The noise here is absolutely terrible, the train line runs behind the hedge of this site on one side and the main road is on the other.

Train and cars passing all day and night.

Children not really are not really welcome as they make noise. Which is great if you want a child free site.

It takes ages to check in due to having to be told all the site rules.

Showers not all that and 50p for 10mins.

If you have visitors they have to pay to come on site £2, never heard of this in 30 years of camping,

No music at all.

This site is best suited for child free more mature quite people, because if your not you will be thrown off.

Nice area, lovely walks,

Clean site and also they open the shop twice a day for half an hour, mad.

We enjoyed a 2 night stay at this site, which is level, clean and astonishingly well drained, considering the shocking amounts of rain just prior to our arrival. We were welcomed nicely although most of the welcome was listening to the rules of the site, 'not to walk dogs on any part of site, 9.30pm locking of gates, absolutely no music to be played at any time and of course the code for accessing the toilet block. I am sure that all these rules are for good reasons, but I would have preferred a cheery welcome and a piece of paper with these rules pleasantly explained.

I was shocked that the site charges £2 per adult and £1 for children who wish to visit anyone camping. We had people visit us on the Saturday afternoon who had to cough up £7 for the pleasure.

The site is quiet and relaxing and the adjacent pub with really good food is wonderful, the area interesting with many activities. The local disused airfield has a car-boot sale on Sat mornings and a market on Sundays and of course Arundel is close by. Overall it's a thumbs UP.

Enjoyed a very relaxed weekend at this park. Very helpful and friendly staff at both park and the quiet and convivial pub which served very good meals. Very close to beautiful Arundel reached within ten minutes in the motorhome and (we were told) if walking just over the hour.

The shower/ toilet bloc was adequate if pricey at 50p a shower. Will definitely return.

Just returned from a weekend break at this site.

Plus points are that all in all this is a quiet, smaller friendly campsite which gives the overall feel of being less hectic than larger sites. Small playpark which was ideal for the kids, small shop selling necessities and an on-site pub which is handy, and certainly does not seem to add any evening time noise.

There are no set pitches, so you just set up where you wish.

Site warden did seem to be a bit like the 'fun police'. When I asked where to pitch, the answer was to pitch where the children were playing ball games. When I asked whether ball games were frowned upon, the answer I got was that it was a camping field, not a 'playing' field. I joked that I hoped children found playing was not frowned upon. Also, when my nephew went to fill up his water pistol (today was extremely hot) we were advised by the 'fun police' that if other people saw, they might think it looked like fun and want to do it too!

Facilities were adequate. Shower very powerful, but only one hook to hang clothes, plus it cost 50p each time. Shower/toilet unit was very old and dated, and you need to memorise a six digit code to enter. Fine in the day, but after a few glasses of wine, not so easy!

All in all we will go back as it is very laid back and enjoy that little bit of freedom in setting out our own pitch than being squeezed between guides.

Stayed for 3 nights which we had pre booked . We were on a mains pitch with a clearly defined area . The pitch was grass and despite one night of heavy rain the site obviously drains well as there were no problems with driving to and fro the pitch. The site is very well run all the staff we came in contact with were very helpful and polite both on site and in the pub. The site is very well kept and clean. The toilet block is old and in need of updating but perfectly clean. The only disappointment was the 50p charge for hot water in the shower and there is no service point for motorhomes, however if we decide to visit this area again we would not hesitate to use the site again.

A point worth noting the site is approx. 5 mins walk from Ford Railway Station, with frequent train services.

I have just stayed for one night at the Ship and anchor campsite, my first night under canvas for 20 years. I am disabled, doing a charity sponsored back pack for Naomi House Children's Hospice, on my 4 wheel electric buggy. I only spent the one night but I can assure you I will be returning to this site on a regular basis for longer stays. The owner, Helen is Charming, friendly and very helpful, and from what I gathered from fellow campers I met, is universally loved and respected.

The camping ground is level, well drained with well mown grass. Around the edges the flora is allowed to grow wild as the site is very keen on wildlife conservation. (Gold award 2008 from the David Bellamy wildlife people)

Toilet and washing facilities are clean, well maintained, and I had no problems with access.

