It is the first time we have visited this lovely site all we can say is what a gem.
The site is on a couple of large fields one field is adults only, the pitches are quite large with and without EHU some have a tap on them.
The toilet block is new with large shower cubicles and kept very clean. There is a 50p charge for showering.
Less than a minutes walk will bring you to the river where you can fish for free (rod licence is required) or follow the river for 15-20 mins and you come to Middleton in Teesdale a lovely dales town with a few shops and a couple of pubs. This part of the country lends itself to plenty of walking, cycling and touring or just chilling out enjoying the peace and quiet.
Say hello to the owner a lovely man who works extremely hard keeping the site in good order.
Nearly forgot you can also hire renovated cottages.
It won't be the last time we visit this site we will be back.

I was sick of the hold that caravan site owners have over static caravan owners so I decided to buy a tourer and leave it on site for a season.
I chose Leekworth as if had everything I could possibly want in a caravan site without being tied down, and the freedom to move site's with out having to pay the site owner for the privileged of doing so.
This site is absolutely brilliant. Excellent facilities, a stunning location with free fishing on the river Whitch runs alongside the site.
A site owner that respects the rights of caravan owners and bends over backwards to meet everyone's needs.
I have stored my van here and booked for the whole of next season and will probably stay here for a few years as it is the perfect location to escape the stress of everyday life.

This site is convenient for the town of Middleton in Teesdale and visiting the surrounding area. Facilities have recently been refurbished. Fires permitted - they'll supply you with a fire pit and logs for a fiver. Staff like to complain quite a lot, but it was a nice enough visit all the same.

What a brilliant site. Just got back from a three night stay at this site, wish we could have stopped longer. Site staff were very friendly, helpful and informative about the surrounding area, the pitchers are almost level, and the toilet blocks are kept very clean there is also a small shop on site for basics. The village is only ten minutes walk away and has two pubs and a chip shop and everything else you could need for a pleasant stay. All in all 10 out of 10

Site is located about 15-20 minutes walk from the centre of the pretty village of Middleton-in-Teesdale. The village has a Co-op, a good fish and chip shop, a barclays bank and cash machine, a hardware shop that seems to sell everything, as well as numerous small tea shops. Further afield, about 20-30 minutes drive is Barnard Castle, which has a Morrisons Supermarket and tonnes of other shops. All in all the location is great for exploring the northern Pennines. High Force waterfall is only a 15 minute drive away.
The campsite is accessed via a narrow lane that is in pretty poor repair, with few passing places. The lane extends for about 1km.
The site is quite large - in fact one large field located next to the river Tees with plenty of points where you can access the water. The tents are pitched around the outer edges of the field, leaving the large space in the middle for children to play.
It wasn't that busy when we went in the last week of August just before bank holiday. Price was £104 for four nights with electric.
Ground is good - no stones and drained well. Quite a windy site.
EHU point also had a tap which was handy.
Shower and toilet blocks extremely clean and also modern. Annoying to pay 50p for a shower that lasts no more than 6-8 minutes and requires you to press the restart button every 20 seconds. But not a major issue, given how clean the facilities are.
Owners/managers leave you to yourself which is great. Some people took up the offer of a fire pit and seemed to have fun with that. Not sure how much that cost.
Would re-visit if in the area again.

Lovely site right on the river you can walk along the river to the village which has some nice shops and coffee shops. The camp site is very flat you have your own shingle area for your van, the showers and toilets are all new and very clean and the owner is a lovely man very helpful. I would go back to this site ).

Just spent 2 nights at this excellent site. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. The site is kept spotless, and the Facilities are too! The site is set in beautiful countryside, and Fishing on the Tees is Free to visitors - a real bonus! The owner had just cut one of the large grass fields next to the site, and installed Football Nets, so plenty of space for the children to play. Despite the Brochure stating 'Narrow' Lane to entrance of site, we managed perfectly well with one of the Very Large Motorhomes. We would definitely recommend this area to Lovers of the Countryside, with lots of interesting places to visit. We will return next year!

What a fabulous site. Clean tidy and welcoming the shower and toilet facilities are fantastic. Immaculately clean and very well looked after even the washing up area was spotless. There are EHUs available but we did not use them camp fires are allowed but you have to hire the pit and buy the wood the owners are friendly and maintain the site well. The site is located alongside the river Tees where I believe you can fish for free as a patron of the site. It was very quiet while we were there, just what we wanted. Will certainly be visiting again. Could benefit from an area for children to play there is literally nothing but the river. LOVELY

Weekend with family in 3 tents, great site, very welcoming, ideal for the grandchildren, plenty of space to enjoy, Middleton in teesdale has everything for the family. Shops, cafe's and a great play area. The fire pit really helped to make the weekend. But High Force was the bonus especially for the children. We will be coming back.

Just come back from two days R and R at Leekworth fully relaxed after a very pleasant stay. The site is exceptionally clean, well ran and well placed next to Middleton In Teesdale for walks, fishing and exploring this beautiful area.
We will be back again in the near future as two days weren't enough.
