Stayed here for a weekend last summer but just got around to writing a review.
Site at the time only had toilets in porta cabin at the time but were always immaculate.
We had an electric pitch which was a generous size and very flat.
Site only ten mins walk into the beautiful village of middleton, lane to drive into only single file so might be tricky in a tourer but we had no problems with the car.
Few pubs and a co op in middleton and also an excellent chippy
From recent reviews we see that showers have been added and we will definitely return very soon.

Just returned from 1 night stay at Leekworth. Found the campsite very clean and tidy. Owner Robin very friendly and helpful. Keeps a regular check on the site to make sure everything is ok and no one is rowdy.
Pitched next to river with great views over the countryside. About 15 minute walk into Middleton in Teesdale - fish and chip shop excellent!
Toilet block very clean and well maintained. Will definitely return soon.
The only thing we would change is to have hot water facilities for washing up and shower block but overall great visit and site.

Stayed for two nights. Lovely campsite, very clean and quiet and lovely surroundings.
I will be using this site again for definite. I never used the shower block though appeared adequate though small.
Fresh water in purpose built shed.A very nice basic site ideal for a relaxing weekend.

We as a family have been going to Leekworth farm site Middleton in Teesdale on the bank of the river tees for over 29 years, when Alan Dent the last owner sadly passed away the site was closed down for sometime.
I have always thought the site had massive potential, I am glad to say that the new owner has the same vision as myself, yes this comes at a cost, but the new owner Robin Bough has transformed the site completely making it even more family friendly,
It was nice to see caravans & tens Motorhome all together,
With toilets on site and future plans for showers this will make a ideal family holiday site in a fantastic part of England.

Stayed for 3 nights in May. Originally booked for 1 night and planned to move on but the site/area was so good that we stayed for two extra nights. Fantastic views from the site which is situated in a valley and is right next to the River Tees. Great for lying in bed listening to the river.
Pitches are flat and there is plenty of room to spread out, unlike some sites. There are three fields on the site. One has electric hook up (if needed), the other two areas don't (one of which is a small rally area.)
All fields have good views and have water points/waste disposal. Robin (the owner) is regularly on the site and is always happy to have a chat or give advice/info about the local area.
The facilities are basic on this site (No showers at the moment) but this wasn't a problem for us. The toilets were clean and well maintained. I understand that there are plans for showers on the site in the future.
Short walk into village where there is a good selection of cafes / chippy / pub / co-op supermarket etc. Good walks available directly from the site as the Teesdale Walk skirts the edges of the site.
There is also a wooded area near the village that is good for dog walking. Plenty of fishing available in the vicinity but you may need to buy day passes depending on the location.
Overall, this is was a gem of a find and we hope to return again in the future.

We booked this site over the phone for a one night chill out and we weren`t disappointed. Set on the river Tees this location is idyllic and perfect for us as far as location is concerned. The site warden was very pleasant and helpful.
The toilet block is ok, however there is only one toilet for the ladies and two toilets and two urinals for the men. The ladies were often queuing and the site was no where near at full capacity. However we have been assured that there are plans for a new toilet and shower block.
The site is dog friendly with many local walks from the campsite
Middleton in Teasdale is a short walk along the river with a few nice pubs and tea rooms. We will be returning next weekend with Bobby our dog. Weather permitting.

Visited the weekend of the royal wedding for 4 days, the owner is very friendly and will stop and chat any time. Site is very well kept as are the toilets, which are very clean and tidy. My two dogs loved the river tees which runs at the bottom of the main field, plenty of walking in the area, Teesdale way runs along side of site and river. 5 mins or so to village for pubs and supplies. Liked it so much we will be back more than once this year. This is a gem of a site should not praise it to much as you will all want to come.

We originally planned to stay at this site for 1 night only then move on. However we had a great evening walk beside the River Tees and despite the basic facilities ie no shower or washing up facilities we decided to stay another night.
As we were out late, Robin the owner was anxious we hadn't got back to our tent that he phoned us to check we were ok!
The site was tranquil, beside the river. The facilities are basic and it took us a while to find it as we hadn't gone far enough down the lane. We would go back when Robin fixes up the showers which my older daughter requires as a minimum!

Stayed here for three nights with our dog at the end of April, what a gem! Fantastic quiet location on the bank of the river with flat pitches and beautiful views. Facilities basic at the moment but spotlessly clean, and a new toilet/shower block is planned. We didn't need electric hook-up, but it was available on several pitches. We had no children with us on this occasion, but they would have enjoyed the river! A short 20 min walk along the riverbank into Middleton, where there are several cafes, pubs and small supermarket open 7 days a week, and a fantastic chippy! Site is just a short drive from High Force, and there are loads of public footpaths nearby. A friendly site with very helpful owner, we will definitely be back!

Me and my two girls visited leekwoth after a busy two weeks, it was a very peaceful weekend we had. Just what I needed.
The local village was very handy and had all you needed. There are lots of local attractions around too, like High Force and Weardale.
There is lots of local walks by the river too. Staff were really helpful.
I have booked up to go back next weekend as I was really happy with our visit. My family can't wait to go back.
