Nice site, have just stayed for 4 nights, very friendly staff, bit expensive. Make sure you have a very long hook up cable, because not many power points. Nice toilet block lovely and warm on a morning for shower, kept very clean. Think the tourers could be further apart for privacy, (next caravan had a short cable so woke up to looking into there bedroom) think another field could be opened for tourers, as the tents had acres to pitch up. Nice dog walking, signs all over to pick up after dog, but NO bins provided. Farm shop excellent local produce and it had everything you need. Cafe closed at 3. 00 pm. So no food if you are late comer. Play area needs to be a lot bigger loads of kids, for 2 swings and climbing frame, granddaughter very disappointed. Pub about 1 mile down the road The Hop pole excellent food, or you can carry on into Bewdley

We have just returned from 3 nights at Hopleys and found it to be a great site. We arrived home to the news that this is the wettest winter on record so this is a wet weather review. We arrived in the drizzle to be told to pick any pitch we wanted even though we didn't need EHU, those pitches were drier. The site as a whole was very wet, but to be honest everywhere is saturated at the moment and the top of the site was quicker to drain.
The customer service was fantastic, if the reception / shop wasn't manned we could ring / text for assistance and we were able to get tourist information and advice too. They even delivered the firepit and logs to our pitch (a nice touch as it was quiet). There was a separate farm shop and a cafe which are good value for money as they're open to the public and not captive market prices you often see at campsites. The cafe breakfast was disappointing, however I think not owned by Hopleys so I haven't marked them down on this.
Although this is not the site with the most facilities, it's not as basic as you would expect for the price. The new toilet / shower block is fantastic and was kept clean even in this awful weather, the washing up is under cover and the bin sheds were in good order. The kids play area is very basic but that is not the draw here. The location is easy to find and right on the doorstep of the Wyre Forest; nature's playground. Nearby Stourport has the holiday entertainment if you want amusement arcades etc. Bewdley itself is a very quaint little town full of independent shops of the type that have gone out of business everywhere else. If you want a cheap rural short break with campfires and good views, Hopleys is perfect. We would definitely consider returning for a weekend in the summer.

We stayed here for two nights at the end of October this year. A lovely campsite with everything you could want, the toilets and showers are modern and clean. There is a cafe, shop and rustic pizza co. We will definitely be returning. The staff are very helpful and friendly (thank you for the loan of the jump leads) and the prices are very reasonable. If you like to explore the local area then visit Ludlow a lovely historical town with original shops and lovely old pubs.

Booked site for 2 days with the option of third, which in the end we declined. Arrived and was greeted by helpful staff and manager, however the allocation we had was swamped from recent rain, we deliberated for a while and was put on shingle next to the Pizza hut, offered us blocks to level up but we had some. Was going to use the MH to visit but to be honest after chocking and setup we thought for 2 days, walk which we did.
Site was clean and due to time of year pretty empty, although bottom fields were waterlogged so no spaces there. The next morning we were awoken by a dumper truck and digger sorting out earth moving for a couple of hours right behind where we were parked.
Please don't get me wrong the site is lovely and I would return, but there needs to be more done for it to claim an all year round site.
As it seems prone to collecting water more hard standings should be made and shingle roads to them rather than the grass, and I am sure the owners will get round to this as they are always busy working and helping (The dumper truck alarm call) I saw that some fields had drainage which is a credit, but in the rainy season it does not cope good. All in all I think this is a site that is good, but there is still work in progress, but at the moment personally I would have thought for all year round it would not be suitable until it is sorted in relation to the issues above.
One other note is that in the circustances the cost of the pitches should have reflected the conditions and restrictions at the time and allowance be made, but that is just a personal thought.
Would we go back, yes because it is a beautiful part of the country and the site is located brilliantly, could we go back, the owner might not let us after this??? but we are being honest and trying to help them with comment.

Management response: Thank you for your comments and please note:
We had had an unseasonal amount of rain prior to this review and we are addressing the issues raised with better drainage etc. |

We booked for the bonfire weekend paid ten pounds each unit deposit there was five caravans in total. We arrived Friday to be told it was an extra five pounds each for tickets for the bonfire so in total was £44. 00 what a rip off !
The electric was off for five hours Friday night and twice again on Saturday. We were put down on the bottom field in a mud bath, we complained to the owner only to be told it had never tripped out like that before not what one of the other campers had told us they said never go on the bottom field the electric is always tripping out. The bonfire and fireworks was very disappointing, the two groups was the best part of the night. Sunday morning was woken up at 7. 30 by some inconsiderate people talking very loud and by this time we had lost the will to live! so went in search of the owner to complain he offered ten pounds per caravan for loss of electric but I said no and stuck out for twenty which he reluctantly gave me but he did not offer to pay for the plastic feet he ripped off our caravan when he put it on the pitch, shall we be returning no !