It is a quiet site with no music or noise after 10 pm. The main gate is locked at 9pm so no cars after that time. You would have to park outside and walk onto the camp. If you don't like dawn choruses, don't stay here. Lol I would happily score this site 100 out of 10 and recommend it to any camper looking for a quiet, well ordered, well maintained site.

First time camping for me and my two boys, we had a lovely stay here and was pleased to find the site had a bath with two small boys this was great and only 50p.

The site was very well kept and Helen was very helpful even charging my phone for me, the toilets were old but well kept. Everyone was quiet after 10.30 which was good. The park was small but kept my 2 boys very happy for hours!

I was only meant to stay three nights but ended up there for a week.

Only real downside was the pub was pricey but that's a sign of the times I suppose.

I would highly recommend this site.

Very nice site, very well kept, very well run, more need for emphasise on people skills training, pub nice.

On site shop good, toilet block old but very clean.

Good washing up facility.

Good position for beach and town of littlehampton.

Our children loved the beach.

The camping fields are level and beautifully kept: clean and tidy, grass neatly trimmed but with areas where it's left long for conservation purposes. The areas for vans & tents have spacious marked pitches and there is a 'quiet field' - tents only, no groups, no children - which I loved. Here, the pitches were unmarked but a 6 metre rule in force. Bricks are provided for barbecues to rest on to avoid damage to the grass.

The owners are keen to promote wildlife and rabbits and ducks were in evidence in the fields, a fox roamed at night and a cuckoo was clearly audible from about 5.30 am. From the pub at the entrance, a short private path takes you straight to the bank of the river Arun.

The site is quiet, with a no music rule and no noise after 10.30. I particularly liked the locked gates at 9pm, so cars had to park up by the pub and boat yard rather than disturb the peace of the evening. The adjacent road can be a bit noisy in daytime, but not at night.

The showers and toilets are looking a little tired and could benefit from some refurbishment, but were spotlessly clean. The 50p token gave you 10 minutes of gloriously hot water at almost power shower pressure and, unusually, there was a cubicle with a bath for anyone who fancied a soak. A boon for families with toddlers, I think. The entrance door was on a key pad system which might be tricky for little fingers to operate.

The on-site shop sells the basics at reasonable prices, and the owner / manager, Helen, was unwaveringly friendly, helpful and charming, even on what must have been one of the busiest camping weekends of the year.

The pub was friendly, dogs allowed, although one of the staff seemed to be going for 'grumpy barman of the year'. The food is basic pub grub, a bit on the dear side for the quality (although a disappointing lasagne on my first night was compensated for by a wonderful omelette on my second). Sadly, it doesn't do local Arundel, Horsham, or Harveys beers but Greene King all the way from Suffolk. They also had an odd rule about making you go inside to eat.

All in all, a really good site for a peaceful, chilled out stay.

Just got home from a well deserved break.

I must say thank you to Helen and we will see you in a few weeks.

Went to the pub, food was pricey and the fish was not too nice, so we ate out and about. We didn't try anything else in the pub on site.

The site is lovely, well planned and drains very quickly, we know this due to the severe thunder storm and torrential rain we had in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The toilets are well kept, its a shame about the 50p token for the shower block, but the site fee's are fair so I would say this balances out.

I would love to see the toilet block spiders removed, I am a bit arachnophobic and as such was uncomfortable late on when the arachnids go on the prowl.

It would be nice if the gate was on a keycode or something similar, it was a little awkward being locked 2100 - 0800, especially as we had a bad leak Monday night, which required a visit to the 24hour Asda in Havant for silicone, I had to ring my partners brother to drive over and pick up silicone at 22:30 hours. Maybe you could consider a different method please?

I would like to see the fencing near the Elsan area either painted white, or a light erected. I fell over it. Ok. Stop laughing, my future daughter-in-law fell over it too.

Well situated for visiting family and days out along the South Coast, we love Ford market, 2 minute drive away.

Nice site, train and road noise was no problem

All in all, enjoyable, pleasant break.
