A lovely site for our first camping trip, although there were queues for toilets and showers most times of the day. Very generous pitch sizes and lots of areas to play games. There are several pubs within walking distance, The Mount Pleasant serves good food - I would recommend booking a table by a window.

August 2004 Nice site that wasn't too busy for the time of year, flat pitches although alot of stones in the ground so pegging was difficult. The owners were nice and the facilities were good and clean. A short five minute walk into dawlish warren and a very nice pub around the corner (the Mount Pleasant Inn) I would reccomend. Only criticism was the water that we were told was drinkable tasted like anticeptic cream and gave my Dad an upset stomach but we purchased water from down the road anyway. There are some nice attractions if people are prepared to drive, I particularly liked Powderham Castle and the Buckfastleigh Butterfly Sanctury. Take plenty of money because they arent all that cheap. Prices of campsite were very good for location and facilities, would recommend for people who want a quiet friendly campsite with plenty of opportunities for day trips.

August 2004 Really nice campsite, well laid out. toilets and showers in fantastic condition. The staff were really nice and were always happy to help. Were brilliant under pressure when a thoroughly disgusting group were abusive and threatening using vulgar language in the tent next to us. Thank you for dismissing them!! Dawlish Warren itself is a bit too chavvy aimed at stereotypical British tourists. Dawlish was a nice place with a lovely stream running through the town and plenty of ice cream shops and high street names. Exeter is within reach, as is Torquay with an excellent bus service with a bus stop right outside the campsite. Recommend the pub called The Mount Pleasant Inn which serves fantastic food and lovely staff:)

July 2004 This is a little gem of a camp site. It has a large "family" field which includes a play area for the kids. The toilets were clean and within easy reach. The showers were also clean but there were only 7 or 8 for the whole campsite. It is ideally situated for visits to the local area but if you just want to go to the beach then it is perfect for that too. The campsite staff are friendly, many thanks to John who went and opened the gas storage to get me a new 907 tank at 10 pm!!!! Thanks for the great holiday...We will be back next year!!!!!!

June 2003 This was our first time camping and we had just set off with nowhere to stay. We arrived quite late and this was one of the few sites that catered for late arrivals. We found everyone to be really helpful and friendly and the showers and toilets were spotless. There was a choice of pubs and places to eat locally to suit most tastes and pockets. The nearby beach was quite lively with a few fairground rides. We were only going to stay one night, but ended up staying the whole extended weekend. We will definitely return here, as this was our maiden journey and gave us the camping bug.

august 2003 The facilities are simple, clean well maintained The campsite had a no loud noise after 11 p.m. rule which is generally well observed and actually policed by someone who walks about with a torch and asks people to be quiet! Lots of children and friendly other campers with quite a bit of diversity, and lots of space for ball games and a little playground use by young children and teenagers. The site is very well situated for days out - Dawlish Warren itself is a bit british bulldog but you can quickly escape on the train, bus or walking to much quieter beaches or into Exeter for a bit of culture. The twice weekly bootfair on the field next door was a huge success as was the mini golf in both dawlish warren and Dawlish. Smugglers beach in shaldon near teignmouth is well worth a day trip WE will be going back this year .

June 1999 Not sure if this review is valid as we stayed there 3 years ago, it may/may not have changed...
We camped for a week and found the site to be lovely and the owners friendly (we had 2 small children at the time). Pitches were of a good size and clearly marked out. Toilets were immaculate.
The site had a gentle slope (if I remember correctly) and on certain pitches (ours) you could see the sea. There is a small play area for children.
The site takes both tents and caravans. There is a small office/shop at reception which sells essentials only. It's about a mile away from Dawlish Warren which can be walked to although it's a steep hill to walk up (on the way back).
We plan to revisit next summer.