Management response: Thank you for your comments and please note:
1. All people booking were told that there was an extra charge for tickets to the bonfire and had agreed to this on booking. 2. We apologise for the power issue and are addressing that by hopefully installing a new 3 phase system in the new Year. 3. We do apologise for noise created by inconsiderate campers but we do everything we can to ensure noise is kept to a minimum early and late in the day 4. We had had an unseasonal amount of rain prior to this review and we are addressing the issues raised with better drainage etc. |

Booked a long weekend at very short notice which they where more than happy to give us a pitch. The site is very well set out with nice pitches fence lined with plenty of room and good electric hook up facilities. Fenced pitches at the top are nice and flat a bit hard to peg but not too bad. The lower field is not as flat. The lower toilets are the only let down but I guess there only there for when it gets busy. The top toilets and showers are very good always clean and we'll kept. There is pizza available at weekends which are very nice yummy! The staff are very helpful and are happy to help. The location of the campsite is very good a few minutes drive to bewdley or a 25 min walk. A great place to stay if you are visiting the local area with West Midlands safari park 10 mins away. Could not think of a better campsite in the county. Thanks to all the staff. Also there are some teepess that are very cool and would lovely for a couple weekend away.

My family and I have just had a 3 night break at Hopleys and we loved it. This is only the 3rd time we have been camping and was by far the best site we have found. All the facilities were clean and tidy. Hot water was plentiful and the pitch was a generous size. The Rustic Pizza Company were there Friday and Saturday and were well worth the money, the young man singing Saturday night was excellent. The on site farm shop was well stocked with everything you could need and had freshly baked bread in the morning.
There is a small play area for the kids and we discovered a small fish pond and a float fishing pool with ducks on it. Any noise was minimal and it was quiet after 11pm. The only thing I found that could be improved was the exit road it is quite steep with loose stones and I had some difficulty with it. We will certainly be returning.

Cherie and I stayed here in August this year.
It was great weather, We went 'off the cuff' giving them a call on the day and asked them to reserve us a pitch.
On arrival, The person who served me was most helpful and the same person I had spoken to on the phone. She told me where all the facilities were, the general layout of the site. She advised where we should pitch and off we went.
We pitched up on decent ground. Helped another couple put their tent up as they were struggling and had the same kit. Whilst someone else helped us by blowing up all the airbeds - very friendly site indeed!
We went for a walk on the evening and found a local pub (within 1 mile) waking down hill towards Bewdley.
Pub was amazing and food was great. A little pricey but still good value for money.
We got back to the site at about 10:30 and the site was extremely quiet.
As you go out of the site and turn right - there's another pub that does food with fantastic garden - just turn right at the island and go about 300yrds up the road on the right.
I would also recommend that you visit the Wyre Forrest and have a walk around there - that was fantastic. And if you fancy being adventurous - there's a 'Go Ape' there
Overall, a great experience for us and we will be returning in 2014.

One word for this site “perfect”, We have now camped at this site numerous times and can’t fault it. The people on site are friendly and very helpful.
The showers / toilets are very clean and the water is hot. On a weekend they open the Pizza Shack and I can highly recommend the Pizza’s, You can either eat them in the gazebo or take them back to your tents, they are lovely. The shack also sells a few real ales. If you have a sweet tooth then try the waffle and ice cream, They are fab! Every time we have been they have also had entertainment on. The café on site is also reasonably priced and the food is very nice. There is a farm shop on site which is a great little place, selling a variety of items. Would highly recommend this site!

A fantastic site. Farm shop is reasonable and the range of products is brilliant. The cafe is good and also reasonable. The pizza shack is great but is a little expensive for what you get. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The toilet and showers can not be faulted. It's a 5 minute drive to bewdley and a range of pubs are also close by. All in all had a great time. But on the negative side pitches seem a little close to each other in my opinion. I'll be going back there.
