Second time we have stayed at this site. Both times the welcome was warm and friendly. There are some rules to follow which I don't have a problem with, they make the site a better place for everyone.
The toilet block is a bit dated but was generally clean, I just wish that some idiots could trying cleaning up after themselves but you will always get that I suppose. You have to buy a token for the shower (50p for 10 mins) but you do have a hot and cold tap so you have total control over the temperature which is a lot better than some of the lukewarm push button showers I have used before.
The site has access to a river side walk to Arundel which took us about 40 mins. The pub on site did good pub food at reasonable prices and large portions, yum yum!
Would happy go back for another stay.

On arriving through an avenue of horse chestnuts our site was on the left and looked fantastic and promised a good couple of days (We came with 4 friends in their vans for a last trip this summer.) We got to the gate to find a bell which was not answered and a telephone No. Which we rang. A woman answered and several minutes later appeared from the building and walked in front of the car to her office without a glance at us. She explained the rules in detail and asked for £29.00. We had to vacate by 12.00 on Sunday which I asked if this was at all flexible, the answer was 'NO why?' I said if no one else was arriving ( the site was nearly empty) we might like to have lunch before going, before I could say any more she said 'No, if I bend the rules for you I have to for everyone'. I was going to say we would have lunch in her pub. I mentioned our daughter, husband and young son were popping in to say hello and look over the site for a future visit. They stayed for about an hour and we were charged £7.00. All this and the strict shut out time at 9.00 the 6 of us decided not eat in the pub but go out for dinner on Saturday evening. Pity because the site was nice and well maintained and there are great walks along the river and around the area.

We travelled with friends and our children to this site for 2 nights. The site was basic but adequate and just down the road from the train station where you can visit Arundel or Littlehampton for just a few pounds. We pitched in a corner of the field and there were many rules to follow re pitching area/noise etc but we welcomed these. Our problem was that a coach of foreign students arrived and pitched in the middle of the field - we could not get our car out. They then used bushes for toilets - although after we complained to the manager, I think this stopped. The toilet/shower block was not very clean and one of the showers was blocked - however this may have been due to the number of people using them. Based next to a pub - which we thought would be good however it was very busy and not great for kids. Altogether a basic and cheap site in a good location but I would not stay for more than 1 night.

This was a last minute booking for one night, phoned ahead and were told they had some pitches next to the children's play area, which looked fine. The campsite was lovely and friendly.
Good points: pub next door, a 2.5 mile walk to Arundel along the river (taxis available in Arundel to get you back), not too big.
The only negatives would be: once we set up we were told we could have had a pitch in the quiet field (which wasn't a problem as we were only there for one night but would have been nice to have the choice especially when a child screamed in the night for about an hour). The other thing was the men in our group told us the men's showers and toilets were not very clean and really smelt, so much so they did not want to take a shower. The ladies were fine, perhaps a bit old, but the showers were powerful and hot. As no other reviewer has mentioned this it could just be a one off so don't let it put you off.

I've been here once and I am determined to return. Its very dog friendly and children are welcome too. Its a 5 min walk from Ford station and leads up to Littlehampton station. Showers are 50p for 10 mins, and its about a 5m walk to the beach. Watch out for the people living in boat houses there is a guy who gets very angry if you walk down a public footpath next to boat house. The staff at the camp site are very friendly and The pub on site had really nice food but a little expensive.
Overall its a good camp site for travellers and people who love the beach like me!

Despite some concerns after reading earlier reviews we were very pleased with our stay here. Helen was friendly and polite upon arrival, clearly (and pleasantly)stating the campsite rules- which although seem a bit strict are, in fact, very understandable and help make the site enjoyable for everyone. (6m between units means peace for all, no music and no noise after 10.30pm or too early make sure its quiet for late sleepers and early risers.)
The campsite is clean and pretty. The showers/toilets are clean and practical (there's even a bath in the ladies!)
The pub was great. Very wide range of real ales, pleasant locals and staff. Nice area outside. A well spaced pool table and plenty of places to sit. (Jukebox is a little strange though!)
The path alongside the pub leads you out to the river Arun and there are some lovely walks to be taken.
Overall all four of us (2 couples, 34-51 age range, although can often act like 12 year olds) enjoyed our stay a great deal and we plan to return.
I would give the site a good 8/10 at least.

I took my 10 year old daughter here for one night to test out our new canvas tent!
I knew the area well as it is close to home. The trains do not run all night, and the road is not busy after about 11pm. We were not bothered by noise from either although we pitched close to the road.
The site has a play area for children, and lots of children were playing rounders and inviting others to join in when we were there, this seemed to be perfectly acceptable to the owners and was great fun.
The rules are explained clearly (they can seem a bit officious, but with a pub right next to the site they need rules on visitors and keycodes for the toilet block doors)
The site is clean and tidy as are the showers / toilets (there is a charge for the showers)
There is a little site shop in case you forget anything and to get fresh milk etc.
The pub is excellent for food and drink, and has a children's menu, the staff there are very friendly.
The site is locked during the night, but there is space to park cars outside the gate if you return late.
The site is green, well maintained and level, great for tents, it is not regimented into rows, and we pitched where we wanted to.
We are returning this weekend as we enjoyed it so much.

Went for the bank holiday weekend. Helen's welcome was warm and after explaining the rules we were shown to our pitch.
The site is situated close to the river so so you can have a nice walk to Arundel (about 2.5miles). The pub on site was fine with good pub food and the landlord very friendly.
The showers and toilets were old and not always the cleanest but I can forgive that due to the site being full. Overall we had an enjoyable time and we were pleased that the warden keeps on top of the noise from big groups and screaming kids playing between the pitches.
Would happily return for another stay.

We stayed 2 nights here Sun and Mon with a camper. It was quiet and we stayed in the bottom paddock which we were told did suffer from road noise; however, we found the train and road noise hardly noticeable and enjoyed being the only ones in this part of the site.
I found the owner who booked us in and opened the shop to be helpful and friendly; her knowledge of the local area / attractions and passion for the birdlife which was encouraged was contagious! She had a whiteboard in the shop listing the birds that had been recently spotted around, and books and leaflets to borrow.
The toilet/shower block although a little old was large and clean. There was a charge for the shower and a charge for having visitors on site which was a shame and a little unnecessary.
The pub had nice home cooked food (although not serving on Mon), and the staff were very welcoming. There were lovely walks around and I would certainly consider returning to this peaceful relaxing site.

We found this site by accident while looking for somewhere to stop one evening and what a great find it was. It's fairly spacious with a mix of tents and tourers and it has a pub virtually on site. The warden was very thorough in describing the rules and we were given a nice choice of pitches.
We used the pub in the evening where both the food and drink were good and the landlord was friendly. The toilet block is dated and the showers 50p for 10 minutes but this was all fine as well. Unlike some other campsites we weren't rushed off the pitch dead on 12 which made packing up and leaving more relaxed.
The only downsides were the ridiculous speed bumps on the way in, not needed and far too big. Also on the Sunday morning I strolled down to the shop for pint of milk only to find that it only opens between 9.15 - 9.30 and 5.45 - 6.00pm! Anyway everyone just drives off site to buy anything.
Overall this was a nice little site and I would definitely return.
