I absolutely LOVED this site. Very well kept, staff available if needed. Excellent facilities. The showers were 20p, but that gave an ample, long hot shower. Very clean. Can't wait to go back! Excellent farm shop next door and bus stop right outside to go in to surrounding area. Wild life encouraged, which We loved.

Just returned from Leadstone after a 5 night stay at this lovely site. Well situated for a 10 min walk into the warren and 30 min walk into Dawlish. The owners were very friendly and the site was spotlessly clean with ample room around our pitch. The bus stops right outside the entrance and are dog friendly. The showers and toilets were clean, modern but the site could do with a few more but we were quite lucky and didn't have to queue very long. Overall a great site for visiting this part of Devon and will be back very soon.

We stayed for eight nights, which was the longest time we had holidayed in our motorhome. The site was really nice and we recommend it wholeheartedly.
My husband, 16 month old and me (nearly 7 months pregnant with twins) stayed. The site was in the perfect spot for either walking to the local village/town or catching the bus. Dawlish Warren was 10 minutes down the hill to the beach. It had a steep short walk back up the hill with a conveniently placed pub midway (beautiful views)! The tide at Dawlish Warren was a little weird, we never quite got it, but we did manage to get on the beach a couple of times in the afternoon when the tide was out a bit!
Dawlish was either a short 20 minute walk on fairly level ground along the main road (with paths), or a longer walk along the coast from Dawlish Warren. We found the coastal walk was beautiful but the end was closed off so had to haul the pushchair over the bridge!
The bus stops right outside the site and is very regular. We used it a lot and could fit our pushchair on easily if no one else had a buggy or wheelchair. We also caught the train to Torquay which had fab views!
Our little one loved the park on site. We were forever running after him down to it. The regulars were friendly and the owners equally so. The water, waste and all that kind of thing was very good; they do have raised edges so it can be difficult to lift a full water butt over the ledge. Make sure you have a long hose to save your back!
All in all we had a great week and will go back again. It was perfect for a family and for the first time ever, we didn't use our own vehicle but relied completely on our own legs, the bus and the train. Relax!

Having not been camping for many years, I was delighted to find such a lovely campsite, spotlessly clean with excellent facilities.
The site was dog-friendly and we have a lovely time with our two four-legged friends.
We received a very warm welcome too and could not have asked for a more enjoyable and pleasant stay.

This was my fourth year in a row here and as usual expected a friendly and helpful welcome from Andrew, Sarah and staff. They even let me have a parcel couriered from home in an emergency. Others have commented on the facilities and locality so no need for me to repeat these. Thoroughly enjoyed my holiday and hope to be back next year. Noticed that another poster said you can walk to Sainsbury via A379. Another way is to go into Dawlish Warren and use the lakeside footpath behind Hazelwood Park.

Just spent two nights at this site and really enjoyed our stay. Although some pitches are on a slope, the site is well presented and maintained. The shower/bathroom/washing up block is fantastic. Plenty of facilities and kept very clean. The kids playground is basic, but sufficient. With Sainsbury's a few minutes drive away, we didn't use any pubs or restaurants. Dawlish Warren beach is a couple of minutes drive and the town the in the opposite direction, takes a few minutes longer.

Good site the location is handy as is only ten minutes into Dawlish warren and then nice walk into Dawlish itself ( although the beach path isn't quite finished yet )Dawlish. Plenty of shops and eateries. Outside the site you can catch the bus into Torquay and it a scenic journey for £7. 50 return I don't think its too bad. It was very busy when we stayed and lots of children but not really noisy. ( the swing needed oiling though) Toilets and showers were clean enough but are unisex which I personally don't like ( not everyone mops up after themselves)and whilst there was a bucket and mop there wasn't any water in it. Possibly could do with a few more showers for the busy times. For some reason the floor seemed to be wet all the time but all in all a good site the staff were excellent and very attentive. I would visit this site again.

Stayed for the last week in August. Arrived on the Airshow day, very busy on the roads to the site. A good, uncommercial old fashioned camp site. Mainly tents and a few motor homes and caravans. All pitches were grass and the site is pretty sloping. We had a good, level pitch in the corner. Site was full when we arrived, we were expecting it to be busy so no issue with that. The facilities were very busy, queues in the morning, both shower and toilet. Thought that maybe not quite enough facilities for a full site. Though the staff did their best the showers were quite dirty and the floors constantly wet, however the weather was very wet so that didn't help. The water points on site all had the press down taps, bit of pest when filling a large water tank.
Site was clean, well kept and had a very comfortable feel to it.
Dawlish Warren is 10 minutes away on foot, plenty of places to eat and drink. We had dinner in the pub halfway to the Warren, cant remember the name. Good pub, good food and service but not cheap. It was a treat though. The fish and chip shop at the bottom of the hill in the Warren was excellent and not expensive. Didnt try the other take aways but a few deliver to the site. There is a Sainsburys supermarket about a mile from the site.
The area is lovely and lots of places to visit. Teignmouth is a very old fashioned Seaside town, we loved it.
A nice site, may visit again.

Thank you for your comments. Perhaps I can just clarify a few points?
We usually have around 12 season pitches each year spread across 3 of the 4 main fields. We are well advertised as being in 'a natural secluded bowl' - the main touring field 'Field 1' is the levellest but we have plenty of pitches suitable for touring caravans and motorhomes in all 4.
The pitch in the corner of 'Field 3' (63) that backs onto the Farm Shop is very popular! You can see right across the site from there and in winter when all the leaves have fallen you can see the Exe Estuary!
I was on duty on the evening you (Heanorboy) mention and the Subaru was reported to the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary. I hope it did not detract from your stay and Sarah and I look forward to welcoming you again.

Returned from leadstone site which is very pleasant quite and relaxing, the staff are very helpful, we had the option to select our preferred pitch as the site was not busy. We chose the top corner of the field backing onto the farm shop this really was the only flat pitch that was available on the park a very sloping site more suitable for tents than touring caravans. The main caravan field slightly more flatter appeared to be booked for seasonal units. The site shop was small but had the essentials, bread milk etc and adequate information on local interesting places to visit but there is sainsburys 10mins walk away on the A379. The toilet and shower block are immaculate as are the waste and elsan points, Dawlish warren and Dawlish town are easy walking distance and very nice to visit good food at the ugly duckling restaurant at £6. 50 for a carvery meal and the chip shop on the sea front was also good although expensive. The local bus service stops outside the site and we used this to visit teignmouth and Torquay. I would use this again if I could be allocated the same pitch on request. The only negative point was on the Friday night when the local village idiot arrived in his Subaru and decided it was fun to perform doe nuts in 2 of the fields I did not complain to the owners as this is a open site with no deterrent to discourage trespass. All in all a good holiday
