nearest town, Bewdley, is 1 mile and is well worth a visit, especially the museum which is free and a walk along the river. About 200 yards from the site is plant nursery run by a charity - very reasonable prices and well worth a visit if you are into gardening.
The on-site farmshop sells everything you really need and also serves the local community which is a great advertisement.
All in all, a great time was had by all and I feel that I have recharged my batteries sufficiently to survive until the summer holidays when we can do it all again, so thank you to all at Hopleys Family Camping.

Very friendly site, we were made very welcome and enjoyed our stay.
It's not the most picturesque site we've stayed at but the facilities we very good.
Wouldn't recommend the cafe though, had a bacon sandwich on the Sunday morning, which contained only two slices of bacon ( thin bacon) would rather pay more and get a better sandwich personally.
The town of Bewdley is in a valley and if walking into town it's very steep not suitable for people who are a bit unsteady on their feet. The local taxi was quite reasonable though, only cost £3:50 back to the site.
Would return definitely.

Management response: Thank you for the review and we would like to make it clear that the cafe is not run by the campsite and we therefore have no control over the portion sizes. |

We visited this site on 21st May 2013 for 3 nights ( mid week). This site may only hold 35 caravans but the layout is suburb, it's like being in a back garden as the caravans are not all regimented.
the grass and hard standing are all level, and the owner is planning for more caravans.
The New shower & toilet block are very clean and warm.
On site facilities are good for young children with swings etc, the Farm shop sells everything you would want to buy (Food Department).
The Reception did sell a few camping items but this was limited,
There is also adequate local information available.
The staff are really friendly which is very nice.
The on site cafe is very convenient to get a coffee and cake plus more.
Access to Bewdley town centre is a 20 min walk and its all
Up- hill on the way back, but there is a pub half way.
However, car parking in Bewdley is cheap.
There are many things you can do around this area, out season as well as in the main.
Would we go back, that's a big YES.
P. S The 4 Tipis look interesting, plus there is loads of pitches for tents.

Visited Hopleys for the second time for the Mayday bank holiday weekend for 3 nights, 4 families in our various tunnel tents.
We were pitched on 4 EHU enclosed in their own group by the Tipis. Since we came last time the pitches have been levelled off which has been a huge improvement.
Toilets old and new block clean, we had to queue for a shower but it was the bank holiday weekend so was a busy site, going back after 11am avoided this but being free is always bonus too.
Pizza Hut was great, a bit slow on the Friday night but it was very busy but worth the wait, as lovely and fresh and kids loved them !
The men and kids went fishing in the pool on the site, but not a lot caught as everyone had the same idea!
We made use of the open space by the Tipis and played rounders and round the world with the kids, and got some of the other campers involved.
Kids loved the playground and it was always packed, maybe not good for the caravans that were pitched up on the grass next to it.
The site allows fire pits, which can be hired if you don't have your own, and fire wood and smokeless logs can be purchased from the site office- but the smokeless logs give off loads of smoke ! Maybe ours were smokey as we had them out overnight and were a little damp.
Farm shop full of lovely fresh produce and the ice cream is do die for - rum and raisin was my favourite!
A lovely gem of a site, reasonably priced and ideal for a short break, we'll done Hopleys, see you again.

I visited Hopley on my bike tour. The site was very spacious and very friendly. The free showers were excellent, clean and plenty of hot water. There was a hut sign written to sell pizza and ice cream but alas was closed on my visit. The shop sells a wide choice of products but is a bit expensive. The on site café was busy although I didn't try it myself. Overall I would and have recommended Hopleys and hope to go back there myself soon.

A lovely site on the outskirts of Bewdley. Lovely clean showers and toilets. Nice little park for the kids to play on. Walked into Bewdley, nice walk down a hill. Also walked to the forest. Had a hardstanding pitch which was fine, a little on the small side. The tipis look fab. The farm shop on site well stocked with lovely fruit and veg and most of the necessities needed for camping. The best bit was the home made pizza shack especially after a days walking. The meal deal is brilliant they also have a bar and a gazebo to sit in. All in all a really nice site.
