This was the third time I had visited this site and it doesn't seem to have changed at all. Which is good because it is one of my favourite sites. It is quite a small site which seems to accommodate mainly caravans in one field and tents and motorhomes and an occasional caravan in another, with a small section for adults only.

There are several EHU pillars which are sensibly placed so that pitch positions can be rotated allowing the grass to recover. There are also some marked EHU pitches. There is no EHU in the adults section as they like to look upon that as the 'quiet' area although I am not quite sure what difference electricity makes. The grass is plush and neatly mown giving a good and clean base beneath tents but firm enough for wheeled units.

With regards to noise the nearby railway seems to get louder each time I go. It seemed particularly noisy this time at night with trains running until about 1. 00am and then a brief respite until they started again about 4. 00am. Perhaps the volume of the noise has to do with whichever way the wind is blowing. However, it is good to have the railway station about 5-10 minutes walk up the road (on a pavement) and it cost me £2. 80 return to Littlehampton. I am guessing the same to Arundel.

There is no ticket office at Ford though so you have to get your ticket from a machine which doesn't always work as it should. It should provide one away ticket and one return ticket but in my case it only provided one away ticket so I had to plead with a rather bored and miserable ticket inspector at Littlehampton to let me return again. Walking to either town takes approximately an hour along the river bank but it's not easy walking because the path is a little lumpy and not too well maintained.

I have only used the pub next to the site once in my three visits and have never eaten there although it seems to get good reviews. It does not open at all on Mondays. It advertises the best fish and chips in Ford to eat there or take away. They could actually be the worst fish and chips in Ford because there are no other eating places in Ford. Except for the prison down the road but you can only 'eat in' there!

The facilities block sometimes gets a bad mention in reviews but although the sinks might be old fashioned and the block a little outdated compared with bigger more expensive sites, there are plenty of sinks, loos and showers and all are cleaned immaculately. I didn't see a spider or moth anywhere.

There is a code entry system which stops members of the public from the pub using it. Perhaps one annoying thing for me was that the toilet paper was in single sheets encased in locked metal boxes and can sometimes pull out shredded. And a big handful of straw-like paper isn't a good substance for wiping bums.

I am not sure whether they charge per person or per unit but as a solo camper I was charged £14 a night (in a 5 man tent) including EHU which has to be very good at this time of year.

I would certainly recommend this site but not to too many people or they will all want to go there!

Just spent 3 nights at this lovely site. The field is kept very tidy and there are electric hook-ups. The warden was friendly and helpful. The toilets and showers are quite dated and basic but very clean. There is a pub on site and the fish and chips were excellent.

You can walk in to Arundel or Littlehampton or wander along the river bank and visit the local 12th century church. There is a large field just a few minutes walk away where dogs can have a run. We took our two to the woods at Anmering, lots of paths to choose from. West beach is a short drive away and dog friendly.

Worthing is within easy reach and there is a church at Goring which is painted in the style of the Sistine Chapel, well worth a visit. Will be going back to the campsite in 3 weeks time and I would think a few more after that too! Lovely

For us this was a really good site, hard standing grass pitch mowed and the grass cuttings picked up, that's such a bonus.

The shower block is dated but extremely clean.

A station is within easy walk of the site so made it easy to get about.

But the best thing about the site is the pub next door the staff are friendly, and the food is not only reasonable but extremely good. ( closed Sunday night and all day Monday) we would stay at this site just to use the pub next door.

We spent one night at this camp site. Very quiet and clean, people on site friendly. Train noise a bit loud but settles down. Grass cut and level. Maybe better in the summer will be visiting again.

Shower block and toilets clean, water as hot as you want. Inn very good and food excellent. Price for two very affordable.

What a lovely site, flat with grass cut regular and no clippings left, short walk to train station which goes to Arundel and Brighton etc:- nice walks along river off of site.

Pub on site, and what a pub, friendly staff and food to die for, a place that you must go and eat at. Only down side was the amenities', dated shower block and only 2 showers plus 1 bath in the ladies, 3 showers in gents, although very clean don't know what it would be like at peak season. Would we go back, MOST DEFINATELY even just for the food.

Well we were impressed with the site itself, ok toilet block was out the 60's but perfectly adequate and clean. The site is flat, no grass clippings (which really annoy me!).

There are 30 hook ups and then the rest is for tents or people who want to be off grid.

The toilet block! - Ladies: 14 toilets, 2 showers, 1 bath and about 20 basins! Mens: 3 urinals, 12 toilets, 3 showers and about 12 hand basins. The showers take 50p for 10 minutes and have to say it was one of the best showers we have been to. For the size of the site. There is nearly a loo per pitch!

There is a wash up area and also a sink for washing clothes etc. 2-3 fresh water taps around. Also Elsan area for your own loo.

The reception area is ok and they sell oddments in the shop but this is only open for about an hour a day.

Pub: Went there for a drink and was busy with quite a few people eating. We found the staff very friendly.

The railway noise: first 2 days, what noise. 3rd day the wind changed direction and we did hear them now and again, but didn't worry us in the least. The trains are usually only 4-5 carriages and its quite a smooth track so not much clacking sounds.

From the site it takes no more than 5 minutes to walk to the train station at Ford and its just one stop to Arundel. Was £3. 40 return each. Otherwise you can walk the river path to Arundel which is about 3 miles. The castle is well worth a visit and so are the gardens around it. Nice tea rooms in the town. We only walked part of the river path one evening. A bit overgrown so not much use for cycling. We cycled to the coast another day and it is mainly flat. Trains also go to Bognor Regis and Littlehampton etc.

For a 3-4 day stay, it is ideal. A bit expensive at £22 per night and 50p for showers, but for Arundel, its the nearest. Would I go back. Of course, but then I'm not that worried about mod cons.

Booked 2 nights for a family party in the area. Helen, the site manager was extremely helpful, both on booking and when we met her on our late arrival on a Friday night. She was very welcoming and patient, despite her having a busy weekend on the site with the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

We were worried about getting an evening meal after our long journey and the staff of the adjacent pub, The Ship & Anchor, couldn't have been more obliging as they had already finished serving food officially at 8pm that evening. We were offered a table half an hour later, enough time to put up the tent and return & relax in a very friendly environment with excellent food and very good value for money.

As mentioned by other reviews, the campsite is flat and well drained with 3 separate areas for storage, families and what is referred to as the Botton Paddock which is very much quieter, for couples only. The toilet/shower block was cleaned daily with only 2 showers, but here was also a bath - something we have never seen on a campsite in 30 years! A little local train passes behind the campsite but no noise late in the evening. If we had more time, looks like nice walks along the river. We will be back.

We absolutely love this camp site. The pub is a bonus and does wonderful food which is great if you arrive a little late to cook. They allow well behaved dogs on the campsite and at the pub, inside too. The shower block and toilets are a little dated but are clean and there is always hot water. Who wants ultra modern showers, you're camping after all.

The camp site is near to a gorgeous beach, which has a dog friendly section. There is a super farmers market type shop nearby by too which does great vegetables, meat, fish.

As the campsite is quite small you can hear the road and/or railway nearby but not so much as to spoil your time there. We like the fact that they are strict about noise at night, it means everyone seems to be quite considerate of their neighbours.

We have returned time and time again. Plan to visit as soon as the weather permits!

Stayed here for 2 nights at Easter to try out our new caravan. Level, well-drained site. Really helpful with handy caravan-reverser on site as we pulled past the entrance to the camping field. It's the first entrance on the left after you come down the drive. Excellent pub on site, good beer and superb freshly-cooked food served on steaming hot plates. Quiet site, ideally located. Very clean. Definitely recommend.

A friendly welcome, very accommodating when I requested a late arrival, up to 9pm, Good, flat, marked out grass pitches - for hook-up area anyway. Shower block a bit tired but clean and functional. Showers take 50p tokens, would prefer to be included in pitch price but works ok. Quiet except for nearby rail line but not too disturbing. The associated pub on site, Ship & Anchor is very good. Friendly, nice atmosphere, good pub grub. Beware though, stops serving food at 8:30pm
